All welcome Smile I joined Slimming World in November and so far lost 9.5lb, a bit of a gain over Christmas but getting there - I have around 3 stone to lose and I am looking forward to fitting into clothes not worn for a long time and have a big family wedding coming up. I would like to look like the slim, glamourous Aunt in the photos (without upstaging the bride!) Grin

Well done Blondeshavemorefun*

LightandAiry · 02/09/2022 10:34

My weigh in tomorrow - my friend is coming over this evening for pizza. I will have to be very strict only 2 slices with a big salad as I've had a good week.

Hope everyone is OK

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/09/2022 10:35

Thanks @LightandAiry

and that’s why I weigh Fri am as if a naughty weekend I have the week to even out

LightandAiry · 02/09/2022 10:36

DrMadelineMaxwell well done on 1lb. We also have uni visits coming up, but should be able to do them in a day. Are you going very far away from home for to he visits?

LightandAiry · 03/09/2022 09:31

Weighed in - had a maintain, which is disappointing as apart from yesterday it's been a good week. If I did not have a good week before yesterday it would have been a gain. Oh well, my own fault....

Hope everyone is OK

DrMadelineMaxwell · 03/09/2022 10:27

Well done Blondes on your loss. And at least it was not a gain, light. Maybe it means more will come off next week.

For uni visits we are driving 2 hours for Leeds next weekend. 2 hours a different direction for Warwick 3 weeks later. 3.5 for Cardiff towards end oct.
Then off to Lanzarotte with Dd as a sort of 18th present.. I did the same with dd1 when she was 18 and it was lovely..

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/09/2022 10:30

Sts the good @LightandAiry

as I said sure j will gain or sts next week due to cream tea and Chinese

Carpediem15 · 03/09/2022 13:09

1lb off this week and got to first target, moved it down another half a stone. Got Slimmer of the Week as most had maintained or lost a half except 2 newbies who had lost 3lbs each.
Want 1.5 off next week to get to Club 10 so going to make a real effort, no wine or the odd biscuit here and there.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 03/09/2022 13:22

STS can be a result @LightandAiry . I'm going to have to get a grip, now I'm home from anniversary break. Blew some syns on what was meant to be (not cheap) pavlova, but was rubbish, and just had small amount of fruit with bought in mini meringues on top. Didn't have the energy to complain, and risk spoiling the day, but quietly seethed. I might have complained, but it arrived with Happy Anniversary plate with a bonus brownie on it, and it somehow seemed churlish. Annoying waste of syns though.

LightandAiry · 03/09/2022 16:31

Thanks, yes a maintain is OK and not surprised as no time to work off pizza, chocolate and prosecco! SpongeBobJudgeyPants a free brownie - yum! What a nice way to spend your anniversary, but poor show about the meringues.

Carpediem15 well done! I'll be happy with 1lb next week.

DrMadelineMaxwell we're off to Bristol next week, going by train though as no parking at the university. Train straight through, no changes. We're also off to Cardiff in October. DD has already seen Southampton. Bit odd isn't it?! Is yours the first? We've already been through it with Ds. What a relief her time won't be disrupted by Covid. We've had Ds home since Easter as all his exams were online but thankfully he has friends to share with next year, and at least there's one normal year out of three, but he will be very busy with studying (I hope!).

LightandAiry · 03/09/2022 16:34

You and me both SpongeBobJudgeyPants needing to get a handle on it....I'd love to see the next stone bracket down again, I was so pleased with myself. I've decided to cut down on portions.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 03/09/2022 19:03

No, not our first. DD has just finished her degree in York.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 03/09/2022 19:09

Body magic might help this week. I start yoga on Friday, @LightandAiry .

LightandAiry · 03/09/2022 19:36

Great let me know how it goes SpongeBobJudgeyPants I don't bother with the Body Magic awards but I should look into it. I used to like WW giving extra points for exercise. I'd like Slimming World to do the same - maybe extra syns?

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/09/2022 21:49

Well done @Carpediem15

DrMadelineMaxwell · 03/09/2022 23:51

I'd prefer it if they gave extra syns for exercise. But I'm also used to nutricheck having an expected level of steps/exercise before it would let you have extra calories.

Depending on how knackered I am after work on the first week back, I'm aiming to go to Zumba Mon, Dance fit Tues and West End Workout (dance aerobics to songs from musicals!) to give myself as much of a boost as possible. I did so well the first week, but since then I've only lost one or half a pound. I'd like to lose 2. Even half will give me my first half stone off though.

LightandAiry · 04/09/2022 08:41

Yes, something like up to 10 extra syns per week. I've never heard of West End workout before! There's a lot to choose from

A friend children same age, not seen for years out of the blue contacted me to ask if I'd like to do 80s dance for Mums, advertised with people wearing headbands and lycra....I think I've persuaded her to join me for Clubbercise which at least is in the dark!

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/09/2022 09:41

How much have you all lost ?

Afternoon . Tea was much. Omg. So nice. So bad. Soooooooooo over syns

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 04/09/2022 11:05

Afternoon tea. Mmm. Cake! I miss cake, when you have it, it's so synny. I've lost 3 stone so far. Think I'll aim for another 2 for target @Blondeshavemorefun

How are we all today?

LightandAiry · 04/09/2022 11:28

Yes me too SpongeBobJudgeyPants. I've just been to Costa sat outside with a coffee, luckily I didn't have to go in. Do you find now you're closer to target having to adjust portion sizes? I think I need to do that.

Blondeshavemorefun I've stalled at 1 stone 8.5lb. I am halfway.

LightandAiry · 04/09/2022 11:29

My idea of heaven....spa with afternoon tea!

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/09/2022 12:26

3s is amazing well done !!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 04/09/2022 13:11

Thanks @Blondeshavemorefun I need to scale portion sizes down @LightandAiry And maybe stop having things that I don't count! SW con suggested the idea of putting all your syns for the week, 115 for most folks, in a jar,(in the form of pennies) and taking them out as used, to give an idea of how much you have in the syn bank. I think I'll collect lots of 1p's and try this! I'm thinking a tangible representation of how much 'slack' I have in an otherwise healthy eating plan will focus my mind!

Carpediem15 · 04/09/2022 14:29

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/09/2022 21:49

Well done @Carpediem15

Thank you.
About putting syns in a jar - a lady at my group has a jam jar of marbles and she takes one out and moves to another jar. She said this way it is easier to see how many marbles are left rather than coins.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/09/2022 14:55
