All welcome Smile I joined Slimming World in November and so far lost 9.5lb, a bit of a gain over Christmas but getting there - I have around 3 stone to lose and I am looking forward to fitting into clothes not worn for a long time and have a big family wedding coming up. I would like to look like the slim, glamourous Aunt in the photos (without upstaging the bride!) Grin

Welcome @takeagamble . Do you mean at your group you are invited to say what you are proud of that week? Don't think I'd have much to say! Would feel a bit like people boasting.

LightandAiry · 30/08/2022 10:57

Morning everyonetakeagamble welcome, you are very right to be proud of running a 5K in 32 minutes. My proud is just now I ate a carrot instead of a 3.5 syn yogurt!

Blondeshavemorefun I hope the hospital food is OK. How are you doing? These nasty falls can cause so much trouble.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants your weigh in is Thursday?

Hope everyone is doing OK

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 30/08/2022 11:00

Hi All

Yes, my weigh in is Thursday. Not particularly looking forward to it, after hols. But hey ho Grin

takeagamble · 30/08/2022 11:51

Not sure how to reply yet.

Yes in group my consultant often asked what we are proud of this week besides weight loss and I always love to hear other people proud of. Sometimes it's nothing to do with SW.

It's apparently for self esteem as your more likely to be true to yourself and put the effort in if you think you are worth it. He's a therapist too so suppose he knows what he's talking about. I suppose it is boosting a little but maybe that's the point 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Oh I've just had the best SW lunch of life. Smoked salmon salad with sweet potato. It free if you use HEA for low fat cheese. I've just attached the image. Absolutely gorgeous.

Yes a little sore and tired - just waiting for dh to pick me up

food was yummy. - chicken Mayo (full fat) drools crisps

and a plate of biscuits

will eat a healthy tea. Dh suggested Chinese. Hmmmm

I’m proud I said no to that

that will be Saturdays treat

DrMadelineMaxwell · 30/08/2022 17:46

I weigh in thurs. It's back to work (school) Thurs too so I need to swap my morning pre breakfast class for a 5.30pm class going forward. Which will impact any loss I manage this week.

I think I'm doing ok. I'm such a die hard weight watcher from pre any 'free' food that this plan makes me nervous wondering how I can eat x or y especially without weighing it and still lose weight.

But I've got another 8 classes free tonsee what difference it does make.

Chicken and salad sandwich on wholemeal bread for lunch (1s for a touch of light mayo) followed by some halo top!

A free dinner of pork and noodles on a ko then an exercise class and the cinema this evening.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 31/08/2022 00:10

So much for plans...ran out of time between exercise class and cinema so I had half a cinema popcorn (salty) for my dinner today!

LightandAiry · 31/08/2022 06:46

takeagamble I can see where your consultant is coming from, anything to think in a positive way. I know I spend too much time thinking about what's gone wrong. That lunch would be very filling.

*Blondeshavemorefun" take good care of yourself, you probably have to do a lot of physio soon?

*DrMadelineMaxwell" I have a teacher friend back to school on Thursday, a break from the very hard work. Salty popcorn is at least low in calories?!

It's a long day at work for me, I have been 4 days on plan, but working from home so at least I am not distracted by office treats. I am looking forward to my Ds going back to uni so that I can reclaim his room as on office. I find Wednesdays difficult on Slimming World, usually go over syns....

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/08/2022 07:49

Why are Wednesdays harder on plan @GettinTrimmer

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/08/2022 07:50

Or even @LightandAiry tagged op automatically

I miss you a trimmer 😂

LightandAiry · 31/08/2022 08:52

I work a long day Blondes, sometimes when I go into the office I am not well organised with food and my job is more of a means to an end so boredom (depends what work I am doing to be fair) kicks in and I am sitting down all day, so notice being a bit peckish!

Hope you are resting.

LightandAiry · 31/08/2022 08:53

Work a long day on Wednesday, shorter days end of week

LightandAiry · 31/08/2022 08:55

On a different note, I am starting yoga this evening!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 31/08/2022 11:31

Hi All
Everyone ok?

Interesting about the yoga @LightandAiry I've booked into a proper class in about a week, as although Adrienne on Youtube is great, I need the discipline of a class, and someone putting me right when I'm not in the correct position. It helps with my balance, but I'll probably need to explain to her about the brain damage, in case it impacts what I do.

@Blondeshavemorefun hope you are healing ok.

@DrMadelineMaxwell same weigh in day as me. Not looking forward to it, but I'm better if I just get on the scales, and face up to the results!

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/08/2022 12:28

Yes feet up.watching trashy tv

dd loving the fact she has free range on iPad tho tbh she’s mainly played letter and number games

Your toes are the same colour as mine! Grin

takeagamble · 31/08/2022 16:38

@blondshavemorefun hope you are feeling better ASAP. Free rain occasionally on device will be absolutely fine.

My weigh in today and 3lb loss and I got slimmer of the week. Was so surprised I've never won it before ha. Only 0.5lb away from half a stone 😵‍💫!

I've just been out to do some hill sprits and think I've just cough up a kidney 🤮.

Am at 20k steps today too! il sleep tonight.

LightandAiry · 31/08/2022 17:55

Well done takeagamble well deserved

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/08/2022 18:08

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 31/08/2022 15:03

Your toes are the same colour as mine! Grin

Ankle surgeon did say it was nide to see nice painted toes instead of manky feet 😂😂

they do need redoing tbh but will have to wait a week or two until can be touched and not hurt

well done @takeagamble

how much has everyone lost

DrMadelineMaxwell · 31/08/2022 19:12

Oh blondes....get well soon.

Vue cinema popcorn is apparently 400 bloody calories for half the tub! Oh my.

I gave dd1 and 2 the choice of something to do each on my last days off. Dd2 chose cinema yesterday. Good evening. Weird film. Dd1 wanted a walk at the country park.
We foolishly tried the car park on the opposite side. Found it didnt join up with the bit we are used to and ended up waling a lot further.
Exercise class for the evening is cancelled my feet are now sore. But at least I know I've done plenty of exercise today!
Fish for tea. Lightly dusted basa fillet from asda!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 01/09/2022 12:21

@Blondeshavemorefun in a previous life, I was a beautician. Always thrilled when people chose fab toe varnish.
@DrMadelineMaxwell I am always horrified at how synny even bare naked popcorn is.
Well done @takeagamble
@LightandAiry you ok today?

Went for a bike ride last night with DH. Could easily have been talked out of going, but actually enjoyed it, but my ankles are a bit still today, as I've done more swimming/walking, and haven't biked in ages. DH is waiting for an op, which means walking is slow/limited, but he's grand on a bike.

In other news, my hols in Ireland has resulted in a small gain. Had I not been swimming and walked a lot would have been worse.

Anybody else not get their Body Magic Awards unless they ask for them? Gets my goat, as other people have theirs presented, and I get mine hastily written, spelt wrong, and thrust at me by the weigh in team!

LightandAiry · 01/09/2022 15:58

Hi all

SpongeBobJudgeyPants yes I'm OK, went to yoga yesterday evening. It went well apart from balance on one leg poses! I was nicely tired and relaxed but woke up in the early hours and was unable to drop back off to sleep! A small gain after a holiday is a result!

How are you doing Blondeshavemorefun - I had my toe nails done for the wedding, they are a pinky red..you weigh in Friday?

DrMadelineMaxwell I thought popcorn was lowish in calories, obviously I've not come across synning it.

Even though I am tired, I am taking myself out to top up my steps as today I'm on a Fitbit challenge.5,034 steps to go!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 01/09/2022 19:27

1lb off.
As that is swapping from a pre breakfast, pre cuppa class to an after work class I'll be happy with that this week.

We have a few tricky weekends coming up soon ( uni visit weekends with stays in hotels) so it is a good incentive to do the best I can this week ahead.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/09/2022 20:45

Well done @DrMadelineMaxwell

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/09/2022 09:10

2lb off. Very happy

rep after buffet

im usually a lb a week girl

thi tomorrow I’m out for an afternoon cream tea and prob Chinese in evening. That’s 19/21 meals I need to be very good at then
