All welcome Smile I joined Slimming World in November and so far lost 9.5lb, a bit of a gain over Christmas but getting there - I have around 3 stone to lose and I am looking forward to fitting into clothes not worn for a long time and have a big family wedding coming up. I would like to look like the slim, glamourous Aunt in the photos (without upstaging the bride!) Grin

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 26/08/2022 22:40

Hi All. Seems like a few of us have been off plan for a bit. I'm just back from Ireland, and I think I waddled off the ferry... Well done @Blondeshavemorefun and @DrMadelineMaxwell that's not at all bad! @LightandAiry when do you weigh in?

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 26/08/2022 22:44

@Noshowlomo hope you've managed to pull it back round!

LightandAiry · 27/08/2022 08:27

I gained 1 lb this week. Not surprising, just read the last page my post about falling off the wagon. I had too much cider last night, now downing cups of tea and water to get hydrated again!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 27/08/2022 08:43

Ok @LightandAiry you can get that off for next week, if you're back on it this week. I've got a few days for damage limitation. And excercise.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/08/2022 08:45

@LightandAiry least you know why Gained and had fun

now back to it

says herself who knows she will be eating buffet birthday party food tonight ….

LightandAiry · 27/08/2022 08:56

One night of buffet party food is OK Blondeshavemorefun you'll pull it back. Have fun.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants that's good a few days to reset. Not sure I'll be doing much exercise today 😁

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 27/08/2022 12:41

Hopefully, Light, but I may have just had some unecessary toast...

LightandAiry · 27/08/2022 14:33

I do like toast! It was my go to food, butter and marmite on it

Carpediem15 · 27/08/2022 14:59

Last 2 weeks were Maintain and I thought I was truly on plan this week. We had a stand in leader today who told us that we can lose at least 2.5lbs week by week if we are 100% on plan !! Anyone think that it is realistic?

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 27/08/2022 15:18

Suppose it depends how near to a realistic goal/target you are. If you are within about a stone, maybe its ambitious.

No

otherwise everyone would lose 2.5lbs weekly

I am now just under 11 stone and want to be maybe just under 10 so according to her I can do this in 6 weeks - I wish.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 27/08/2022 21:24

Maybe if you up the ante on the body magic as well?

Wilma55 · 28/08/2022 10:16

You'd have to be in a calories deficit of 1,250 a day to lose 2.5 lbs in a week. Not gonna happen in my case for sure.

LightandAiry · 28/08/2022 11:43

More exercise as Spongey says.

To gain 1 lb it would be over calories by 500 per day then.

Carpediem15 · 28/08/2022 12:21

She really did get that wrong then, how can anybody have a deficit of 1250 a day, every day. She also said nobody does the plan 100% as they don't count syns correctly and check everything they eat. Glad she is only a stand in as I don't think she is giving out the correct info to us, our regular one is brilliant.

LightandAiry · 29/08/2022 13:03

Ikwym Carpediem15 the consultant makes a big difference.

Blondeshavemorefun hope the buffet at the party went well.

Inspired by our conversation earlier on, I dusted off my old Davina 15 minute fit DVD and did 2 sections. Then walked to Sainsbury's couple of miles. No plans for today but on a sunny bank holiday everywhere will be busy so I'll drag DH out for a walk later.

Hope everyone is doing OK?

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/08/2022 13:41

I wasn’t as good as I should have been but equally I wasn’t as bad as I could have been 😂😂

but was one meal out of 21 so hoping for a loss fri

we are in as have ankle op tomorrow so avoiding people

dd is on iPad. Dh in playroom watching tv. Me in living room

all ignoring each other 😂

your temp consultant sounds crap. I know I don’t go to meetings but have enough friends who do

I was very good last week. Totally on plan and lost 1.5. I counted all syns and measured cereal /cheese rather then Handful guess.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 29/08/2022 17:18

@LightandAiry well done going for a walk.

Consultant makes a huge difference. There are a group of us at current group who are escapees from a fairly useless consultant. Worth travelling a bit further for a good un, but as yours is temporary, I just feel sorry for her regulars. @Blondeshavemorefun well done. Hope tomorrow goes ok.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/08/2022 21:01

Thanks @SpongeBobJudgeyPants

Wonder what hospital food I will get tomorow

takeagamble · 29/08/2022 22:29

Just popping in hope that's ok to introduce myself. New to MN so not sure of etiquette just yet.

I've been at SW for six weeks but more so to keep me from gaining anymore weight as I had two holidays planned and needed the accountability. Since I started I've lost 1lb but actually been on plan properly for two weeks now. Last week 2.5 loss and hoping for 2 this week too.

I was a target member 4 years ago and it took every single bit of willpower to walk back in those doors again heavier than when I started last time.

This week I've managed to get out on two 5k runs and do two weight session in the gym too.

I always feel too embarrassed to share my proud of in group but I'd like to share them here feel free to join in!

So this week am proud of

  1. went out for planned breakfast and didn't go mad. Went straight back on plan afterwards

  2. 4 times of body magic.

  3. 5K in 32 minutes

  4. actually committing to SW properly for two weeks.

  5. husband brought breakfast in bed ( so sweet) but fed the dog the sausages and only ate the free stuff.

  6. turns down cookie dough after tea one night.

  7. alcohol free weekend.

  8. I've meal planned and bought all the shopping ready for the week.

My weigh in is Wednesday and I find really motivating just looking at what am proud of none scalewise.

Hope to get to know you ladies!
