Dry January to Decadent December: Slimming World Support Thread 2022

GettinTrimmer · 03/01/2022 09:40

All welcome Smile I joined Slimming World in November and so far lost 9.5lb, a bit of a gain over Christmas but getting there - I have around 3 stone to lose and I am looking forward to fitting into clothes not worn for a long time and have a big family wedding coming up. I would like to look like the slim, glamourous Aunt in the photos (without upstaging the bride!) Grin

Weighed in lost 1lb. I had hoped for more, as I have been focused all week but it's in the right direction and better than last week.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 23/07/2022 15:49

Every little helps, as the Tesco advert says Grin

LightandAiry · 23/07/2022 18:47

Just back from Tesco but spent more than a little! Brucie bonus for weight loss a surprise Birthday party has been cancelled today. Sadly my friend's DH has Covid & she has lost money on barrel of beer ordered, balloons etc 😓I would have drunk loads of alcohol and had fun. Instead food optimising and drinking sparkling mineral water!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 23/07/2022 19:07

Yes, the SW plan does intefere a bit with the fun things at times. Like cake, in my case!

Carpediem15 · 24/07/2022 16:21

12.5 lbs down now - 10 weeks gone. Thought it might have been more but onward and downward. Put a stone down as my first target but going to move that when I get there and lose another one for my final target so might be about Christmas at this rate.🤔

LightandAiry · 25/07/2022 06:31

Christmas sounds realistic Carpediem I have stalled for a while too.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 25/07/2022 16:32

I think something happens when you start to feel better about your weight maybe, it doesn't seem so urgent? I'm happyish to maintain, lose the odd pound here and there at the moment. Would like to shake a bit for DH's 0 birthday in October, and look better. Don't see people for large chunks of time due to geography, so I should look quite different, as I'm 3 stone down from seeing quite a few people.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 26/07/2022 07:20

Just signed up for Parkrun, well ParkWaddle in my case. I can walk reasonably fast, but DH is coming with, and he's a bit slower.

LightandAiry · 26/07/2022 08:19

BrilliantSpongeBobJudgeyPants I used to do it every week, you can walk it.

I am very focused after the weekend; off out with DD and working out what's best to have for lunch - maybe a cafe Nero fruit pot and a cappuccino, anything else would be very sunny.

I've started from scratch again, bought myself a new 12 week tracker and aiming for 1lb per week on average, taking a big wedding into account and couple of nights away. I looked back and saw I've not lost weight for 4 months, but at least I have maintained what I've lost so far, and without SW I would have gained it back. Onwards and scales going in right direction.

LightandAiry · 26/07/2022 08:20

Synny not sunny!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 26/07/2022 16:23

If only syns were sunny! I found the 12 week tracker useful. Now I have my own version, slightly modified, that I do in a hardback notebook from The Works. Writing stuff in it focuses the mind wonderfully Grin

LightandAiry · 26/07/2022 17:29

I'll have a look in The Works I love a bit of new stationery!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 26/07/2022 17:36

Tis Ladyporn @LightandAiry Grin

LightandAiry · 26/07/2022 17:40

Well....I am randomly watching food porn on Catch Up TV. For some reason Lucy Worsley is talking about Marie Antoinette and arranging French fancies all afternoon tea like Cake

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 26/07/2022 17:41

I luffs Lucy! Have met her, she was great.

LightandAiry · 26/07/2022 18:58

Lucky you! How did you meet her?

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 26/07/2022 19:04

It was a book launch when she did the Queen Victoria one. I'll ping you a piccie, whether you like it or not! Grin

LightandAiry · 27/07/2022 06:09

Yes please do!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 27/07/2022 10:21

I've sent you a pm @LightandAiry

AmISpeakingAnotherLanguage · 28/07/2022 11:15

Can I join? I was doing really well, then the last half term of school took it out of me, I have gained 2.5lbs of the 5lbs I lost back.

Go away in 3 weeks, if I could lose them, and maybe another lb I'd be grateful. We have 3 important birthdays before then LOL. But today instead of just having toast toast toast for breakfast I had fruit which I know I enjoy, so don't know why I don't have it?!

What trackers do people use? Apps or Notebooks. I'm not using an app, just an old book I've had for YEARS.

LightandAiry · 28/07/2022 18:07

Hi AmISpeakingAnotherLanguage and welcome.

Do you like low fat Greek yogurt? To fill you up more I would recommend having it with your fruit to fill up a bit more.

I have just bought myself a Slimming World friendly 12 week food diary it's motivated me nicely. Having said that I had a cappuccino ice cream and a cappuccino earlier on which has taken me well over syns today. I weigh in on Saturday and hope it's not made too much difference!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 28/07/2022 18:24

Hi Speaking.I use a notebook, but i started off with the SW 12 week diary . I adapted the notebook to a version that worked for me. I often have pancakes for breakfast, if I have time, with 0 fat yoghurt and frozen berries.

Carpediem15 · 29/07/2022 13:43

I follow tracymouse on youtube and you can get a template for a daily page for free from there. She shows what she eats every day so I just copied her diary page and it works well.
I have Aldi fat free Greek yogurt with lots of fruit for breakfast as I want to save my slice of bread for a sandwich mid afternoon. 😀

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 30/07/2022 08:18

Just had a look at her Carpe, and subscribed. I put a pound on this week, but had some bad news at the hospital, so not really concentrating. Doing ParkWaddle this morning with DH.

LightandAiry · 30/07/2022 10:33

Brilliant on Park amble SpongeBobJudgeyPants my DH is back from his, but I've been to group. He sickeningly runs it in 30 mins. Sorry about gain that was me 2 weeks ago, it'll shift especially with more Park jog/walk/whatever.

I am very pleased lost 2.5lb this week. My new tracker motivated me in part.

I had a look at tracymouse, impressive lady. I also follow AtHomewithChelle she has some nice recipes & uploads cleaning motivation as well.
