Hope you enjoyed your gin @Blondeshavemorefun!

I'm so tired, I think that's what makes me want to eat all the time. I hate nights. They're not natural.

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 07/09/2019 03:01

@TigerJoy
My tips:
Always have a meal plan, even if you don't stick to it. That way, you're never stumped for what to make so you're less likely to say, bugger it, let's have fish & chips/takeaway/pizza/the entire cheese shelf at Asda.
Write everything down. Even if it hurts to, because it reminds you how many syns you've had.
Weigh out healthy extras, guesstimates are usually a lot more than you'd think!

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/09/2019 08:06

Lovely thanks @dexterslockedintheshedagain

Off to coast today. There will be fish and chips

Sighs

tigerjoy yes, just milk and cornflour. I put the cornflour in a very small bowl and add a tablespoon of milk to make a paste, then DD a couple more tablespoons of milk before adding it to the pan of milk and bringing it to the boil whilst stirring. It's roughly 1/3 - half the syns of a traditional roux and if you steep the milk first you get good flavour.

This morning I'm making syn free pancakes for breakfast.

swissmilk · 07/09/2019 10:50

Where do you buy the powdered peanut butter @WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa ?
Looks a good way to add protein to my breakfast yogurt.

troppibambini · 07/09/2019 11:05

@whattodo2019 they are literally what they say on the tin a baked potato that been done in the oven then frozen, can be quite handy if you're short on time as you can microwave them in about 5 mins and they taste much better than a micro-ed spud. They have about 1 syn because I think there is a bit of oil on them.

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa that looks delicious im also curious about the peanut butter powder would it be good for stirfrys do you think? I've seen it in Sainsburys.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 07/09/2019 12:05

I got mine from Amazon but you can get it in supermarkets, they just tend to differ as to which aisle it would be found!

PON use it for satay so I'd imagine it would deffo work in in stir fry's, and of course you can actually make peanut butter with it. 😊

Hmmmbop · 07/09/2019 21:40

Ooh, peanut butter powder. I bet it makes nice pb milkshakes! How much for 1.5syns?

B- syn free pancakes (hex b), speed fruit, maple syrup (2)
L- salmon, halloumi and quinoa salad 1.5& A)
D- curry, rice and broccoli (1)
S - chocolate (8) 1 alpen light (b), latte A

3A, 1.5B, 10.5 syns.

Currently on 74.5 of 75 syns, so not bad.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 08/09/2019 07:01

One tablespoon which is more than enough to get the flavour across.

We made the SW flatbreads last night which were fantastic and a big hit with the kids too! So versatile.

The kids had me up literally all night. 3yo was I'll and finally fell in to a fitful sleep at 3am and then the baby awoke at 3.30 and wouldn't go back down. Eventually we were all asleep by 5.20am and up at 7.05! So I am exhausted! Would normally binge on sugar and coffee but I have resisted! So pleased with myself.

B- syn free pancakes (b) maple syrup (2) melon yogurt
L - babybel (.5a) hifi bar (.5b) apple
D- lasagna (1a, .5syn) broccoli

I'm about to have 6 syns of chocolate and 2 syns of hot chocolate for my remaining A choice.

I'm dropping my second B choice. Gutted.

TigerJoy · 09/09/2019 22:27

Good luck @hmmmbop!

I've had a rubbish couple of days, doing better today

B- defrosted cherries and yoghurt which looked yuck but tasted nice

L - omelette with parmesan, chicory salad (2 syn for oil)

D - butternut squash pasta (3 syn for oil)

S - chocolate biscuit (3 syn), blueberries, 2 x cappucini (HEA), 30g peanuts (HEB), 1 hifi (3 syn)

I wanted something sweet this evening while watching telly so just made a smoothie with frozen cherries and almond milk. Probably some syns but feeling very virtuous for not having ice cream / chocolate.

MumInTheCity · 09/09/2019 22:52

I was pretty bad over the weekend (hence why I haven’t posted! Blush) In my defence I was offered a new job Friday which I’m really excited about so I was celebrating! Back on the wagon today though and trying to do as much damage control as possible!

L - vegetable sushi (2.5), apple
D - spaghetti bolognese with cheese (HEA) and salad
S - 2 hifi bars (HEB), mini twister lolly (2)

Congratulations muminthecity. Well one for getting back on it TigerJoy.

3.5lbs off, so back on track. 1st 7.5 total.

Of course that means I've gone totally off plan today!

But back on it now after my meat pie and lemon bun.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/09/2019 14:27

Well done @Hmmmbop

B toast b butter 2 marmite fruit

Well done @hmmmbop!

B - porridge with almond milk and honey (2 syn, HEB & HEB)

L - Rocket, tomato salad with balsamic, leftover pasta and butternut squash (3syn)

D - takeaway curry! Mixed grilled meat in a tomato sauce, plain rice, lentil daal, 1 poppadum. Any ideas on syns gratefully received. Except for poppadum (2 syn) feel I made good choices. Feeling really ill and just not up for cooking.

S - 1 hifi (3 syn), 1 apple

TigerJoy · 10/09/2019 20:31

I mean a better choice would have been no curry...

Hmmmbop · 11/09/2019 07:12

What curry sauce was it tigerjoy? Lentil dhal is about 5 syns per portion.

TigerJoy · 11/09/2019 09:15

Not a specific sauce. It was from a nepalese place and was tandoori lamb, prawn and chicken in a thick "gravy". Seemed to be onions, tomatoes - but there wasn't much of it

Hmmmbop · 11/09/2019 09:51

tigerjoy I'd say 2 for the oil in the sauce and 3 for the oil and fat in the meat then personally.

TigerJoy · 11/09/2019 10:40

Thank you so much! So 18 syns for the day - that's almost ok...good to know it's a reasonable choice for the future too (and it was really tasty)
