Morning all,

I'm on day 2! I've been so used to losing weight the low carb way so this goes against all I've learnt about losing weight but my colleagues and a few others have had great results on this so I thought I'd give it a bash.

Also now can't live in a world where I can't have carbs so I'm hoping this won't seem like a diet at all!

Yesterday's menu. Will do a proper slimming world shop this weekend -

B coffee with a splash of whole milk (tiny drop left before I move to skimmed) HexA

L pasta tubes with a slimming world creamy mushroom tomato sauce I found online, salad. Syn free.

D tray bake chicken thighs marinaded in honey (tblspoon) and mustard, rice wine vinegar and soy and garlic. Lime and coriander rice, red onion and peas. Side salad. 3 Syns for the rice and honey? Will have the other half for dinner tonight.

S - fibre one chocolate popcorn bar thing HexB.

Today -

B - Starbucks skinny cappuccino HexA

L - will be tin Sainsburys minestrone soup (2), 1 salad filled pitta HexB

D - same as yesterday.

Does this look ok so far? I'm not the biggest fruit fan though I do like bananas and I've got into the habit of just having a coffee for breakfast. On the days I don't have a cappuccino I'll prob use my HexA for cheese or something.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 29/08/2019 09:26

Looks good to me @supercee!

Yesterday I had:

B- Weetabix (HEb)
L- Chicken Salad (2.5 syns for Nando's Perinaise) and a pack of Ringos (3 suns)
D- Pinch Of Nom Salt & Pepper Chips and Mushrooms (2syns for mayo)

Today I'm having

B- Not sure, still in bed. 😬
L- creamy Chicken and spinach, maybe with courgetti?
D- Nando's style fakeaway - peri peri chicken, with peri chips and some halloumi if I can pick some up today.

TigerJoy · 29/08/2019 11:20

Hello @supercee! that looks great. I'm not a huge breakfast fan but I've found if I don't eat something I end up eating biscuits. I always have ff greek yoghurt and fruit, with a splash of sugarfree syrup (Skinny Syrup from TK Maxx).

I can't live with pasta and potatoes - happy to share some pasta recipes if you like, DH is from Southern Italy so they tend to be quite plain and veggie-based, which works really well with SW. I just have to not add the huge amounts of olive oil I'm supposed to!

Hello @cheeseybeans19 - well done on losing so much so quickly! How did you manage that - did you do lots of SP days? I need to lose 4 stone but would be happy with 2 - currently 11 pounds down.

supercee · 29/08/2019 11:29

Thanks @TigerJoy share away. Pretty much eat anything (which is why I'm here 😆).

I think I'll try and have some mid-morning fruit or maybe a yoghurt to keep any pangs at bay. I love the Muller coconut and vanilla ones anyway so good to see they are only 0.5 syns.

What's everyone's go to's for spread and dressing?

TigerJoy · 29/08/2019 11:38

I'll type some up tonight

Dressings: for chicken, 1 tbsp of sweet chilli sauce (pref low sugar) and the juice of a lime. For anything else I just use oil. For example, 1 tsp of extra virgin olive oil, 3 tsp balsamic, maybe some mustard stirred in. I tried everything else and sometimes you just need oil for the tast!

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/08/2019 13:54

Thanks for white sauces - so dolmio light or Ada’s is 20

So that would be 5 for 4 portions or even 3.3 if manage 6 portions
I shall R.E.M. that

B fruit

L jacket tuna mayo 1 lots of salad and mayo 1

T lasagne with the below jar 😡😡😡😡

So either 9 or 6 syns depending on how many portions it makes

Thank you all x

Better try and make 6 as I can live with 6 syns for dinner

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 29/08/2019 14:52

Seems to be quite large so should easily make 6 portions so 6 syns each

Cooking in ovens now. Will post pic when done

cheeseybeans19 · 29/08/2019 16:21

Thank you @TigerJoy, I’ve not done SP days but try not to go over 10 syns, and I do a good walk 4 times a week, around 5 miles. Was absolutely crap last week though as I had the week off work with my Son and just couldn’t stop eating! Back to work now and he’s back at school so hopefully will get back on track!

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 29/08/2019 18:16

@Blondeshavemorefun
Have you tried making the SW lasagne sauce? It's made with veg stock, quark, potato and butternut squash. I didn't think it could work, but surprisingly, it does! And it's free

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/08/2019 19:51

@dexterslockedintheshedagain no. I love bns

Got back from holiday about an hour ago.
The line is drawn! Haven't weighed myself yet, but from now on I'm focussed on losing the weight I've gained and then more.
Plan, plan, plan!!

MumInTheCity · 30/08/2019 08:06

Was a bit up and down yesterday, could’ve done better but could’ve been worse.

B - banana and mango
L - Thai soy and ginger chicken with rice (in a restaurant - not sure on syns but seemed like a good option)
D - jacket potato, chicken, salad, mayo (2)
S - 2 mini choc chip muffins and half a box of mikado chocolate stick things Blush

Must do better today

TigerJoy · 30/08/2019 11:00

What are the syns of making white sauce? Are they more?

Had ice cream AND peanuts yesterday evening. Must do better.

B: warburtons seeded bagel thin, buttered, scrambled egg (3 syns for butter), nectarine, espresso (1 syn for sugar)

L: prawn vietnamese salad

D: salmon fillet, boiled potatoes, green beans, asparagus

Coming up to my period and just want to eat constantly. Not doing that will be my challenge today!

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/08/2019 15:21

@dexterslockedintheshedagain be brave. Jump on the scales

I lost a lb. fuck knows how - but scraping back my gain from last week

B sw fry up

L ham salad

T chicken and salad in pitta b mayo 1

S crisps 5 fruit

OP posts:
MumInTheCity · 30/08/2019 21:00

Haven’t eaten a thing today. Woke up with an awful stomach bug, vomiting, stomach pains, temperature, the works Sad.

Barely have the energy to type this. Hoping it might pass by tomorrow.

ChangingMyNameFromMUUUUUMMMM · 30/08/2019 21:06

Shamelessly placemarking as about to rejoin SW and need some inspiration.

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 30/08/2019 21:32

I'm back!!!! My own scales tell me I've gained half a stone! Much better than I'd expected. Drank far more than usual, which explains most of it. No more alcohol until November, mine and DH birthday. He's said if I lose 15lbs+ by then , he'll buy me a new frock. How can I resist a challenge like that??!!!!

But back on it, recording everything that passes my lips - if you bite it, write it!

Today:

B - 40g porridge, 200 ml whole milk (HEA X1, HEB) 1tbsp Sukrin gold (free)
S - 2 hard boiled eggs
L - pasta & cheese (2nd HEA)
D - Chicken stir fry with chilli sauce (2 syns)

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/08/2019 21:41

@MumInTheCity oh no. Hope you feel better soon

I would like a bug and lose weight ...... not

@dexterslockedintheshedagain - that’s not bad for a holiday considering I put on 3lbs last week

@ChangingMyNameFromMUUUUUMMMM welcome and good luck

I’m munching on sliced apples at work. They seem to taste better then eating a whole one
