half a pound, not half a stone! (I've lost 1.5 stone total).

MumInTheCity · 26/08/2019 19:23

B - mango
L - beef salad with homemade coleslaw (2)
D - chicken breast with roast veg and micro rice (2)
S - muller light (1), ice pole (0.5), mini chocolate fingers (5.5) and 2 hifi bars (HEB)

Struggling to use my A choice - I don’t like hot drinks, don’t like milk on its own. I sometimes use cheese in my meals (On top of spag bol for example) but not every day. Any other ideas of how to use it?

TigerJoy · 26/08/2019 20:15

@muminthecity

What I've just had for dinner - take a ball of mozzarella, cut into quarters. Wrap each quarter in a slice of prosciutto. Fry in a medium frying pan sprayed with fry light until the cheese is completely melted - turn so all 3 sides have browned. I normally have a salad with it.

You don't have to have your HEA or HEB - I am lactose intolerant (mozzarella is low lactose) and have IBS so high fibre breads are problematic.

I am sick of chicken salad for lunch. Anyone got any good recipes? I tend to make that or tuna salad.

I've been scrolling through these posts looking for ideas but a lot of people seem to eat at home - I'm in an office.

I thought about trying a vietnamese-style beef salad. Any other ideas?

Hmmmbop · 26/08/2019 20:32

B- raisin wheat and milk
L- crustless quiche
D- homemade burger, 2 lamb kofta kebab, 2 halloumi and veg kebabs, salad, potato salad, asparagus (5 syns, 2A,1B)
S- 4 cornflake cluster, 2 mini magnums

2.5A, 2B 20 syns. Could be better, could be worse.

MumInTheCity · 26/08/2019 21:14

@TigerJoy that sounds lovely, I do like mozzarella so will definitely give it a go.

As for lunches, can you have pasta/rice? I love pasta salads, I make tuna pasta, just mixed with light mayo and sweetcorn, or my fave is BLT pasta salad, just chopped bacon, tomatoes and lettuce mixed through some pasta with light mayo.

TigerJoy · 26/08/2019 22:30

Yes I could, i just often have pasta for dinner so I try and have as much speed as possible at lunch.

I will make extra pasta tomorrow evening and try a tuna pasta salad!

TigerJoy · 27/08/2019 11:02

B: 2 egg whites, peaches and yoghurt

L: salad nicoise - black olives (1 syn),cannelini beans, runner beans and tomatoes from the garden, 2 eggs, lettuce, tuna in brine and a dressing of 1tsp olive oil (2 syn), 1 tsp mustard and 3 tsp balsamic vinegar

D: looking for ideas. I'd prefer no carbs tonight - thinking maybe steak salad (tagliata di manzo)

Veggie pasta @TigerJoy or chicken in pitta and salad

OP posts:
TigerJoy · 27/08/2019 16:41

I might try some pitta. I could make some homemade houmous, have a pitta with that and grated carrot and salad. It's what i always used to get from the kebab van as a student to avoid food poisoning!

I've sabotaged myself by eating 3 stupid (yet delicious) biscuits, no idea of syns, plus a very small scoop of carte d'or (probably only 3 syns). Grrrr.

TigerJoy · 27/08/2019 18:09

Ok reeeeeally stupid question but what's the best way to store pitta? I used to freeze and toast it but there's no toaster at work. Can I toast it and freeze it? Freeze it then toast and eat cold but toasted at work? Or just take it in frozen and eat it defrosted? I am the only one eating it and I will not get through 6 in 3 days

MumInTheCity · 27/08/2019 20:22

Crazy busy day today, didn’t actually eat anything until nearly 3pm and was so hungry by then I had a massive lunch and wasn’t all that hungry by dinner time!

B - none
L - jacket potato, tuna, sweetcorn, mayo (2), huge salad and a pack of vegetable sushi (2.5)
D - bachelors pasta n sauce (0.5) with cheese on top (HEA)
S - mini choc fingers (5.5) and 2 peanut hifi bars (HEB)

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/08/2019 22:30

I eat untoasted in a Sarnie - will have tomorrow

But yes freeze and remove when you want one

Maybe buy a small toaster £6.99 Argos for a basic one

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 27/08/2019 22:36

Wow @MumInTheCity I would starve if didn’t eat breakie

I thought pasta and sauce are 5/6syns

Or are batchelor lower then Aldi own etc

OP posts:
MumInTheCity · 27/08/2019 23:16

I rarely eat breakfast @Blondeshavemorefun, I’m just not hungry in the morning. At most I’ll have a bit of fruit, or on weekends I might have a cooked brunch at 11ish.

Bachelors pasta n sauce are lower syns than Aldi, I like the chicken and mushroom one which is only half a syn (and well worth it!)

Hmmmbop · 27/08/2019 23:39

Lost 3.5lbs today. Only 0.5lb until my lowest weight. Unfortunately I'm out lots this week so doubt I'll lose this week.

B- raisin wheats and milk
L- rocket, tomato, walnut, mozzarella salad with orzo, beet hummus and chicken in a lemon and thyme dressing. Slice of cake.
D - steak, potato salad and egg
S - apple, 2 hifi bars, latte

2As, 3Bs 20 syns

TigerJoy · 28/08/2019 03:17

Well done @hmmbop! That's great! 0.5 a pound is nothing and there's no hurry.

@blondes thanks for answering my stupid question. Not allowed a toaster at work after more than one idiot set fire to their toast and the building had to be evacuated.

Weigh in for me tomorrow. Really hoping for a loss. I know I've not been 100%on plan but it's hard when you're away. I have a wedding on Saturday with a sit down meal! Sigh.

I made vietnamese summer rolls for dinner to make up for the biscuits today. 2 syns for sugar in the sauce and peanut garnish but everything else was free.(rice noodles, prawns, mint, coriander salad basically with a spicy lime dipping sauce - I use the BBC good food recipe). Lunch tomorrow is a salad version I prepared at the same time.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/08/2019 18:31

Half a Syn wow. Will have to get some. Thanks

@Hmmmbop. Well done !!!!

36.5 syns for a 440g jar! Confused

MumInTheCity · 28/08/2019 22:31

Awful, awful day today. Have eaten about a million syns. I MUST get back on track tomorrow or I’ll definitely be in for a big gain! Blush

TigerJoy · 28/08/2019 22:52

4.5 pound loss this week! Although I suspect it was partly last week and some water weight obscured it. 11 pounds in total gone in 6 weeks, which isn't too bad.

Pasta bake and half a steak for dinner, then had ice cream, chocolate and a hot chocolate. Had a row with DH and ate my feelings (why I am fat in the first place).

Tomorrow will be usual breakfast, fried rice from out the freezer for lunch, and spaghetti with scallops for dinner (went to iceland and they looked good!). I'll fry up some chopped garlic and chilli, add scallops and a glass of wine, cook until done (a few mins) and wine has mostly evaporated and chuck in cooked spaghetti.
