Hi all! New here and so very motivated Grin

Tomorrow will mark my first completed week of slimming and world and so far so good!

I've not has much speed today:

B: beans, scrambled egg and bacon with fat removed.

L: syn free American style pancakes using oats (b) with strawberries and a little sweetener

D: will be Sainsbury' frozen lamb shanks in a red wine and rosemary gravy. 3 syns! I'll have that with actifry spuds and lots of veg.

I've been eyeing up a mini Colin caterpillar that DP bought. I can't find the syn value but as they're 139 calories I assume it's 7 syns?

So I could have it without going over but I'm worried I'll be disappointed in myself if I do have it. I need to shake that mind set though because I need to learn moderation is key and I'm hoping SW can help with that?!

TigerJoy · 10/08/2019 18:59

@veryouting123 have the mini colin if you fancy it! You're allowed treats - you just have to moderate. Don't feel disappointed for using your syns, you still lose weight.

Well done for your first week and it's nice to have you on here!

B- egg, bacon, tomatoes
L- ham salad (no dressing)

I've fluffed up today too - went to the theatre with my mum and grandma, thought I was being really sensible by eating first and taking hifis for the interval to avoid ice cream BUT then it turns out mum had pre-ordered a cream tea so I had a scone, jam and clotted cream after. Started by just eating half (will power!). Then ate the other half (no will power!).

I'm planning on having the now mythic chicken stir fry for dinner, which luckily is syn-free.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/08/2019 19:28

Welcome @dancemom

@Veryouting123 eat and use your syns. The weeks I don’t or have low syns I don’t lose weight

@TigerJoy drools at cream tea

I’ve eaten a bag of malteaser flats 😳😳

Don’t want to work the syns out

I’m way over with cheese pasta crisps butter

I’m better eating free stuff and syns for treats

I really begrudge 6syns is lunch

Hence my rota of basic menus

And hence this post so that I and others can see other yummy meals

I'm on a weekend of nights, so any semblance of normality is out the window Grin
Went to bed at 7am, got up at 4pm. Had seasoned fries and quorn nuggets before leaving for work, ate more nuggets about 20 minutes ago.
Got SW lasagne for lunch - which will prob be at 1am!
Still, managed to leave the digestives alone!

Love this thread

TigerJoy · 10/08/2019 21:43

@dancemum you are off to a great start!

I am finally eating dinner

However have now cooked stir fry (1 syn for packet rice and 1 syn for sesame oil) AND about to put on a pasta bake (some oil in tomato sauce, light mozzarella and parmesan for HEA) so tomorrow I already have low syn lunch and dinner cooked AND I have a gym trial starting

I need to get back into gear 💪

TigerJoy · 10/08/2019 21:47

@blondeshavemorefun UGH I know what you mean

I would rather have 15 syns worth of haagen daazs belgian chocolate than a stupid sauce or dressing...

MidnightMystery · 10/08/2019 22:05

B- bacon roll
L- breakfast bar
D- Nothing.

Reading all that has made me hungryyyy

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/08/2019 23:07

Hi @Blondeshavemorefun
I work in a custody suite. Just had lunch at 2am Wink

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 11/08/2019 02:06

@MidnightMystery
You're not eating enough! You'll faint! But can't fault a bacon roll

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 11/08/2019 10:15

Morning all! I had a good day yesterday. I had pain au chocolat for breakfast with my family but still stayed within syns so I'm happy. It's what they are there for!!! 😊

Lunch was a frittata, with bacon and potato.

Tea was a garlic pork sizzler from Aldi, some SW Wedges and some of the cauliflower garlic bread that's always on Pinterest etc. I was really impressed by that and will deffo be making again!

Today I'm having frittata for lunch again, with some soup, and for tea I'm having a sweet potato burger with some halloumi and sweet chilli sauce on a tomato and basil bagel thin. I'm proper excited for that. 😂

dancemom · 11/08/2019 11:56

Thank you everyone, had a cheeky weigh this morning which I know I shouldn't after just 2 days but it showed a loss which has spurred me on.

I ended up having some quavers and a curly wurly last night but still well within my syns.

Today I've not had any breakfast just because I've had a long lie.

L - omelette again, it's my favourite!
D - left over stir fry from yesterday

Plus lots of fruit all day to keep me from snacking on anything else. Need to get to Iceland tomorrow for some broghies, I miss savoury snacks.

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 11/08/2019 13:17

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa your tea sounds bloody lush!
So far today I've had

SW lasagne
Pasta and cheese
Branflakes and milk.

Far too many carbs, minimal veg and no fruit, I know. But it's made me happy!
No digestives. Yay!

TigerJoy · 11/08/2019 16:34

Really not hungry today, had to force myself to have some yoghurt and strawberries before going to the gym. Then went straight to aldi and bought double what I needed as I was so hungry! Also no list. Schoolgirl error.

Anyway just had leftover fried rice at 4.30!!!! Now need to find somewhere to put all this bloody food....

Dinner will be pasta bake and I will start eating vast quantities of fruit today to get through it all...1kg of cherries...

MumInTheCity · 11/08/2019 23:34

Hope it’s ok to jump on here, I’ve just rejoined (again 🙄) this week and really want to stay motivated! Meals today were:

B - Apple
L - pasta n sauce (0.5) with cheese (HEA) and broccoli
D - Tesco Beef Brisket in gravy (1) with roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips and peas
S - 2 peanut bars (HEB) and a mini twister (2.5)

dancemom · 12/08/2019 13:58

Today

B - none as had a 9am appt
L - wholemeal toast (B) with laughing cow cheese (Part A) chicken, ham, grapes, cucumber and blueberries
D - not sure yet but possibly LM sausages, baked potato and veg

Back to work tomorrow where it's hard to avoid cakes and chocolate and invited to lunch but so determined to loose this excess weight again!

Ofpalestsilver · 12/08/2019 14:13

B: I had two soy milk cappuccinos. I did try an almond milk one and it was foul. Is oat milk a healthy extra? I haven't managed to find out yet! I'm normally a supporter of breakfast as I think it's the best idea for helping with weight loss but I just wasn't hungry.

L: Baked sweet potato with mixed beans, pickled cabbage and tuna mayo (maybe 4 syns since I don't know what mayo was used) It was delicious.

D: No idea. Something low in syns because I was in Spain at the weekend and it was very tasty! Kinda fancy a ramen / noodle soup type dish so maybe rice noodles, baked tofu, mangetout with a spicy broth made from stock cube, miso paste and chilli.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/08/2019 14:42

Sorry went awol yeustsu. At friend. Ate bad stuff including garlic bread but said no to cake !!!

Slight change of plans

Now making sw chips. Everyone raves about them. We shall see. They are chips lol

Also making a Spanish ommlette for breakfast - so will just reheat. Trying to redeem myself lol

dancemom · 12/08/2019 21:42

I ended up having the sausages for dinner so 2 syns with baked potato and veg.

Tonnes of fruit today too.

Come on the weight loss 🤞🏼

Ofpalestsilver · 12/08/2019 22:28

@dancemom what are LM sausages... Linda’s?

I had a feckin delicious bowl of rice noodle soup. Couple of syns for a squirt of siracha. It was so delish. Pic doesn’t do it justice imo;)

Daily menu - please come and write what you eat
twinkledag · 12/08/2019 23:44

Hi I'd love to rejoin SW but haven't done it for ages, what has changed? I used to do the extra easy plan with 15 syns 😀

TigerJoy · 13/08/2019 00:09

@blondeshavemorefun don't worry, we all have times like that!

I have been ok today

B fruit and yoghurt as usual

L asian prawn salad: prawns, spring onions, tomato, cucumber, lettuce with coriander, mint, lime juice, mirin and sesame oil dressing. Lush

D: small portion of homemade pasta bake, small steak and salad

Snacks: lots of fruit, 2 hifi plus a lush chocolate brownie at work, which I think was all my syns!

dancemom · 13/08/2019 07:56

@Ofpalestsilver yes Linda McCartney, there are 2 types, vegetarian and rosemary & onion. I couldn't remember which ones were which syns, can anyone enlighten me?

I didn't have any other syns yesterday so didn't matter too much.

Today I'm going to Nando's for dinner, would love to have a pitta or wrap and some piri piri fries but will stick with their salad. Will have to google and see what syns that is.

I know I'm only 5 days in but it's been so easy to stick to the plan. I'm definitely better following a plan than just trying to eat better myself.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/08/2019 09:01

@dancemom I would use the Pitta as your b. Yes they are meant to have x amount of fibre to make a b - but I often go by the 6syns rule and have a pitta for a b and sure chicken and plain rice would be ok

My frittata was actually nice even without cheese. Want that for lunch

Nice to just reheat and breakie done in few mins rather then cook an ommlette etc

I have the rosemary and red onion sausages. Yummy and sure free

B frittata and beans and apple

L veggie pasta bake cheese a

T chicken stir fry. I have a packet of stir fry veg so will attempt it and prob noodles and soy sauce

S fruit crisps 5 alpen light 3

Alpen do a light choc bar for 3. Have a feeling 2 are a b but I usually use b as bread

Any simple receipts for stir fry. Or do I literally cook chicken and veg in pan
