Ok. Thank you.

Alemonypea, I didn't realise I was supposed to cut down and replace with a third of speed. I better sort that out!

Plus I thought beans were the 'p' part of sp, not the speed part. I'm obviously very confused. 😗

obrigada · 10/08/2017 10:15

Morning all, joined the thread a couple of weeks ago but haven't posted since. Had my third weigh in this week, lost 2lb. Stayed the same on 2nd weigh in, but lost 3 and a half pound first weigh in.

I am vegetarian and wondered if there are any other vegetarians on this thread?

OrianaBanana · 10/08/2017 11:27

@caremummy it looks like 5tsps of olive oil for ten syns.

Back from holiday, done some binging, back on plan today (weigh in tomorrow, will take it on the chin and get on).

B - overnight oats with fruit, banana, coffee
L - salad, free mugshot
D - 2 syn fish cake with speed veg of some kind (whatever's in the fridge/freezer). No potatoes but might have a bit of rice as it has a bit of cheesy sauce in it.
S - hifi, flat white (2nd HExA), speed fruit

Just done an on-plan Tesco shop and weekly meal plan.

Hope everyone's ok x

Groovee · 10/08/2017 12:07

Good luck at weigh in @OrianaBanana

Welcome @UnwiseOldElf

Well done @obrigada

Just made bacon and Broccoli soup with a hint of chilli. It's amazing!

OrianaBanana · 10/08/2017 12:11

Sounds amazing @groovee! Have you a link to the recipe?

Groovee · 10/08/2017 12:39

I adapted my recipe as I couldn't find a sw friendly one.

Bacon and Broccoli soup with a hint of chilli.

I used
4 slices of bacon, fat removed
1 broccoli stalk and head
2 potatoes peeled and diced
1lt veg stock
1/4 tsp of dried chilli
1 onion, peeled and chopped

Fry up the bacon and onion in fry light. Then Add potatoes, chilli, broccoli and stock and bring to the boil for around 40 minutes. Then blend.

If using a soup maker use on chunkey mode and blend for seconds afterwards.

Very yummy and syn free.

Hi all, just noticed this thread so hope I'm ok to join in!

Third time at SW but this time I'm sticking to it. Down 1 stone 5 so far (since January) as I've been struggling for a few months but think I'm back on track now and managed a 2.5lb loss this week. Also part of our group's social team so I think that's keeping me motivated to show up each week. We have a really friendly group though so I know that helps so much as well. Smile

Groovee · 10/08/2017 13:20

Welcome Bloo

OrianaBanana · 10/08/2017 13:45

Hi bloo! Well done on your loss so far.

NeverEnoughSleep1 · 10/08/2017 15:08

Welcome Bloo

FoofFighter · 10/08/2017 17:12

It vegetarian but do eat veggie at least a few days a week :) more for cost tbh

UnwiseOldElf · 10/08/2017 18:18

Hello @Groovee and @Bloo. The soup recipe sounds good - must try it! Day 2 here. I think it's going to take me a while to get my head around what's a "syn" and what's "hexa" and "hexb" but the books and the online database are really useful. It all seems very balanced and sensible and I'm liking it so far (but very early days, obvs!)

latedecember1963 · 10/08/2017 20:46

We are pescetarian (not sure about spelling. Never eat meat but do eat fish once or twice a week. SW adapts really well to vegetarian cooking.

NeverEnoughSleep1 · 10/08/2017 23:33

I've managed to have an SP day today which I'm quite pleased about, I had SW burgers with spinach mushrooms onions and sweet corn and it was really good and I didn't miss having any chips on the side to nibble on which I thought I would

I'm actually quite proud that when I was out today I picked up a takeaway for DP on the way home and didn't get myself anything one of my favourites because I'm determined to try and lose 3.5lb to hit my stone target not sure how do able that is but I want to give it my best shot

FoofFighter · 11/08/2017 08:05

sweetcorn isn't suitable for sp but it won't make much difference to your day lets face it :)

Groovee · 11/08/2017 08:31

Seeetcorn isn't speed or protein.

NeverEnoughSleep1 · 11/08/2017 08:40

Shock isn't it? So sweet corn is basically nothing of any value on SW? Feel a little disappointed now but thanks for letting me know Smile

Trills · 11/08/2017 08:46

nothing of any value

Well, it's a free food, and it's a vegetable. And you might like how it tastes. Don't all of those things have value?

Personally I see sweetcorn as primarily a vehicle for butter, which is not very SW.

BasinHaircut · 11/08/2017 10:03

Ha ha trills that's how I feel about bread!

Mmmm butter.

I was totally off plan yesterday for DS's birthday. And there will be cake and stuff at the weekend. Oh well.

OP posts:
FoofFighter · 11/08/2017 10:35

Oh yes bread is my vehicle for butter too Grin

Off to town so will get either subway salad or a baked tattie somewhere

FoofFighter · 11/08/2017 10:35

Babycorns are speed though

crazycatgal · 11/08/2017 10:43

Hi everyone, weighed in today with a 1.5 loss meaning it's a 5.5 loss in 2 weeks. DP has lost a whopping 1 stone 4.5 pounds in 2 weeks and has less to lose than I do!

Groovee · 11/08/2017 10:44

I'm exhausted just now. I have a family member being all passive aggressive about the fact we're not free this weekend to do endless activities that she wants to do.

I'm not even sure I'll be ready to go back to work next week. This surgery has taken it right out of me.

Had a fruit Omelette for breakfast, bacon and Broccoli soup for lunch and turkey burgers for tea. It's about the best I can manage just now.

Groovee · 11/08/2017 10:46

Sweetcorn and corn on the cob is free. Just not speed which helps your weight losses. I did see someone had been using sweetcorm and peas as their speed last week not realising it wasn't speed.

Groovee · 11/08/2017 11:00

These are handy for SP days
