I really need to get back on slimming world. I'm having under my calories (finished today with only having a sandwich, crisps and a biscuit) and I'm fine with it as I did lose the last 2 weeks where I have done this, but it's no good for me SadSadSad

FoofFighter · 09/08/2017 16:57

Come on turquoise you can get back onto plan, what you're doing isn't sw.
Start now, go and write down and prepare if you can, your food for tomorrow

TurquoiseOwl · 09/08/2017 16:58

I want my final target to be 9:13 (yes, I know that's very optimistic Grin and I'd never put that as my target at slimming world yet) and what's kind of sad is I haven't been that weight since primary school Sad being fat has actually ruined my childhood. I know that sounds extreme, but it really has...

Losingthewill8 · 09/08/2017 16:59

Ok, thank you. I just don't know whether I HAVE to always have free/speed/super speed with every meal?

TurquoiseOwl · 09/08/2017 16:59

@FoofFighter - thank you Smile I think I will definitely do a SW day tomorrow.

TurquoiseOwl · 09/08/2017 17:01

@Losingthewill8 - they say 1/3 of your plate is the best. However, I haven't done that at all yet (been doing it 5 weeks) and lost 1 st 8.5 lbs, but I did bring it up in group and my consultant said don't worry about it if you are losing, it's just recommended to help with your weight loss. It's definitely recommended but isn't a must.

Groovee · 09/08/2017 17:03

Turquoise get your books out and plan the next week of meals. Try new recipes and try different healthy extras and syns. You can do it. You need to look at this as a lifestyle change and not a diet.

You don't have to Losing but SW encourage it.

Losingthewill8 · 09/08/2017 17:04

Oh, ok, thank you very much.

TurquoiseOwl · 09/08/2017 17:04

Thank you @Groovee Smile yes, that's a good idea to plan your meals for the week.

ibuiltahomeforyou · 09/08/2017 17:30

To add, @TurquoiseOwl, one aspect of losing weight is definitely coming to terms with the emotional side, and that is huge. So, forgiving yourself for any missed opportunities, being kind to yourself and reconciling your childhood with now.

I know it sounds grand but that was massively important to me - both thanking myself for starting to reverse my weight gain, and learning that I had to stop being an emotional eater. It was only once I did that I was able to start seeing food just as food rather than as 'naughty' or 'good', or a reward.

Losingthewill8 · 09/08/2017 18:01

Ok. I'll do that. It just seems that sometimes it looks like a beautiful meal, then I have to add some random veg which I don't always think 'go' with the main meal.

mrskitty15 · 09/08/2017 18:08

Hello, I just wanted to join the thread if that's ok please Smile.

I have been with Slimming World since January, I was going to groups but I have now transferred to online as I am just over 8 weeks pregnant and didn't want to go to a group when pregnant. Is there anyone else on here doing or has done SW during pregnancy?

Groovee · 09/08/2017 18:39

Welcome Miss Kitty, Congratulations on your pregnancy.

emwithme · 09/08/2017 18:46

Losing you kind of work out what speed veg goes with what. My standards are mushrooms (sometimes on their own, sometimes mixed with chopped onion and peppers) and spinach (which is so easy to cook - just pour a boiled kettle over it into a pan and then drain), as well as things like courgetti and butternut squoodles.

Positive yay for the MAAT! I'm waiting for my certificate to come - got the result of my final assessment a couple of weeks ago and then got the confirmation last week. It's so nice having the time I would've been studying to do stuff sit on my arse on the sofa .

I'm being lazy for taster tomorrow. I've got a pack of king prawns and a pack of baby plum tomatoes.

FoofFighter · 09/08/2017 21:23

It's a good habit to get into having a third speed veg/fruit on your plate as it naturally limits food consumption and let's be honest here there's not many meals at all that you probably wouldn't put it with, beans on toast is a good example I guess.

It's all about how you approach Sw, for me I feel if I cheat the plan then I'm not on plan and why bother attending if I'm not going to do it properly? I'm only cheating myself.

ALemonyPea · 09/08/2017 21:26

Losing, you should be replacing a third of your usual portions with speed foods, not adding it on. So if your plate hasn't got a third speed, remove and replace.

Turquoise, you can do it. Step away from the chocolates.

TurquoiseOwl · 09/08/2017 21:31

@ALemonyPea - no chocolates in sight, lol. Just been doing calories instead, which is clearly a diet and not lifestyle change! Sad must get back into SW though, still pleased as I've lost but clearly joined slimming world for a reason and not just doing any diet Grin

TurquoiseOwl · 09/08/2017 21:35

Thanks @ibuiltahomeforyou Smile

ALemonyPea · 09/08/2017 21:36

Ah yes, I meant biscuits. I love a good biscuit.

caremummy · 09/08/2017 21:44

Im planning doing a week of SP, could anyone tell me how many ml of olive oil I can have for 10 syns I've been locked out the app.
My plan is
Br:overnight oats/fruit salad
D: salad with mixed beans (&olive oil)
T:salad/stir fry/vegan SP cottage pie

caremummy · 09/08/2017 21:46

Pressed too soon. I rlly want to get into the 10 stone bracket by next WI - week Saturday and get my half stone. 💚 to you all

mayathebee · 09/08/2017 21:47

Hi, sorry to join the thread then disappear but we are on our first caravan hol in the lake district and reception is a bit hit and miss. Well done for all the losses and great exam and AAT results.

I started following the sw plan at home last week and lost 4.5 lb in my first week which i was really pleased with. It has been much harder this week but I think I have stayed within my syns everyday - with a huge effort as DP and DCs have been tucking into cakes, ice creams and fish and chips! I haven't been able to stick to the 1/3 speed rule but I've been making sw friendly packed lunches and dinners, truing not to eat too many cafe meals and we have been doing loads of walking. I'm hoping I won't put the 4.5 lb straight back on! Wish me luck.

Trills · 09/08/2017 21:56

1 1/2lb on, not too surprising after this weekend.
Back on it.

Trills · 09/08/2017 22:03

If you find that green veg "doesn't go", how about a bowl of tomato, red onion, celery, cucumber, with salt and balsamic vinegar?

UnwiseOldElf · 10/08/2017 08:45

Can I join? I started on Tuesday with weigh-in and then 100% on plan from yesterday onwards. I did try SW a year ago but took a stand-in consultant's positive comment to me the wrong way Hmm and bailed. (Yes I realise I have ishoos.) Anyway - I'm back, and determined to do this! It's going to be a long journey as I have about six (SIX) stone to lose... but I think I'm in the right frame of mind this time.
