PA that is a really inspiring attitude!

ALemonyPea · 26/07/2017 19:05

Well done losers, and a massive congratulations PA.

I need to stop binging on a weigh day. Love it at the time, but wake up with bingers regret every Wednesday and spend the day feeling sorry for myself.

Went to the cinema today and was really good, took a packet of propercorn for 4 syns while DC had nachos dripping in cheese sauce.

For those struggling at the minute, remember why you're doing it. What I found helped me when I was losing hope, was to look on the graph on the SW page of my weight loss and I loved seeing it go down and looking at the estimated date of my target from that.

One meal at a time, you'll get there.

BasinHaircut · 26/07/2017 19:20

PA what wise words!

boat yeah having bread doesn't seem rIghtt at all in a low carb day I agree! And if I'm honest I don't think it would work for me, I don't really have any bread when I'm on plan as it basically cancels out any good I'm doing!

I am planning on trying and SP day soon and I'm thinking weetabix and nuts will be my 2 HEXBs.

I find it hard when I'm away as alcohol is more of a temptation - also I can't control how things are cooked easily so usually have to have fruit n yoghurt breakfast - if it's a sandwich or buffet lunch I struggle as gluten free and the GF option I'd usually not SW friendly
For example on Monday I was offered a ham and tomato sandwich on White GF bread which was so awful I ate the slice of ham and 2 slices of tomato - I was then so hungry I ended up snacking on the train and eating too much in the evening

Trills · 26/07/2017 21:56

5lbs off in my first week!

I know that first weeks are often extra good so I won't expect it again.

Had a lovely chat with one of the other attendees.

Trills · 26/07/2017 21:58

I have bought some of the bars to try them - I have not always been particularly wanting my hexb so to turn it into a chocolatey treat seems like a pleasant thing to do.

(I am not a very breakfasty person and don't eat cereal often)

Groovee · 26/07/2017 22:05

Well done Trills.

Jace that's hard. Not sure what to suggest as I'm not too clued up on GF.

Trills · 26/07/2017 22:14

Jace if you're working away could you get hold of a decent amount of nice things to have on the train into work and the train back? Something from M&S at a train station? So even if there's not much at the office/conference that is appealing you won't be too starving and you know you'll have something soon?

OwlinaTree · 26/07/2017 22:22

Well done losers, some great losses this week.

Had a BBq last night at a friend's. Decided to take pimms to drink with diet lemonade as nice and summery but lower cal than wine etc. Had a burger and a sausage, bit of salad etc. Later in the evening I did start picking, I'll be honest, the effect of the booze!

Been on the loo all day today though so I think I ate something a bit dodgy! Massive hangover this morning too, but did manage to stay on plan and resist the bacon sandwich! Great night though, totally worth it!

Trills · 26/07/2017 22:23

If you eat the strawberries and cucumber from your Pimm's do they count as Speed Food? :o

OwlinaTree · 26/07/2017 22:32

Definitely!

Orlandointhewilderness · 27/07/2017 01:22

first weigh in tonight - lost 7 1/2lb!!! thrilled. have found it so easy!

ibuiltahomeforyou · 27/07/2017 05:04

Well done @Orlandointhewilderness!

JaceLancs this time, for me, the key is military-style preparation and I wonder if that could be really helpful for you, too.

If I am going somewhere, I often pack a SW-friendly picnic if I'm not sure what the food will be like. So something like, say, steak and rocket salad. Then I can eat something that pretty much stays fresh all day. If you are GF no one is going to bat an eyelid if you ask breezily for a plate (or just whip out a lunchbox!). I'm guessing if lunch is sandwiches it's not too formal anyway.

Then, I keep a bag of almonds in my bag and have a small handful and some water as a snack as my HEXB rather than having to fork out if I'm hungry.

Also if you are in hotels, don't be shy about asking for things to be cooked/prepared in a different way. Restaurants are definitely trickier as the kitchen is under greater strain but hotels are better set up (and frankly more flexible) about asking for changes. All the better if you can ask in advance.

Other than that, I save all my syns at the moment for evening/weekend when I'm less likely to be the person cooking.

Groovee · 27/07/2017 06:51

Well done Orlando.

BasinHaircut · 27/07/2017 11:38

Couple of fantastic first week losses there ladies we done!

I'm thinking of calling target. I have been bouncing around the same weight since April and although I haven't been strictly on plan for 100% of any week, I am clearly struggling to lose any more and I also know I can maintain this weight. I'm in a healthy BMI and am feeling fairly good. I think the work I need to do now is mainly through exercise rather than weight loss (although I need to keep to SW ways to maintain this weight I am now) and I reckon I will continue to lose a small amount of fat, I'm hoping to gain muscle as I'm lifting weights so unlikely to show on the scale. I think focusing on losing those last few pounds might be counterproductive to what I am trying to achieve.

Go for it Basin x

NeverEnoughSleep1 · 27/07/2017 13:05

Has anyone tried the SW chilli? Thinking about making it tonight but I really want something nice so worried about it being disappointing

Groovee · 27/07/2017 13:06

I like it @NeverEnoughSleep1. It's good as you can leave out the fresh chillis and have a milder one or add more spices if you want it hotter. I often do it in the slow cooker.

NeverEnoughSleep1 · 27/07/2017 13:10

Thanks groove think I'll give it a try any suggestions on extra speed I can have to go with it

Groovee · 27/07/2017 16:49

I usually put mushrooms and onions, babycorn and green beans in. I can't eat peppers as they trigger my reflux.

Then have broccoli rice or salad with it x

ALemonyPea · 27/07/2017 16:58

Well done on your first week loss Trills and Orlando.

Basin, go for it if you think that's the way to go. You can always change it later on.

JaceLancs · 27/07/2017 18:36

Eating out again tonight - hoping I can find a prawn starter - fish main - something fruity for dessert and will use my syns for a gin n diet tonic

PositiveAttitude · 27/07/2017 18:48

The chilli is a favourite that we have about once a fortnight here. Definitely yum!

Basin congratulations on doing so well and I understand why you are calling target, I think it's sensible and will keep you motivated to do the exercise.

I am feeling a little deflated here. After my 5 stone award I was feeling darn chuffed and really good about myself. I am fitting in smaller clothes and feeling more confident all round. The today I met with a friend who will be joining SW next week. In conversation she said she had been weighed at the Drs this week and she when she told me how much she weighs it's a whole stone less than I weigh now, and yet when I look at her I think she looks heavier than I feel that I look. I must be seeing my self all wrong. My head is really screwed with all this. SOmetimes I can look at myself and think I look OK, then I will look another time and I just see myself as fat again. I am now thinking that it is the fat version that must be what other people see!! It's a bit depressing that I will probably need to lose at least another 3 stone to look normal. (but I feel normal now!!!! ) I am really going round and round in circles. Does anyone else understand what I mean, or not? I know i had a shed load to lose, I am now at the stage, after losing 5 stone of still being where most people start at! Depressing to say the least!! Sad

BasinHaircut · 27/07/2017 18:56

Thanks all. Yes I'm thinking target now and can always reduce it in the future. But if I was this weight forever I think I could live with it and am much more worried about fitness etc now.

PA you need to be kind to yourself! You have achieved so much. Don't compare yourself to others and where they might start, compare yourself to pre-SW you and be proud.

The chilli was good thankfully a little watery so next time think I'll just add less water when cooking, have plenty left over to freezer into meals so that's an extra bonus

Had a really low syn day today so going to go to bed early with an options hot chocolate
