Thanks lemony so 3.5 for half I think that would be worth it!

Groovee · 06/06/2017 19:24

-1.5lb this week taking my loss to 2st 10.5lb in 22 weeks. 🎉🎉

OwlinaTree · 06/06/2017 19:30

Well done losers! Half a lb off for me. Right direction but was a bit fed up, it's so slow coming off now.

Not sure what to do to change things, don't really want to do SP evening meals as like having meals with dh. Might try reducing some of my portions and seeing if I'm still feeling full enough, eg have 2egg omelette instead of 3. I eat a lot of fruit too!

The other alternative is to just call target and stop. I really would like to lose another 7-10 lb but at this rate it will take me months!!

BasinHaircut · 06/06/2017 19:46

Good day for losses on here then!

owl could you cope with half a lb a week for 4-5 more months? If that's what you want then just think you could be there well before Xmas. If you think of it like that it doesn't seem to far away.

I worked out I've been messing about losing and gaining the same 4lbs for over 3 months but I'm 2lbs off target now and I'm so glad I didn't give up.

Ok so confession time....there was cake at work today. Carrot cake with passion fruit frosting. I did indulge. Dinner is chicken with mushroom risotto and green beans. I'm looking forward to it.

OwlinaTree · 06/06/2017 19:53

I could basin, but I'm aware that there are things coming up now. Camping this weekend, hen party next weekend, then a wedding, a night out with friends and another wedding before the summer holidays. I'm winding down the breast feeding so I'll be starting to drink alcohol again at some if these events. I feel like if I'm only losing half when I'm actually sticking to it, I'm going to be sts or gaining all these weeks when I'm doing fun stuff.

I'm happy to eat what I'm eating now for ever in some ways, but I'm wondering if I've got to do something drastic to keep losing, and if so, am I prepared to do that? I'll give it another couple of weeks and see where I am with it I think.

Hello everyone, I've really missed you all! I've been in rural north Wales since a week last Friday where the internet connection has been patchy to put it mildly.
Positive Attitude your photo looks fab. Hope you have a good night at your concert.
Em, I'm guessing from your posts that you're pregnant. Congratulations. With DS1 I lived on tinned tomatoes, fishfingers and peanut butter for the 1st trimester.
Owlina, your post about thinking thin thoughts as you queue to be weighed made me laugh as DH's parting comment to me on WI day is " think thin".
I WI in Wales last week & STS which I was a bit meh about but better than a gain. The weather's not been great which has meant fewer beach walks than usual & DS2 has been revising hard so I've not had my usual walking buddy.
I got back this afternoon & have made a syn free tea. I could WI tomorrow but I think I'll hop on my scales in the morning and see how I'm doing. I'd booked this week as holiday so I don't have to go.
I've rambled on, but like I said earlier I've missed the camaraderie of you all!

ALemonyPea · 06/06/2017 20:59

Well done on the losses.

Owl, I have changed my target so many times, well 4, as I can't decide where I want to be. It was a stone lower than it is now when I was losing well before Christmas, but when I started losing half a lb a week, I changed it to what it is now, and although I would ideally like to lose that extra stone, I am happy where I am, and feel that it would be more manageable weight for now. Plus I don't think I can plod on losing small amounts to get there, so target will be called when I get to the amount I've specified, and after the summer, I think I'll try lose a further half a stone before Christmas. You have to make a target you'll be happy with.

Hope that makes sense and isn't too long winded. My BMI when I'm at target will be 26.1, which is still overweight, so I'd ideally like to be in a healthy BMI. That will be reached when the DC go back to school in September. I have a holiday to do first.

OwlinaTree · 06/06/2017 22:12

Thanks lemony. I'm wondering whether to call target in a couple of weeks and then see how it goes. I have a feeling that I'll never be totally happy tbh, but I need to choose something healthy and maintainable and stick to it and learn to love my body!

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 06/06/2017 22:26

I was asked to set my end target on week one.
I've set my target weight over my healthy bmi range, bmi says my top weight should be 10st 10lb, but I struggled last time I was at that weight so have set target at 11st 10lb instead which would be 26.5 bmi. I'm slightly miffed that if I manage to lose over 6 stone I'll still be in the overweight category.

Question if you get to 9pm and you haven't used any syns, do you eat something just for the sake of it or just have none that day?

Groovee · 06/06/2017 22:42

We started a new routine at Burlesque tonight. Loving the exercise it gives me.

ALemonyPea · 06/06/2017 22:51

Minnies, I'll have lost 7 stone when I get to target. I was a right porker.

I'd be reluctant to have something this late, food cut off for me is 7pm, or I'd not stop.

Groovee, I really want to do Burlesque but can't find anyone to come to a class with me.

OP posts:
MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 06/06/2017 23:08

Wow ALemony that's great, really hope I can do that too. Have you found you've had to reduce the amount you eat as you get smaller?

I'm at my weakest in the evening and so I tend to save my syns for them but yesterday realised it had gone nine and I hadn't used any. Consultant said i have to use 5 syns but it just seemed to bizarre to eat something for the sake of it, so I didn't use any yesterday.

Have any of you had announcements in your groups? My consultant has sent a message asking everyone to stay to group this week as she has an announcement to make. Just curious.

Groovee · 06/06/2017 23:21

Only thing my stand in consultant mention was the sausage syn values changing.

@ALemonyPea would you go yourself? I find the class full of banter and we all go along from getting to know each other at class.

useyourimagination · 07/06/2017 06:58

Still not a perfect day but I think I'm getting there - better than yesterday and I've planned ahead again with plenty of fruit and a packed lunch all sorted.

I'm struggling with my syns though - I don't seem to be able to stop at just one or two treats. I know this is where I'm falling down and I will get there. I've already made little changes. Weigh in is Sunday although I might change it to Mondays.

I don't go to meetings - does anyone else here do just online?

Groovee · 07/06/2017 07:37

Imagination, what do you use your syns on?

ALemonyPea · 07/06/2017 08:41

My portion sizes have reduced enormously Minnie. That's because my appetite has as well. Smaller portion sizes do help I suppose.

WRT 5 syns, you should ideally have this minimum a day but the odd day here and there where you have none should be ok.

Groovee, I'm not confident enough to go places by myself. I'm quite shy and self conscious.

Imagination, what do you use your syns on? If it's just treats, could you do a little tray/plate of syns for the day and go to that when you're feeling you need to. That way your syns for the day are there and you'll not be tempted to snack more. Try snacking on fruit and veg between meals if you're hungry.

OK, so I need to give myself a friendly kick up the butt.

I am being kind to myself. I am growing a person, FFS. But I don't want to gain all the weight back so I am trying to eat like a "normal" pregnant person. So it's ONE ginger biscuit at a time (and it generally works), it's ONE bag of crisps (rather than crisps AND chocolate AND...), but if I want it, I work out whether there's a "healthier" version that will work for me and go with that. If not, then I have what I want.

This is my before and after - total loss from heaviest to target - 100 lbs (7 stone 2), 4 stone of it in the 18 months I was doing SW this time round.

My portions are definitely smaller (except when it comes to a roast dinner, I bloody love roast potatoes). There aren't many days where I don't have some syns (because I use them for things like sauces with my meals etc) but I don't eat for the sake of it.

My target weight is also "overweight" (27.2). However, at this weight I am a comfortable size 12 (well, except the boobs), I managed to maintain it comfortably from reaching target in November to my first BFP in February, and then got back into target once the MC happened (just in time to get another BFP). My doctor is really happy with the target weight I've chosen, says that if I wanted to lose another stone or so that would be fine but not much more than that (I am big built, large shoulders etc) so the size I am looks fine.

Thought I had posted yesterday but I must have dreamt it Grin weighed in yesterday and STS but I am only 2lbs away from target now (set to give me a BMI of 21.5). I've found my losses have slowed down a lot now I'm close to target but I suppose that's quite normal but very frustrating

ALemonyPea · 07/06/2017 10:11

Em you look fab.

Well done on the loss Dave.

I'm away on holiday at moment and really struggling
Just had fruit natural yoghurt and black coffee for breakfast but it will go down hill rest of day
I've been on SW for 6 months and very slowly lost nearly 3 stone
This is my 3rd hold whilst on SW holiday 1 walked miles was really good and still lost 2.5
Holiday 2 walked a lot but drank more than my syns and gained 1
This week I just can't get head in right place and am drinking eating cakes ice cream chips etc
Help!!!!!

Notlostjustexploring · 07/06/2017 11:28

Imagination, I had a similar problem in that I just kept eating more and more of my low syn snacks so that I might as well have just had a cream cake and cookie and Mars bar instead of my body weight in Skips and Curly Wurlys.
I've been honest with myself, and know that, certainly at the moment, I simply can't do moderation. If I could, I wouldn't be here. So at the moment, I simply can't eat syns as snacks, but instead incorporate them in meals, mostly to get out of the habit of mindless snacking, of which I am past master!
Well, I say at the moment. I've managed five days, following a less than stellar performance at SW!

I was actually thinking about my snacking issue last night, and realised that my default waking state seemed to be eating. No wonder I put on weight!
