lemony get us with our saintly snacks😇
I'm eating lots of honeydew melon at the moment. Very sweet and luscious. And only £1 each in Tesco 👍

BasinHaircut · 10/07/2017 17:52

2lb off here (although I'm at a different group so different scales) I'm really pleased with that as I've had multiple meals out and cakes to contend with.

Determined to have a good week again this week, with a meal out on Saturday that I'm planning to enjoy.

Well done turquoise! What a great start. It's such a boost when you get that big first loss.

LavenderRainbows · 10/07/2017 18:05

Well done basinStar
We had a scales malfunction last week. One lady got on and it said she had lost 1.5 stone in a weekGrin
It was then discovered that the plug was hanging outHmm

BasinHaircut · 10/07/2017 19:08

Thanks lav, I'm well chuffed. I'm determined to get this last 5lbs off.

ALemonyPea · 10/07/2017 19:15

Well done Basin!

Thank you!

Well done on the losses - really good!

OwlinaTree · 10/07/2017 19:23

Well done on all the losses, especially Turquoise, that's amazing!

First day back at work went well, just ate what I brought. I took cakes in to celebrate my return, but didn't eat any. Was lovely to see everybody, but very strange to be back.

PositiveAttitude · 10/07/2017 20:08

Well done losers, and I bet you are dead chuffed Turquoise.

Since my total over indulgent blow out on Friday night I have been doing SP to claw back and I am surprised at how easy it has been. I am thinking that I will have SW chips tomorrow night after WI, but it has been fine. I just hope it has worked!!

Hello, I joined slimming world last Wednesday! Have been thinking about it for a long time and finally went for it, I want to lose 2.5 stone. I'm just really worried it's not going to work for me I'm feeling like I will never be slim again, just need this weight off as it's making me feel really depressed now. Anyway, I had been good with my eating until last night I had a massive, massive pig out on chocolate 😞 Prior to this I could feel like I had lost some weight and already noticed a difference in my clothes being loose etc but I weighed myself this morning and weighed 1lb heavier and I feel so bad because of the binge I had last night. I'm dreading my weigh in on Wednesday because I just want to lose, I'm eating all the right foods and to be honest my appetite has reduced since starting slimming world so I've been eating much less than I did before. I don't have any chocolate or treats in the house now and I l haven't even thought about it but when I have them in the cupboards I just have to have it. Has anybody got any advice or tips for me? How long will it roughly take for lose 2.5 stone? Thank you 😊

Danott · 10/07/2017 20:27

By the way my activity level is pretty good, I have a 2 and 3 year old (both boys) to run around after constantly during the day and night lol. I barely get a chance to sit down during the day and we are walking backwards and forwards to the nursery during the week and go for long walks. I used to do the 30 day shred but stopped so I'm going to start that up again.

caremummy · 10/07/2017 20:40

Everyone varies (obviously) but when I first did sw I lost 7.5lbs in 6 weeks (with hypothyroidism). Generally, after the first week the (women) in my group tend to lose about 1-1.5lb a week. One person lost 3stone 10 in 2 months 😱you should see some good results soon, stick at it xx I had loads of blips and it still worked xx

caremummy · 10/07/2017 20:42

Oh and I was the same, nothing had worked. Keeping the meals varied and using some syns for nicer meals helps me x

Danott · 10/07/2017 21:08

Thanks caremummy, After I had my eldest done I lost 2 stone in 2 months but I fell pregnant again soon after and this is the reason I'm so big now 😞 I lost the weight on a low carb diet so I'm going to speak to my consultant and see if she recommends me to do the low carb plan because I really do struggle to lose weight when I eat carbs. It's just I'm so impatient because I was convinced I'd have had the weight off by now, but I do feel determined this time. Currently snacking on melon rather than chocolate lol

Starsandwishes · 10/07/2017 21:48

Think I'm only on day 5. I can't stop thinking about crisps and chocolate
I had a 25grm bar. Hoping that would help the craving but it has not.

ALemonyPea · 11/07/2017 07:44

Danott, try not to worry. Just lessen your syns today, have 5 and try eat more speed than free food. Don't weigh yourself at home, they will be different to the scales at SW.

Darnott, it took me 20 weeks to lose 2.5st. It's been a journey and I've just had my first week off plan on holiday. But when I started in January I expected to lose 1lb a week and be 25lbs down by my holiday. S&P's day may be off use if you want low carb days.

Weigh in today. Time to face the music.

Danott · 11/07/2017 08:12

Why would the scales be different? My weigh in is tomorrow evening, I can definitely feel like I've lost something my tummy is flatter and clothes fit looser. Last night I had a hot chocolate and melon for my late night snack it definitely did the job!

Starsandwishes · 11/07/2017 08:36

How do people manage cravings?

BasinHaircut · 11/07/2017 08:43

stars is it always chocolate you crave? If so find some chocolately low syn things such as the options hot chocolate things which are 2 syns each I believe.

My sweet treats for evenings when I get that urge for something sweet after dinner are caramel snack a jacks (the chocolate ones are rank though), also 2 syns each and they are quite big. Also a small glass of cold milk seems to satisfy my sweet cravings.

FoofFighter · 11/07/2017 08:48

Scales will be different becuase they are not the scales used at SW. Tooo many variables weighing on different scales, diff time of day, diff surfaces, SW ones are calibrated properly.

I don't get cravings tbh, but I cannot do moderation in things I've learnt that much, so abstinence is better for me.

OwlinaTree · 11/07/2017 09:06

I get cravings. Usually for sweet and sour chicken. I plan it in on the calendar for a weekend when I don't have anything else on, so it's a one meal off plan over a week thing. Knowing it's coming up helps me resist!

I always want something sweet like chocolate at the end of the day, it's like I feel I deserve it after a day of staying on plan. I manage this by having fruit and yoghurt and then a freddo or sometimes a hifi. Freddos are all I buy now. I used to have a bowl of icecream, or a few chocs, or a bit of cake etc so this dessert is a big improvement for me!

OwlinaTree · 11/07/2017 09:07

For me, I manage cravings by having a small or infrequent amount, I know if I ban something I'll want it more!

BasinHaircut · 11/07/2017 11:15

owl we plan takeaways in advance too. And make a night if it IYSWIM rather than just get one on a random Tuesday or whatever. So it'll be DS early to bed, order takeaway and watch a film sort of thing.

Before SW we had got into an awful habit of having 2 or more takeaways a week just because we couldn't be arsed to make dinner. Cost a bloody fortune and is partly to blame for both DH and I's weigh gains!
