Well done Groovee.

Boring day today. Always want to pick at whatever I can see when I'm bored. Restrained myself so far.

Well done @ALemonyPea and @Groovee.

I'm trying a few days syn free as I've used about half my weekly syns in the last 2 days. This is the first time I'm trying to be accountable over the week and logging EVERYTHING rather than writing off the day (probably having more syns on top) then starting afresh the next day. I managed to avoid the cakes at Costa earlier (usually have my 7 syn bun) and now I'm having Singapore noodles for lunch then melon. Roast chicken for dinner! I love a roast chicken.

ALemonyPea · 04/06/2017 15:55

Oh I don't need congratulating, the days not over yet haha

I'm so tired the carbs are calling. I lost 3.5lbs which means I have lost a total of 1st2.5lbs so far and I haven't even been that good this week. On Friday I was dipping milka chocolate into Nutella 😁

I'm starting at group on Tuesday, got a good deal from sw too they sent me a 12 week countdown for group when I'd only paid till the middle of July.

Good luck with syn free oriana

Keep resisting lemony

I really want a burger now groovee mmmmmm burgers for breakfast the only good thing about nightshift.

Anewleaf · 04/06/2017 16:20

Hi ladies! This will be my 9th week with sw and I've lost 1st 12lbs hoping for 2lbs loss tomorrow to reach club 10 and 2 stone mark. Issue is ... I have not decided on an actual final target. I'm 6'1 currently 18 stone 1lb wearing size 18 clothes. I was wearing size 16 clothes about 10 years ago in uni. I think I was happy about my image then... no idea what I actually weighed. I don't want to be stick thin and Bmi is a crappy indicator for me. Not sure what to do x

Boatsnack · 04/06/2017 16:27

anew you don't have to set a final target. Just keep setting interim targets until you feel like you're happy.

I'm 5ft 10 and as of this morning weigh 15st0.5lb my first target is 14st7lb which is around my club10. Before I had my daughter I was a size 10/12 and weighed around 13st that is outside the normal bmi range but was where I was comfortable. I will never be supermodel shaped.

Groovester · 04/06/2017 19:54

Blooming awful 3 days but as of today I'm back on it. I only need 1/2 a pound for my next award this week. I'm hoping that being strict and no syns will help me achieve it by the time Thursday morning comes around...

Groovee · 04/06/2017 20:26

Good luck ladies!

Have accidentally had an SP day! Having an extra HEB to make it a full one lol

ALemonyPea · 04/06/2017 20:39

Welcome Leaf. I want sure on my weight when I started, and just put interim weights down. I wanted to be a size 14, but now fit into 12 and happy with that, almost at target. Last time I was a 12 was 17 years ago. I do think though, that sizes from then have changed slightly, so I am more likely a 14 from then and the 12s are bigger than they seem.

Groovster, don't forgo the syns, you need at least 5 a day. Don't deprive yourself.

OP posts:
FaithAgain · 04/06/2017 21:31

boat that's a good deal! Group is definitely what keeps me going.

Hi anew. I didn't set my target for about 3 months after I started. I had over 3 stone to lose and it just seemed too big a mountain to climb. I set an interim target to get under 13 stone in 8 weeks (which was Christmas). When I got that, I went for my 10%. Only then did I feel ready to set a final target. That is only 4lb into my 'healthy' BMI range. I'm almost there now and I really don't think I want to be much thinner. (My neck looks a bit scrawny!). I want to tone up a bit more but if I keep exercising that'll come.

I ran a 10k today! Smile I still have chronic abdo pain so I'm really proud of myself!

Notlostjustexploring · 04/06/2017 21:42

sheepishly shuffles back into thread

So I started well. Lost 4.5lbs my first week. Lost on the second week and shared sotw. I recorded a gain the third week, but it was the first time I'd had my breakfast before weigh in (double portion porridge and milk due to breast feeding, along with a litre of water), which I think alone counted for the gain. Clearly getting cocky there.

Then I got sloppy. Two curly wurlys instead of one, sort of thing. And I've been weaning the little one, both on to food and on to a bottle, so my hexs are all over the place. Then the baby stopped sleeping, so was literally eating anything in the house (three curly wurlys aren't many more than one). Then I went on holiday. And got tonsillitis. And came right off plan (five curly wurlys are basically the same as one curly wurly)

I do feel a bit of a wet blanket falling off plan when I think about what some of you had dealt with and managed to stay on plan, but it's all a learning experience!!

Well I'm still hanging on to my first week's loss, but that is about it. My online graph doesn't even have a time to target as it doesn't actually go down.Blush

So I'm picking up my halo, giving it a little polish with my sleeve and putting it back in place. I've learned I just can't have chocolate and crisps in the house. Maybe one day, but not today. And I'll just pimp my meals out to use my syns. And I'm discovering the online meal plan/diary, which I think will help me stay on track. Baby is also sleeping better so I no longer feel like death warmed up.

But basically I've managed today at 13 syns and I've got a fat free yogurt with frozen strawberries waiting for me. And I will manage to get to my weigh in on Friday without straying from the plan.

Hope you'll have me back!Smile

Notlostjustexploring · 04/06/2017 21:45

Faith Well done on the 10k btw. I slowly ran one a couple of years ago and I still feel good about it. Enjoy your buzz!!

ALemonyPea · 04/06/2017 21:48

Welcome back NotLost. I've said it before, but I'm always in awe of everyone whomdiets the first year of having a baby. I definitely couldn't have done that. Good luck, you can do it.

noodlezoodle · 04/06/2017 22:19

STS for the past two weeks. That would be great if I was at target but in the circumstances not at all what I'm going for (1.5 stone to lose). Entirely my own fault though, last week I had two hugely off plan dinners and this week too many syns (erm, wine).

Well, tomorrow is another day I suppose. Just booked my flights back to England for late July and want to have made significant progress by then.

Notlostjustexploring · 04/06/2017 22:26

Thanks lemony
To be honest, I might have had more success had I waited a bit longer, but I really felt I just had to start, even if I made very slow progress.

Ff strawberry yogurt consumed, I'm off to bed in a haze of virtue.

I'll probably be visiting this thread lots this week. I want a good week, give myself a boost I suppose, and I'm going to avail myself of all the help that is available to me!

Good luck all!!!

useyourimagination · 05/06/2017 06:37

Good morning all.

I've just joined SW online and I've got about 3.5 stone to lose. The turning point was a photo that was taken at the weekend. Everyone looks lovely (it was a 60th birthday) and then there's this huge lump in the corner. I had a fabulous time but I don't want to be the one who looks so crap in photos anymore.

Not quite sure how it works yet but have taken the plunge anyway after several attempts at WW (which worked to a point) but now I'm really determined.

Wish me luck!

BasinHaircut · 05/06/2017 07:21

Welcome imagination. Just shout if you need any help with the plan.

Weigh day for me today and just had a sneaky peak. The scales went below 11st! Well 10st 13lb 8oz to be precise by my target is 10st 13lbs so I was very excited to see that. The SW scales generally show within a lb of what I weigh myself in the morning (but I don't count on it) so hopefully I have a loss today at least. I've got this one and then 2 more WIs beforehand holiday and I want to be at target for then so fingers crossed!

BasinHaircut · 05/06/2017 07:31

notlost using syns in meals and getting out of the snacking habit is definitely a huge help IME. I don't feel the need to snack if I can make my lunch and dinner that bit more satisfying.

I agree that anyone who manages to diet with a young baby is a hero though, and don't be too hard on yourself for the odd sleep deprived slip. I found that I put on more weight in that first year than I did whilst pregnant so if you can even just STS for now you will be doing well in my book!

Groovee · 05/06/2017 07:39

Notlost, draw a line under it... and get your planning head on.

Welcome imagination.

I'm feeling sluggish. This ongoing period I've had since January is heavy just now with lots of pain and my tummy really hurts. I don't know if it's period pain, the infection in my urine or if I need a Pooh!

So Ryvita fruit crunch with banana and strawberry and apple for breakfast.

Welcome newbies!

Good luck for later Basin

I am OFF pears. They taste far too pear-y. This is not good, I've had an apple, a pear and a couple of satsumas with lunch every work day for the past 18 months. Now even the thought of pears makes me want to vomit. All I want to eat is bloody carbs! (I know, growing a person and all that, but seriously, there's not enough potato, bread, pasta in the world)

I'm also generally ridiculously hungry. Trying to eat healthily and stay roughly within syns (while having 2 x HEA and HEB each day) but OMG, I could actually eat a scabby horse between two dustbin lids. There was a lovely salad at the supermarket when I was doing the food shopping on Saturday so I bought it for today's lunch. Yeah. Need to buy something for lunch today because yesterday I had breakfast (fruit & yoghurt), brunch (omelette and ALL THE VEGGIES), lunch (chicken salad that was meant to be today's lunch),a big snack (cheese and crackers, fruit), dinner (full roast beef and all the trimmings) and pudding (a yorkie).

Oh well.

Groovee · 05/06/2017 10:35

Lol Em. I was so sick with my 2 food didn't feature much.

BasinHaircut · 05/06/2017 11:34

Cheers em

just do the best you can. Seriously you need to listen to your body and enjoy pregnancy As much as possible. You will gain weight but you know you can sort that afterwards.

mutley1 · 05/06/2017 13:33

WI for me today and another 2Lbs off so the number at the front is the same as the number at the back. Now if I can just get the number at the back to be less than the number at the front I will be happy!!!

shamoffour · 05/06/2017 13:34

Em the first bit is so hard, with all of mine I lived on mashed potato, salt and vinegar crisps and haribo for the first 10 weeks.

I'm back on it after my break I gained 4.5lbs which I'm ok with. Back to group on weds and starting the shred tonight.

Greenteandchives · 05/06/2017 13:37

I had a big clothes trying on session yesterday, and was pleased at the difference my meagre 6 and a half pound loss has made. I can get back into things I haven't worn for a year or two, so that was good. I am weighing in tomorrow. Hoping to get to the half stone mark. I thought I would have lost double that in the seven weeks I have been doing this, but am okay about the pound a week loss now. Have a good week, everyone!
