So this meal is free. But I did not put any veg with it. So does that mean the meal is no good?

I'm not very good with veg I'm OK if it's mixed in like a Shepherds pie. I'm okay with fruit and basic salad.

Yeah ideally you'd have some veg with it to help fill you up.

shamoffour · 09/07/2017 20:23

Welcome on the new peopleSmile

I've been pretty good this week, we went out for Sunday lunch (though a bit later at 4.30) I was really good and ordered a chicken salad with dressing on the side while everyone else had full on roast dinners. There's a massive garden at the back which the kids were playing in with some friends they had made. Then it all went wrong ds(3) put is hand on a bee and got stung he was inconsolable bless him and just wanted to go home so we shovelled down are food and left with ds sobbing and our other kids crying because they wanted to stay ds(2) was having a massive tantrum and me and dp were sweating in the heat trying to wrestle the kids into the car. All very traumatic.

So now they're all in bed we've cracked open the prosecco and I've eaten two bags of crisps and a mountain of pistachios.
It all started so well

Stars I'm doing online too. To get to the daily planner, you have to go to "my weight loss tools" scroll down and there should be a red button "weight loss planner". When that opens, choose "create my extra easy day" and you should then be able to type foods into the box at the top to find out if they're free or have syns. Protein foods have a P by them. Speed foods have an S by them (these are the fruits and veg that have fibre and help "speed" weight loss). I am pretty new to this too, so that's what I've figured out so far! Oh and if you put the speed fruit/veg on your plate first, it kind of automatically makes you adjust the portion sizes of everything else Smile

ALemonyPea · 09/07/2017 20:30

Stars, ideally you could have replaced some of the rice with veg, maybe something like some mushrooms, or roasted broccoli/cauliflower

Faith, hope you're ok and it's nothing too serious. 💐

Thanks Owl and Lemony!

I can be a bit all-or-nothing so I need to see it as a blip, not something to be ashamed of.

TurquoiseOwl · 09/07/2017 22:08

Thank you for the welcomes and tips!

I'm still at work, so it's helpful for the evenings! You don't even feel the need to pick at anything. It's now summer holidays, so I literally only have my job, so I need to keep busy! To be honest, I'm finding it quite easy, but I bet it gets harder.

Can't wait for weigh in tomorrow morning. I just can't wait to see how much I've lost. I know it sounds stupid, but would a week even make my bra feel looser? Blush it's probably all in my head GrinGrinGrin

madein1995 · 09/07/2017 22:40

Hi, I've dropped in and out of this thread now and then but thought I'd start posting again. After maintaining for a few weeks I tried sp for 4 days last week and my mind was blown - 5.5lbs off and that's with a big slab of cake on Thursday and some heavy syn days early on in the week. I always balked at the thought - thought low carb too hard but I've found it ok. Am planning on doing 4 days this week EE and 3 days SP and then next weekend EE and 5 days SP. Think it'll help the weight loss and I'm feeling better in myself too - even on EE days might not have so many carbs. Am also going to start using nuts as my hexb too.

We had a new leader this week as usual one is ill. Was a revelation. Normally group takes 1.5 hrs due to late comers getting weighed - this one announced weigh in ended at 10, and latecomers could stay but not get weighed til the end. There was some flouncers Grin but I much preferred it. Less waiting around and faffing and we didn't go off tangent as much - I like a chat but an hour and half is too long. Would consider switching groups but other group is a fair bit away.

Today was:
Bacon medallions, scrambled egg, mushrooms and ketchup for breakfast (1syn)
Fruit pot in work. Lots of water.
Roast pork, potato, carrot, cauli, broccoli, SW yorkshires (2syns) and gravy (4syns)
Milky coffee (hexa) and 2x alpen light bars (hexb) just now

Groovee · 10/07/2017 08:12

So my scan bran cereal is actually all bran 😂. Made it up like overnight oats. It was quite yummy!

Omelette for lunch and nacho Style Feast for tea with salad.

Have my week planned out til Thursday as I am nil by mouth on Friday x

BasinHaircut · 10/07/2017 08:41

Good luck this morning turquoise, let us know how you get on.

made I'm finally thinking about trying SP. I've got this week planned out already but next week going to try and get at least 1 SP day and see how I get on.

BasinHaircut · 10/07/2017 08:43

Posted too soon!

What did you eat on SP days?

Weigh in today after a tricky weekend. My normal group isn't running so going to a different one which is annoying as I am never confident that different scales are going to give an accurate loss but it's either that or not weigh in.

Was meant to have a free week this week as I recommended someone last week. Will that show up at a different group does anyone know?

TurquoiseOwl · 10/07/2017 09:51

Thank you - group at 11 Smile

ALemonyPea · 10/07/2017 10:55

Morning peeps.

I have awful indigestion, burping like a trooper. I blame the calorie laden pudding yesterday. Necking Gaviscon in the hope it shifts.

Basin, SP days are really easy. My usual SP day looks like this
B: 2 dark rye ryvita with boiled eggs and marmite, orange, apple
D: crustless quiche made with quark, mushrooms, courgettes and tomatoes, served with salad
T: bolognese served on giant mushrooms and side salad and cheese
My other B choice is either a hifi bar, or oats with quark and strawberries

Morning everyone! Welcome to all the newbies. I came on here in February and the support and encouragement has been fantastic. It's kept me going when I've had STS weeks and stopped me thinking sod it I'm having a packet of hobnobs!
Sham, hope your DS's hand feels better.
Faith, hope you are on the mend soon. 💐
I know what you mean when you find puddings aren't as nice now as they once seemed. I met a friend for coffee last weekend and treated myself to a scone and left 1\4 of it because it just felt heavy as I was eating it.
Last WI today before our holiday and I've lost 1lb. I've lost 1 stone 3 1/2 lbs in total so not quite the 1 1/2 stone I wanted for the holiday but I'm a lot happier about myself and I feel so much better.
I'm going to carry on as normal this week and then try to be mindful of what I'm eating while we are away.

LattesAndPilates · 10/07/2017 12:00

Hi everyone, I dropped off the thread for a few days as I've been crazy busy but I'm happy to report I lost 7lbs at my first WI on Thursday SmileGrin and that was with 3 nights out drinking (but being strict on syns) so very pleased!

Have been away this weekend and drank/ate a little too much but plan to get back on it now and hopefully won't see too much damage on the scales!

Hope everyone is having a fun Monday!

FoofFighter · 10/07/2017 12:38

A typical SP day for me would be:

B, berries, whatever cereal HEXB1 I am having that day, quark (can add vanilla to it if don't like it plain. - or a cooked breakfast with tinned tomatoes and mushrooms making up my speed element.

L: veggy soup with a couple boiled eggs, sliced ham, or a salad with mackerel/eggs/chicken etc HEXA cheese

T: roast dinner with swede mash instead of potatoes, a bolognese with butternut squash noodles, a chilli in a bowl then I don't miss the rice

Evening snack: Options and my second hexb, usually a couple of Alpen light bars (Tesco equivalent, far nicer!)

TurquoiseOwl · 10/07/2017 12:54

I am SO happy! I did way better than I expected!!!

I did 10 1/2 lbs!!! It's my 1st weigh in, so I know it does come off quick, but I'm so happy. I'm going for 3 1/2 next week to get my stone!

LavenderRainbows · 10/07/2017 13:32

You must be chuffed to bits! That's given you a brilliant head start now so go girl!! Grin

LavenderRainbows · 10/07/2017 13:37

Last night I was pondering what to snack on as I'd only used 3 syns. I have a bag of treats DS bought me at easter!! Flakes, creme eggs, curly wurly and I didn't even fancy one!!
Didn't recognise myselfGrin
In the end I had a curly wurly and cup of tea but could quite of easily had a peach!

latedecember1963 · 10/07/2017 13:44

Wow Turquoise! I think you're our slimmer of the week🎆

TurquoiseOwl · 10/07/2017 13:51

Thanks all so much!

ALemonyPea · 10/07/2017 13:55

That's amazing Turquoise, well done. Great start to your weight loss.

Lav, I'd happily munch on a few jumbo oranges as a snack through the day. Lovely and cold out the fridge.
