Funnily enough the mugshots thread made me like the idea of SW more, not less :o

FoofFighter · 02/07/2017 16:21

hahaha Trills, welcome.

You go to your chosen group, sit and have your talk through the plan with the leader, whilst others get weighed and then it's the main bit. They usually get you to do your forms at the end so if you think it's not for you, no pressure, just leave :)

NachoAddict · 02/07/2017 17:12

Lemony we tend to switch between those and the Muller depending whats on offer. I actually like Muller especially the lemon and coconut ones.

Trills well I choose depending on the location/time slot but if you can be more flexible then go to a few once before you commit to a countdown. My old group had a fantastic leader, the group was laughing start to finish. The new group leader is nice but just doesn't have as much personality.

Trills · 02/07/2017 17:28

I haven't had a Muller Light in a while but I remember the toffee flavour ones being nice.

ALemonyPea · 02/07/2017 17:34

Trills, if the leader starts talking about muller lights and mugshots, leave swiftly Wink. You can change groups after paying for a 12 week countdown, but not really fair on the next consultant as the consultant you pay gets the full amount. It doesn't transfer over to the new one. Maybe get a 6 week one first.

You could look up FB SW groups in your area, maybe get a feel of the group from there, if people are posting ridiculous food photos made from crap, then avoid. Also, if the classes are busy, it's usually a good sign. Maybe phone a consultant up and speak to them?

Facebook groups is a good idea, thanks

FaithAgain · 02/07/2017 19:10

Welcome back Clash, well done on your success!

Trish it's worth asking around too. I know lots of people in my area doing SW and know which groups are good and which to avoid!

Groovee · 02/07/2017 19:41

I'm in Salou... the All Inclusive drinks will be lethal. Food is actually pretty good and SW friendly!

Groovee · 02/07/2017 19:41

I try to ignore SW threads in AIBU.

NachoAddict · 02/07/2017 21:15

Enjoy the holiday Groovee syns on holiday don't count anyway!

PositiveAttitude · 02/07/2017 22:26

Hello everyone.

Just had a catch up on the thread.

It's our wedding anniversary today. 29 years of wedded bliss together! Grin Had a lovely day, a long walk this afternoon and a meal out tonight. Totally off plan. A scrumptious duck and mushroom pie (first pie with pastry in over a year!) with yummy scrummy chocolate brownie for pud. I am now stuffed and tummy is doing somersaults!

I have really struggled today, though, with feeling fat! I am still large, but having lost 4 stone 10lb I am a lot smaller than I was. Today I feel as fat as I was at my biggest. In photos I am looking fat. In dresses that I felt slim in last week I am feeling fat in. What's wrong with my head??? I can't be that bad if I felt so good a few days ago, surely???. Do you think it is just my brain telling me i am still fat, or perhaps I really am as fat as i now feel and when I weighed more I was just delusioned that I was really smaller than I was?

ALemonyPea · 02/07/2017 22:44

Have a lovely time Groovee

PA, even though I am at target, I often still feel as fat as I was when I started. I read somewhere it takes your brain 2 years to get used to your new body size. I still get huffy when someone parks too close as I think I can't squeeze my arse through the small gap in the door, but there's always more room than I think.

Happy anniversary, so jealous of your pie. I've not had a pie in over 14 months. It'd be a slippery slope if I had one though.

Happy anniversary!

Yup, if I've had a day off or more recently two weeks off for holday I feel as fat as I've ever been. Was convinced that, even though I'd hit the 2stone mark before going away I would get back and discover I'd put it all back on. I didn't, it was only 4lb and I lost it (plus another three!) the week after.

In some ways I guess it's a good thing - if I'm feeling uncomfortable because I'm not eating the right stuff, it's more motivation to get back on it I guess.

Plus my off days generally involve a shit ton of carbs and my body doesn't deal with carbs particularly well. I eat much lower carb (but not low enough to be low carb iyswim) on sw and I must admit I don't get that bloated feeling.

MiniCooperLover · 03/07/2017 07:57

Morning! First weigh in was 4.5lb off, I was on track for more but had a lunch out Sat and Sunday that was difficult to control. Back on track with overnight oats mixed in with a banana and will exercise when my son is at school.

BasinHaircut · 03/07/2017 08:26

Well done mini!

PA I hear you! I reckon lemony is right you just aren't used to weighing less yet and everything time you have something indulgent it puts your brain back to thinking you are your old size. Plus the bloating that temporarily makes you feel a bit bigger doesn't help I suppose.

Good day on plan yesterday. Dinner was the last thing out of the freezer that wasn't really SW friendly, although was 8 syns so not too bad. Melt in the middle fishcake, Risotto rice, asparagus and pepper.

I have the same body issues. I still feel shocked when I see passing glances in the mirror or see photos, I barely recognise myself. I think it'll take a long time to adjust.

latedecember1963 · 03/07/2017 11:31

Morning everyone. Had a sneaky weigh on my bathroom scales this morning and they suggested a loss. After 4 STS I really wanted a loss. WI at group and I have lost 1lb. Not brilliant but a loss just the same.
When I was feeling down hearted mid week I piled up 1stone in weight in books on my scales and then lifted them to give me an idea of what I'm no longer carrying around.
Going to do 2 SP days again this week.

MiniCooperLover · 03/07/2017 12:20

latedecember, what a clever way to remind yourself !!!

Just had a lovely omelette with lots of salad. Prob fish of some kind and lots of veg for dinner 👍

FoofFighter · 03/07/2017 12:20

It's hard for your brain to adjust after so long being overweight. I lose 5 stone previously and would often stumble or lurch sideways when manoeuvering around chairs/tables etc as I had no spatial awareness any more, in my brain I was still huge.

just made tomtato and chilli scan bran muffins... taste lovely but still got that scan bran squeaky feel against my teeth.

FaithAgain · 03/07/2017 12:24

That is clever late. I pick up DD. She weighs nearly 3 stone and I've lost just over that. I struggle to carry her for more than 5 minutes now! So glad you've had a loss after being stuck.

BasinHaircut · 03/07/2017 13:51

I used to do that with DH and tins to show what he had lost. I put the weight he had lost in a carrier bag and it was so heavy he was shocked!

ALemonyPea · 03/07/2017 13:58

DS3 weighs less than all the weight I've lot. I tried to give him a piggy back at the weekend and couldn't move. How I managed to live like that, I'll never know. I never want to go back there.

Weighed myself this morning on homemacales. I'm only 1lb up from last week, so surprised and happy with that. Feeling happier now I'm back in control.

Late, it's so demoralising when you STS. 4 weeks though, must be hard. Anything we can help with? Want to post your food diary for the past few days and I'll try pick it.

I've attached my weight loss graph from SW website, from start to finish, you can see how well my weight loss was going until it steadied. So for those feeling down, don't give up, you will get there.

Hello Smile I went to a group this morning and weighed 20 st 2.5 lbs Sad I'm really pleased I've started! It's a lovely group and not very busy (which I like!) Smile

ALemonyPea · 03/07/2017 14:10

Welcome Fruit. Good luck with your weight loss. My best advice would be to not look at the total loss you want, but do it in 7lb blocks, that way it doesn't feel like a lot. You get an award for every 7lb, so they're a great incentive to work towards.

FruitTwist2017 · 03/07/2017 14:16

Thank you Smile that graph is amazing! Well done! How much have you lost?
