We are all hiding in here, away from the hot cross buns and Easter eggs.

Welcome all, old and new.

Forgot to take a photo before I scoffed that down! Blush

FaithAgain · 16/05/2017 21:02

owl, I lost 0.5lb last week despite being 90% on plan (only a couple of syns over a couple of days!) and loads of exercise. This week, I've not been good - lost 2.5lb! Stick with it, you may well see it pay off for a bigger loss next week.

Groovester · 16/05/2017 21:22

Some brilliant losses of late. Well done all you Losers.
owl my friend had a similar situation last week whereby she'd been completely on plan (no 777 challenge) and thought she'd do brilliantly but then had a 0.5 gain. She was gutted but hopes it shows up this week.
I've only heard good things about the 777 challenge so don't lose hope. At the end of the day it's upping your water and eating less calories so it has to work. It sucks though so sympathies.

ALemonyPea · 16/05/2017 21:43

I might try the 777, can't do it today as had 10.5 syns haha

Will try it tomorrow. How much water does 7 glasses equate to? I usually have three drink bottles of water, 750ml each, so should be enough right?

Hi all,

I've gone through and read all your posts and I'm feeling thoroughly inspired so thought I'd join. I'm not a mum (yet) but please don't kick me out Grin

I joined SW a month ago (after trying literally every diet under the sun) and so far going well. I started at 13st 6 and am currently 12st 12 so pretty happy with the losses so far. Had a tough year last year and literally piled on weight so I really want to get to what I was last year (around 11st) or just under as I never got to target.

Anyway enough rambling... I saw a post from a few days ago about wanting to track HEA/B, not sure if this is of interest but I've been using an app called 'Slimit'. It's pretty good and allows you to track your syns and HEA/B. You can also set your 'starting day' for the week so can change it if it's not a Monday. Anyway I've found it really useful to keep track of my daily/weekly syns so might be worthwhile to some of you.

My weigh in was today and lost 4lbs - woohoo!!!!!

Hope everyone has a good day Smile

OwlinaTree · 16/05/2017 22:09

Thanks for all your encouraging messages. I guess I'll have to stick with it and see what happens next week.

Boatsnack · 16/05/2017 22:14

owl hopefully it'll show next week, it's really awful when you try so hard and it doesn't work. Have you tried measuring as well I've heard that some women can lose inches before they lose weight. It might help.

latedecember1963 · 16/05/2017 22:16

Keep going, Owl. STS is disheartening when you feel you deserve a loss. I did loads of gardening on Sunday and STS on Monday. It's a good job we didn't have any chocolate hobnobs in the house or I could have demolished mega-syns worth!

Groovee · 16/05/2017 22:18

Lost 0.5lb. Was pretty much within syns lots of speed. Bit gutted.

Think I am going to go back to basics.

PinkGlitter17 · 16/05/2017 22:23

I'm here, joined SW last week and then had a very un-SW week, then weighed in last night and had lost 4lb. That'll do for starters. 3st12lb to lose, from starting weight to target.

I'm really glad to find this thread.

katplva · 16/05/2017 22:36

owl and groovee I know that gutted feeling - it's so frustrating not to see a loss when you've worked so hard for it! I previously had a definite pattern of maintaining one week and then losing well the following week, so don't lose heart, keep going.

Sorry for the double post Blush

Groovee · 16/05/2017 22:55

Thanks Kat x

OwlinaTree · 17/05/2017 07:28

Sorry groovee, we are going to have to be strong this week! Hopefully we will get a good loss next week instead.

PositiveAttitude · 17/05/2017 07:33

Welcome newbies.

Well done losers and sympathies to those who have STS or gained. It is so disheartening when it is not deserved.

I actually lost 1.5lb at WI last night. I have missed 2 weeks WI due to being away, but I had planned on minimising a gain so a loss was a huge advantage. How on earth does that make sense??? I spent 2 months of sticking to plan and my weight just going 2 steps forward 1 step backwards. It took me 2 months to lose my last 1/2 stone then I go away and have meals all cooked for me - definitely off plan, 2 puddings a day, loads of crap to fill me up because the meals were tiny........ and I lose 1.5lb!!! I am not complaining, but my body seems to be really doing weird things. Oh, plus its star week, so an added reason for an unexpected loss. Perhaps it makes up for the frustrations of the last few months. Perhaps my body needed to be kickstarted back into losing weight. I 'celebrated' with a chocolate scrummy creation made by DS yesterday which was very naughty of me. Back on it today.

I was also confused at group last night. It wasnt my normal group due to being late at work, so I didn't feel comfortable questioning anything. I was weighed and the lady said "Oh, you've reached your target" I was confused as my next interim target is still 10lb away, but she insisted I had, so I was urged to change the target and I randomly said a weight, but it is really not what I want!! My normal consultant is on holiday this week, so I think I will check with her next week what actually happened and sort it out.

Have a good day everyone.

ALemonyPea · 17/05/2017 08:33

Welcome newbies.

Well done on your loss PA. I totally get why you're frustrated with the loss. Bodies are peculiar things.

Gym today, have I ever told you all how much I hate exercising.

emwithme · 17/05/2017 09:29

Well done losers!

I agree that bodies are weird. When I was losing, if I was stuck, I'd have a proper blow-out, eat what I wanted, then get back on track. It was almost as if those couple of days of cheese, chocolate and fried things would kick-start my metabolism again.

Just plodding along here. Hoping to get back into target range tomorrow morning...

LavenderRainbows · 17/05/2017 11:51

Well done losers! Amazingly I lost 4lb today which was a nice surprise after half a pound last week. Got my 4.5 stone certificate and went down to the next stone bracketGrin just had a big fry up to celebrate (sw friendly of courseWink )

Did anyone see Eastenders last night? Ian was at 'Slimfit club' was cringingly realistic!

Groovee · 17/05/2017 12:43

Lol at Ian and his bad jokes at the slimming class.

ALemonyPea · 17/05/2017 13:05

Fingers crossed for tomorrow Em.

Lavender, well done on your loss and award.

You've just reminded me that I forgot to say I'm not in the next stone bracket, and the bracket for my target. Exciting times!

Don't watch Eastwnders, but might have to to see what Ian says. I used to watch it, but stopped when Ronnie daughter Danielle was killed in front of her. Totally ruined me for weeks that episode.

OP posts:
LavenderRainbows · 17/05/2017 14:29

I doubt you will notice much change in EE lemonyGrin I only dip in and out but Ian did make me smile.
Im also in my target stone bracket. Someone told me today not to lose any more! Never thought I'd see the day when someone said that to me!! Not sure if it was complimentary or notConfused

BasinHaircut · 17/05/2017 16:11

Just sticking on yesterday's EE now.

Had a funeral today and they had a chicken and potato curry and rice to eat at the wake and so hopefully wasn't to synful. BUT I did also have a slice of carrot cake Blush but that was it. No booze or picking anything else. Hopefully although I will almost certainly have gone be over syns for today, not by much and not enough to worry about. Should have had enough syns left from yesterday to compensate anyway as I only had about 5 I think.

ALemonyPea · 17/05/2017 17:26

Carrot cake is free in situations like that Basin 💐

Having Asda Extra special light and lean sausages for tea tonight. They're meant to be free. Will let you know what they're like.

Poppet14 · 17/05/2017 18:21

Sorry to hear you were at a funeral Basin, hope you are okay Flowers

Ladies I just wondering if you could help with something. I have a morrisons garlic bread baguette in my feezer and was hoping to have a few slices alongside dinner tomorrow evening but I'm not too sure how to work out the syns?

I have typed it into the food search on the SW app and it states its 15syns for 105g serving... do I just weigh the slices and work it out that way? TIA x
