We are all hiding in here, away from the hot cross buns and Easter eggs.

Welcome all, old and new.

Morning All!

8lbs off this morning! So I'm now 1/2lb lighter than where I was sitting before my week of indulgence and my spectacular gain. I would have been happy with a 2lb loss so naturally delighted.
4 stone 8 gone and I'm back on track. I have a few functions this weekend so if I get even 1/2 a pound of next week, I will be happy. Got to love SW!!

LavenderRainbows · 11/05/2017 11:04

Blimey groovester amazing!Star

I've got to get my ass in gear after my measly half pound loss this week. I'm 1.5lb behind you now twinnyGrin

ALemonyPea · 11/05/2017 11:13

That's amazing Groovster! Well done you!

Groovee · 11/05/2017 11:25

Amazing @Groovester. Well done you.

Some twat reversed into my car badly yesterday while I was at work. Someone saw it and got his details. But I was good. I didn't turn to chocolate to try and help the anger. Car getting picked up on Tuesday for repair.

Groovester · 11/05/2017 11:41

Thanks guys. I think maybe the 7.5 gain wasn't all it seemed. Last week I had to go to a later class rather than the morning one and I'd had a big lunch beforehand (whereas normally I don't eat much) plus (tmi) I'd been constipated. You are generally heavier later on in the day seemingly.
Or I did really gain 7.5 but then the shock to my system of a week of crappy eating then back to being strictly on plan was like a reboot as people tend to lose a lot in their first week. Who knows?
I'm pleased as thought it would take me a few weeks to get rid of it.
lavender - you'll get your award next weigh in! Go twinny!
Groovee that's awful. I am a complete emotional eater so well done on not falling back to the chocolate!

Unicorn9519 · 11/05/2017 11:59

Well done Groovester. That's amazing.

I went to Harvesters last night for a last minute tea. Did the best I could and got a Peri Peri grilled chicken burger without the bun, swapped the chips for spicy rice and got a diet Pepsi instead ofthe usual pint. Hoping it was enough.

Does anyone know what I could use instead of quark in meals? It's featured in loads of SW recipes and I just can't get on with it.

katplva · 11/05/2017 12:00

Great stuff Groovester, well done you!

Shamoffour the mussels & linguine and steak meals sound lovely. Maybe I need to look up a few nice recipes and treat myself to some really nice main courses. I am cooking for two adults and four young children every day, so it's not always easy finding something that's on budget and acceptable to all palates, as well as being free or low syn. I'll be reading back through the thread for ideas - more recipes are always welcome!

Boatsnack · 11/05/2017 12:51

Well done groovester 👏👏

latedecember1963 · 11/05/2017 16:02

Fantastic, Groovester, that's more than my DS1 weighed at birth!
Hope your car gets sorted without too much hassle, Groovee.

Groovee · 11/05/2017 16:28

My car being picked up on Tuesday. Getting a courtesy car in the mean time sometime but no idea when

BasinHaircut · 11/05/2017 17:58

Bravo groovester. I'm weighing in an hour, hoping for a small loss after last week's devastating 2lbs gain. I'm 4.5lbs from target ATM.

shamoffour · 11/05/2017 18:07

Kat you're my twin I also cook for four young dc and two adults every night and it's hard to keep thinking of things. With pasta I usually make a big batch of tomato sauce the kids usually have some with spaghetti and garlic bread then I add extras (like the mussels and prawns) for me and dp when he gets in. Chilli and bacon is a nice one too.
Roast chicken with lemon, thyme and garlic goes down well. I usually do it with sw chips and corn on the cob and add some salad for speed for me.

I've been a bit too picky today and I'm having a rogan josh and boiled rice from the takeaway tonight.

shamoffour · 11/05/2017 18:07

Sorry how could I forget well done groovester that's amazing!!!

Poppet14 · 11/05/2017 19:23

Hi All

Newbie here to this group and to SW in general, so I hope it's okay if I join in. I've been lurking a while and it looks like a good group to stay motivated with Smile

I joined SW last Saturday so I have my first WI in a few days and I am dreading it! I had 2 days REALLY off plan (Wine, bread. All the bread Blush ) in my first week due to work commitments and I am terrified that I will have gained in my first week.

I noticed a few ladies mentioning having an SP day as a form of damage control, but im not too sure what that is? Any hints or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! The days I stuck to the plan though I didnt use all my sins though.

PositiveAttitude · 11/05/2017 19:33

Hi everyone. I'm back! Grin

I have been away from home for most of the past 2 weeks. One conference - home for overnight, then to London to be with DD2 while Grandson was in hospital (he's coming home today) - home overnight, then off to another work conference. home now. Day off work tomorrow and I can't bloomin wait!!!

SW wise the first week I was chuffed as I was able to mostly stay on plan and be ok. This last conference has been a nightmare. Food was all laid on. No choices, just a meal given like it or lump it! But they were absolutely miniscule portions!!! I could have eaten double - I know I am an absolute pig which is why I love SW cos I can be, but with the right foods it works for me! So I would return to our self catering cottage each evening with my friends and we would eat and eat and eat and I was soooooooo bad!!! There was no chance of going off site for sensible choices, so when all my SW friendly snacks had been eaten I was left with a choice of starve or eat cake - guess which I chose!!! Blush
So tomorrow morning I will be standing on the scales. I wonder how much one person can gain over 5 days?? I'll let you know the answer to that one!!

Off to catch up on all your news here.

OwlinaTree · 11/05/2017 19:38

Well done groovster!

Groovee · 11/05/2017 19:48

Welcome @Poppet14. SW don't recommend SP days until you have got to grips with the extra easy plan. You never know you may still have a loss.

Good luck PA, sure it will be fine once you get back in the swing of things x

ALemonyPea · 11/05/2017 20:02

Ah Groovee, it great about your car. Well done not hitting the chocolate though.

PA, good luck on the scales.

Made pork and lemon meatballs in tomato sauce with pasta for tea. Was lovely, definitely something we will be having again.

ALemonyPea · 11/05/2017 20:04

I've not picked today either, and only had 4.5 syns today, that will be it.

OP posts:
OwlinaTree · 11/05/2017 20:09

lemony was that the meatballs from the new book? We tried then, they were lovely.

BasinHaircut · 11/05/2017 20:16

Evening all. 1.5lbs off tonight but wasn't my usual consultant so different scales.

Think I'm going to go back to Mondays as of next week so will see what the real damage is then! I'm hoping that's a real loss though.

ALemonyPea · 11/05/2017 20:17

Might have been. Someone from group posted the recipe from a book anyway.

Well done Basin. Might well be a true loss, fingers crossed.

OP posts:
OrianaBanana · 11/05/2017 20:24

I love the pork and lemon meatballs! Thought the sauce could be a bit more interesting mind you.

ALemonyPea · 11/05/2017 20:38

I used chopped tomatoes instead of pasatta which worked well. Might add mushrooms into it next time as well.

OP posts:
PositiveAttitude · 12/05/2017 08:37

Well done all you losers. You've caught me up now Groovster

Well, hopped onto the scales this morning and I am so bloody chuffed. It says only 1lb gain which I am amazed at. I hope to lose that before my official wi on Tuesday.
