We are all hiding in here, away from the hot cross buns and Easter eggs.

Welcome all, old and new.

Evening all

Got my second weigh in on wed , lost 3 lbs so was happy with that. Just need some advice, I'm fine in the week when at work but the weekends are hard. I've not slipped if anything am eating less which I know is not good. Just the mental fight I guess - help

Groovester · 07/05/2017 21:11

sham my son had them bad about a year ago. Bicarbonate of soda in tepid baths really helped him. He was covered. It's a horrible thing. My daughter got them a few weeks later (only 1 at the time) and hers amounted to only about 10 spots in total.

In SW news, I'm still back on track:
B - Melon and an apple
L - Beans on toast with spinach
D - Chicken biryani
Snacks - yoghurt/a few mikados/bag skinny popcorn and an Alpen light bar. 9 syns.

Back to the gym tomorrow which after a 2 week hiatus is going to hurt...

Groovee · 07/05/2017 21:38

Fruitella foams can be found in home bargains and pound shops.

shamoffour · 07/05/2017 21:45

Aww groovester your poor boy. Unfortunately I think because dd is older she's got them particularly bad I would say on her back there is about 4 times as many as that you literally can't see her skin it's awful isn't it?

FaithAgain · 07/05/2017 22:56

sham general rule of thumb is the older you are when you get it, the worse you feel. Are you flying for your holiday?

I'm plodding along here. Stayed within my syns (mostly) and completed week 3 of my Gold body magic today.

Groovester · 07/05/2017 23:12

It is horrible to see them suffering when there's not an awful lot you can do to help.

BasinHaircut · 08/05/2017 07:40

sham that sounds awful for your poor DD. I'm, in a way, hoping that DS gets it before he starts school in September. But it's already been round nursery twice cr and he has escaped uninflected so far.

Right, today is the first day of 'back to basics' for me. So far today I've had weetabix (HEXB), skimmed milk (HEXA) and 2 cups of tea. I had enough milk left for a couple more cups today.

Lunch today will be leftover paprika chicken and rice which is about 5 syns. Will do some veg with it too.

For dinner I'm doing slow cooker beef and broccoli with egg noodles, I need to work out syns for that later.

I'm going to try not to snack at all this week on anything that isn't speed or banana.

Mummyme87 · 08/05/2017 12:26

QQ. When in pregnancy do you adjust you HEX? Is it at 12weeks or as soon as you find out? I'm early still and fear I will start putting on weight if I had extra HEX so soon 😊

OwlinaTree · 08/05/2017 12:48

The recommendation is that you should be managing your existing weight, not trying to lose. The maintenance plan for sw involves an extra hexb, so you are being given the same advice.

You really must speak to your midwife and get their advice.

Mummyme87 · 08/05/2017 13:34

owlina I know it's about maintaining. I've on SW for a long time just wasn't sure when the HEX kicked in. I don't have a mw yet as not booked but as I'm a mw myself I'm pretty up on weight gain etc in pregnancy.

latedecember1963 · 08/05/2017 13:55

Just caught up on the last couple of days. Hope your DD feels better soon, Sham, and that your Ds's op goes ok Owlina.
Got my 1 stone award today. So pleased, although I know it's only the beginning. 10 weeks until I go on holiday so aiming to lose at least another half stone by then.
Made chana saag masala from the Veggie Deluxe book on Saturday and it was really tasty. Had it with basmati rice.

BasinHaircut · 08/05/2017 14:16

mummy I reckon SW would advise you to add in the extra HE as soon as you tell them, but they need to cover their backs and would err on the side of caution I assume. If that's in line with weight maintenance advice then it sounds most likely.

And congratulations by the way!

OwlinaTree · 08/05/2017 15:28

Ok, just want you to be ok.

shamoffour · 08/05/2017 15:39

Thanks again everyone. Managed to get the other 3 vaccinated today so it's fingers crossed now.
I've also got anti virals to try and help dd who is really struggling.
Right I will shut up about the pox nowGrin

Food wise it's been ok as I've been so busy I've not really ate anything.

Mummy I'm not sure when they officially kick in but I'm sure it would be fine at the start. I really wanted toast, cereal and heb kind of food in the early days. CongratulationsFlowers

Basin I've lost count of the times dd1 has been in contact with it I actually though she must be immune!!

Groovee · 08/05/2017 16:45

Well done on the award Late x

ALemonyPea · 08/05/2017 18:06

Fingers crossed Sham.

Ds2 had awful CP. We were advised by the GP nurse to give him ibuprofen, and this was in the days before t'internet, so took her advise and he got seriously ill and all infected. Nearly ended in hospitalisation. I put a massive complaint in after that as, as you'll probably know, Ibuprofen should NOT be given for CP. He got every bug going after that for 6+ months.

Had a sneaky weigh on my scales this morning. It says I've gained 1lb. Annoying! I've had bread once this week for my HEB and I've not had it in ages, so hoping that is it. Will see what tomorrow's proper WI provides.

Thanks late. Well done on your stone!

I've been feeling poorly today, have stuck to plan but it's been hard. Feeling a little better this evening. Fx I'll be alright tomorrow, at least the toddler went to nursery this morning so I got a bit of a rest.

trinitybleu · 08/05/2017 20:40

Another good day, although a bit pasta-tastic ... fancied it at lunchtime and then working late late so all I could be bothered making.

B - melon and grapes
L - pasta with ham, sweetcorn and mayo (2)
D - carbonara (no ham), salad (HexA)
S - 4 McNuggets (6), 2 fruit bags and a diet Coke. Go me.

shamoffour · 08/05/2017 21:11

Lemony that makes me so mad! The pharmacist suggested nurofen liquid for dd this morning when I questioned whether she should have it as it contained ibuprofen she just shrugged and said there has only been a couple of cases of infection and she would probably be fineHmm
She then back tracked and said I should phone and ask my GP if she could have it.
If I hadn't questioned it she would have sold it to me for dd. So wrong.

madein1995 · 08/05/2017 22:18

Quite a good day here.
Cup of tea (using part of hexa) to start
Then proper breakfast in work - overnight oats (20g oats so half hexb) with ff yogurt, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries
Leftover vegetable fried rice I made yesterday (0.5syns for micro rice)
A banana
Went to the gym for an hour Grin
Tea was steak, new potatoes, butter (4syns), salad, mayo (0.5syns) and ketchup (0.5syns)
Have also had another cuppa, an alpen bar (using up healthy extras) and 4 fruitella chews which according to the app are 1.5 syns for two. So ending the day on 8.5, not bad especially as I had a low syn day yesterday, really want to lose 3lb this week and get my stone and half award!

Groovester · 08/05/2017 22:23

Still on track although some snacking this evening.
B - Melon
L - leftover biryani and spinach
D - pasta, meatballs, tomato sauce and spinach.

I used the m+s skinny meatballs which are syn free. Really tasty. Whole family approved. I recommend them.

Snacks: yoghurt/raspberries/mikado sticks/skinny popcorn

Hex b - 2 Alpen bars.

Syns = 9.5.

Went to gym this morning. Not my best workout but far from being as bad as I thought it was going to be. I've had some hip pain for last few days and beginning to wonder if it's because I'm carrying myself differently with my weight loss as I'm not aware of doing anything to hurt myself.

OwlinaTree · 08/05/2017 22:44

Ok day food wise

B tomato and cheese omelette (half hexa) raisin wheats (hexb plus hexa milk)
L salad with tomatoes, cucumber, radish, beetroot, Tuna and mayo (1 syn), bit of ham, balsamic dressing*(1 syn)
S piece of chicken, apple, orange
T chicken and artichoke paella, berries and yoghurt
Also a bit of easter egg (6.5 syns)

So an ok day really. Weigh in tomorrow, I'm helping out with the weigh ins again.

LavenderRainbows · 08/05/2017 22:49

Well done all those who have stayed on track for the weekend. I've been a bit off but not a total disaster I hope
I had chips (about 10) and cake last night.
Today I had cooked breakfast out and some white toast and butterBlush
Rest of the week has been on track tho so the scales will tell!!
sham I hope you get away on holiday! What awful timing. And that pharmacist should know better!

BasinHaircut · 09/05/2017 06:45

Yesterday was going so well until MIL turned up with a bounty for me. Which I ate. So cross with myself.

Fuck it, start again today.
