We are all hiding in here, away from the hot cross buns and Easter eggs.

Welcome all, old and new.

Well done Losers!

Did I would definitely recommend going to a group for the new member's talk, getting the books and going from there.

So I went to the Consultant Opportunity Event last night. Was very interesting, and now I need to do some Big Sums to see if it's worthwhile for me at the moment. Discussed it with DH afterwards and he's supportive of whatever I choose to do (but we are both aware that I can't do ANYTHING at the moment as I've got one term left of my college course that I've been studying for three years for, and I was thinking of doing further study after that - and then going self-employed as a bookkeeper so I need to weigh up which it's going to be first of all). It may well be that I carry on with studying while my brain is in "switched on study mode", get my next qualification and then think about doing being a consultant.

Got a posh dinner out tonight (with wine matched to the courses) so that, along with AF's arrival, means I am not at all hopeful about the scales tomorrow. But it is one week, I have a lot of walking planned for the next four, so it will be fine in the end.

Wh0Kn0wsWhereTheTimeGoes · 03/05/2017 09:24

All the meetings in our town are run by the same person so you might have to look further afield in that case Did.

shamoffour · 03/05/2017 09:36

I didn't make it to group this morning but my scales have showed a maintain which I'm happy with.
I have to get my body out on a beach with glamorous slim yummy mummies in 3 weeks arghhhhhhh!!
So that's it I'm 12.3 today I want to be as close to 11.7 as I can before I go 3weeks on Friday.

PipnJo · 03/05/2017 11:17

Hope you don't mind me jumping in :)

I've been going to SW since mid February. Got my 1stone award 15th april (lost 1 stone 2lb) went on holiday, missed a week, went back last week...gain of 4lb (expected!) But i just can't stop thinking about eating/what to eat etc..
When i come home from work i just crave something sweet, so i changed having my HEb for breakfast to having two slimming world bars. But i then find my breakfast doesn't fill me up (fruit and yoghurt)

So i'm just after any top tips to get back in the right frame of mind / good snacking ideas / any non heB breakfast ideas :)

emwithme · 03/05/2017 11:38

Welcome PipnJo

I have eggy muffins for breakfast every work-day (weekends I have a big fat "fry" up) and then still have my HEB for a hifi bar fix before bed!

Em's Eggy Muffins

3 eggs - beaten with
150 g cottage cheese (I use the chive one)
Fry off whatever fillings you want - I have mushrooms and onion as "standard" but sometimes also bacon, peppers, celery - whatever's in the fridge - and add to the eggy mix.
Pour into (preferably silicone - far less sticking - or very well greased) muffin tray, top with a halved cherry tomato - sliced side up and cook for 25 - 30 minutes at 180 (fan) / 200 (electric) / Gas 6 or until browned on top.

This makes 6 muffins which does me 3 mornings, along with a handful of cherry tomatoes. I put them in little tupperwares in the fridge and they last fine for the time I need.

PipnJo · 03/05/2017 11:45

Oh lovely, thanks emwithme
I'll give those a go, i was thinking i could do eggs or something - but i don't have time to cook it in the mornings...so that's perfect!

ALemonyPea · 03/05/2017 12:14

Welcome Pip. Well done on your loss so far.

Eggy muffins are great for breakfasts on the go. Bakes oats are also fab. The recipe is in the SW website, but I use quark instead of yoghurt, and that makes them more filling. I'd say you need some sort of protein in the. I ring to fill you up, I need it anyway, otherwise I pick through the day. Boiled eggs on ryvita are also a good quick fix.

Em, glad you enjoyed he consultant thing. How much is it to start? I remember Emily saying £1500ish. I don't have that really, not this year anyway as buying a house and going to Disney. Stupid me.

Just blitzed all of downstairs this morning. Something about sunshine that makes me clean.

Thanks ALemony!

i've made those eggy muffins, amazing! Had one to test...and surprisingly filling!

Groovee · 03/05/2017 14:51

Welcome pip. Focus on a protein breakfast. Another sweet HE is Ryvita fruit crunch topped with banana and strawberries.

Home from the hospital. As my BMI is below 40 the consultant put me on the list for an ablation. So happy.

ALemonyPea · 03/05/2017 15:39

Great news Groovee! One of the reasons I lost weight was to have a hysterectomy. My weight was above 40 when I started and below 30 when I went back to hospital. Such a good feeling.

Thanks @ALemonyPea

ALemonyPea · 03/05/2017 19:50

Ive had a rare meal off plan tonight, Indian takeaway, 24 syns worth and it was bloody delicious. No speed in sight, apart from the onions in my bhaji. I have 69 syns for the rest of the week, which is fine as only usually have 5-7.5 anyway.

Hope everyone is ok, quiet here lately.

BasinHaircut · 03/05/2017 20:14

Evening lemony, yes it has been quiet. Hope you enjoyed that!

Dinner of chicken and bacon risotto with broccoli. Risotto had a bit of wine, butter and parmesan in so was synful but I had the syns to spare (only had 4 so far today) but I am guessing as I couldn't be arsed to work it out.

groovee that's great news!

Nunyabusiness · 03/05/2017 20:25

First week completed last week, weigh in was last night and 7lb off, which I am really pleased with.

I'm surprised by how 'not hungry' I've felt, and feeling really positive about slimming world.

And today I ate my first hifi bar - salted caramel - which was yummmmmmyyyyy.

ALemonyPea · 03/05/2017 20:28

Wow well done Nun, great first week loss.

Basin, risotto sounds lovely.

Boatsnack · 03/05/2017 20:29

groovee that's great news

I have managed to keep pretty much syn free the last couple of days after Mondays blow out. I want to try a SP day but I'm not sure I understand it, is it just basically low carb?

maygirl · 03/05/2017 21:39

I'm still lurking!
Well done losers, you're doing so well!
I'm struggling, trying a SAS log this week and looking back at food diaries from when I was doing well.

FaithAgain · 03/05/2017 22:12

Evening all!

Great start Nun! I know what you mean, I'm never hungry. I did WW and I often felt hungry and deprived! Sometimes I feel a bit disappointed that I'm missing out on things (like cake!) but then I remind myself the reward on the scale is worth more.

I've been a bit quiet, just struggling to keep up (and on plan!). I've been doing my body magic (going for gold). Weighed in tonight, lost 2.5lb! I'm chuffed to bits Smile Got under the next stone marker. I'm now the lightest I've been since 2005! (I know because when I did WW, this was the lightest I got to with them). Aiming for 2.5lb next week which would get me my 3 stone award.

OwlinaTree · 04/05/2017 06:48

Well done nun and faith!

BasinHaircut · 04/05/2017 08:49

Well done nun what a great first week!

And hopefully you will get that award next week faith!

may what's up?

I'm weighing in tonight and hoping for a small loss. I'm 2.5lbs from target but only lost 1.5lbs total over the past 2 months and I've got a wedding and a holiday in May so I'm not expecting to lose that last 2.5lbs quickly.

On a training course today but luckily it's in my office building so I have brought lunch as normal and will avoid the sandwiches etc that will inevitably be provided. I got up early this morning and had breakfast at home (I normally eat it when I get to work) so I have no excuses for eating crap.

ALemonyPea · 04/05/2017 09:25

Well done Faith.

Stomach doing flips after my Indian takeaway last night. I didn't even have anything oily, apart from the bhaji. Still enjoyed it though. Could easily eat that again mmmm

FaithAgain · 04/05/2017 09:33

Thanks Smile

Basin you've done so well! Definitely a good plan to take your own food today. Not easy to resist that temptation.

Lemony I find that if I eat food I haven't had for ages (mostly excess sugar for me!) that I feel ill. I think we forget how to digest it properly.

BasinHaircut · 04/05/2017 09:42

lemony I had greasy food at the weekend and felt so sick afterwards. Burger, chips and donuts at the seaside.

Is a good thing though I guess, our bodies want healthier food now!

PipnJo · 04/05/2017 09:59

Had those eggy muffins for breakfast...spot on. Feel's good to have something different to add to the mix.

Totally agree about feeling iffy after greasy/high fat food now. Which is what i think of when i fancy it!

trinitybleu · 04/05/2017 10:26

hello everyone .... here I am, back again. Not sure if anyone was around last summer? I lost 2.5 stones but think I have put most of it back on. Got a huge amount to loose but today is day 1. Baby steps. Have not filled the fridge with salad but got enough for a few days and then will shop again. Hoping this will keep me focused and thinking about it. Have spent 6 months (at least) buying SW friendly stuff and then checking it out when we've eaten out or had takeaway.

Had poached eggs on a wholemeal roll (HExB) and water melon and mango so far. Got lots of ff yogurts about to go out of date so they will feature heavily for a few days!
