We are all hiding in here, away from the hot cross buns and Easter eggs.

Welcome all, old and new.

Ive decided to change from a morning weigh group on a Saturday to a Thursday teatime. I gained half a pound. Happy with this because of the time change. Should show a proper loss next week.

BasinHaircut · 27/04/2017 20:19

happy the butter fry light is better if you ask me. The sunflower one is vile!

Half a pound off for me tonight which means that I've beat last month's net loss of 0.5 lbs and this month I've a net loss of 1 whole pound!

At least it's gone down not up I suppose. 2.5lbs from target and determined to get through the bank holiday fairly well (maybe 1 day off plan) and hopefully another small loss next week.

Don't usually have a cheat meal as such after weigh in, but tonight it's old El Paso enchiladas and savoury rice. Just waiting for the rice to cook. Yum.

Well done everyone.

didireallysaythat · 28/04/2017 08:09

Ok. The scales arrived, I weighed myself and signed up online 2 minutes later. Act on it !

Stupid quick questions - do I need to have my full quota of A and B foods each day ? And 5-15 a day with no saving them up ?

Scrambled eggs, mushrooms and ham for breakfast. Which I think is fine ? (I'm surprised there doesn't appear to be a phone app for tracking - have I missed it ?).

Just realised I'm away with work for 5 of the next 10 days. Including today. So I've put an apple in my bag and see if that will tide me over as the usual sandwich and flapjack offerings won't work.

BasinHaircut · 28/04/2017 08:16

did your breakfast sounds fine.

it's advised to have your HEXA&B because it ensures you get all of the fibre and calcium you need but missing or not eating the full quota occasionally won't hurt.

In regards to syns, it's recommended to have at least 5 a day and whether you should save them up is a bit of a grey area. Strictly speaking no, you shouldn't, but go with what works for you.

Good luck!

Zed1707 · 28/04/2017 08:21

I have had the worst migraine yesterday after the zoo trip.. so indulged in junk to make myself feel better.. regretting it now tho.. Confused

OwlinaTree · 28/04/2017 09:12

Lol school trips will do that to you! I'm always exhausted after a school trip!

Zed1707 · 28/04/2017 09:33

@OwlinaTree can't believe I actually volunteered to go with the little ones.. luckily I don't work Fridays so just lounging around for now..

Anyone having anything exciting for breakfast or lunch?

I'm making a lamb and lentil broth today..

ALemonyPea · 28/04/2017 09:41

Morning everyone.

Zed, just reduce your syns to 5 for the next few days, you'll be fine.

Did, ideally, have your A and B choice daily. It's ok to miss the odd one a week, but not something you should do regularly. You can save your syns if you've got a special event or want a bottle of wine at the weekend, but make sure you have at least 5 a day.

Thanks @ALemonyPea..

I know I'm gonna struggle over the weekend.. but gonna try n stick to it..

madein1995 · 28/04/2017 11:51

An OK day yesterday, quite high on the syns for me (especially due to damage limitation after Tuesday) but I know I'm within the weekly syns and nowhere near 105 for the whole week. Because this weeks been higher than normal and its star week I'm not expecting a great loss but I do deserve a loss, I hope.
Yesterday was porridge with blueberries and strawberries (healthy extras)
Lunch was chicken curry with rice, rice 2syns and speedy veg in the sauce
A funsize Mars (7syns)
Leftover pasta for tea in work, plenty of speed
Snack was 2 slices ham, a ff yogurt and speedy fruit again and a tiny Easter bunny chocolate thing from Tesco for 2syns
So ended on 11syns, quite high for me

AgathaMystery · 28/04/2017 12:27

Did there is an app - it's just clunky. It's in the SW app and links through to a web page I think. You can track your foods and it adds the subs automatically. I haven't used it this time but I did last time.

The Apple won't work! You're going to need LOADS of food. E.g.:
Sliced red peppers, cherry toms, cucumber, pineapple, strawberries + some plain pasta, a muller light etc is a decent lunch. SW totally doesn't work if you get hungry.

mariah123 · 28/04/2017 12:37

Slimming world at Core restaurant?! Help please, I can't find any nutritional info Angry

ALemonyPea · 28/04/2017 13:20

Mariah, if it's not a chain restaurant, it won't be on the app. Do you know what you're having or what you had and we can try work it out.

You're right Agatha the apple wasn't enough, so I supplemented with a banana and a fruit salad, half a bag of dried apricots (there go my syns) and a litre of water (there wasn't a lot of choice at the shop on the station - nothing resembling a vegetable). I've probably had my 250ml milk allowance on the three pints of tea I've had (can't do early starts) so I'm going to treat myself to a mint tea at my next train change.

emwithme · 28/04/2017 17:44

did remember that 60g of dried apricots count as a HEB portion so, unless you've had bread/oats/something else from the fibre family, knock that off.

Been on plan again today and yesterday. So bloody tired, so bloody pukey (but got a BFN on a FRER yesterday morning, AF not due until Sunday though), and I have a nose like a bloodhound.

I am glad it's a long weekend, I need a lie in!

ALemonyPea · 28/04/2017 18:30

Did, M&S is good for on the go foods, they're usually near train stations.

Em, keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Boatsnack · 28/04/2017 19:50

did I use the app to check syns on the go or when I'm in the supermarket. I log everything I eat and any exercise on the meal planner part of the website. I wish the app was as easy to use as my fitness pal with barcode recognition and letting you add recipes that would really help.

I'm not expecting any loss this week I have overall kept within syns and have exercised every day but I've strained a muscle at my hip and I'm just not feeling it.

didireallysaythat · 28/04/2017 22:27

Thanks for all the help and encouragement - it really is great as I was (and still am) nervous that online doesn't really give you any support.

Got home late and had pasta with tomato sauce and sweet corn. Felt wrong eating pasta and I didn't cook quite enough for the three of us (3*75g). And now I'm hungry.....

AgathaMystery · 28/04/2017 23:39

Hi all. I had a good day - forgot my lunch and ended up in the city so tried a 'free' salad in subway +1.5syn dressing. The salad was actually freaky good so I'd go again if I was stuck. About £4 I think.

I also went for a run - week 2 of couch to 5k started and it was hard.

ALemonyPea · 29/04/2017 11:54

Subway salads are great. I always get double meat 🐷🐷

OP posts:
Groovee · 29/04/2017 16:38

Had a subway salad for lunch. Added some beetroot and radish too.

I cleared my wardrobe out this morning. I have a few tops. But 2 pairs of leggings, one pair of work clothes and 2 pairs of too big joggers. So went shopping and got a pair of size 14 trousers. 🎉🎉

LavenderRains · 29/04/2017 18:04

Woo hoo groovee feels good doesn't itStar

Groovee · 29/04/2017 19:14

It does. Hoping for a good loss this week to help with seeing the gynaecologist on Wednesday.

ALemonyPea · 29/04/2017 19:18

Well done on the size 14s Groovee 🎉🎉🎉
