We are all hiding in here, away from the hot cross buns and Easter eggs.

Welcome all, old and new.

That sounds like my sort of night Calzone. I love cheese. I'm all about the cheese at Christmas. I'd happily eat it all day long.

I made chocolate covered hazelnuts today, hazelnuts as my HEB. delightful!

Just checking in.

em I found the M&S skinny sausages to bland and the skin too thick and chewy. But last week I skinned them and added garlic granules and some dried herbs and made little sausage patties from them and they were really nice.

And speaking of sausages I went to a stripper show last night. Was dreading it and so I got really drunk -and then actually quite enjoyed it, it was hilarious--

Hangover food is very much needed today.

So I'm well and truly off plan this weekend but will get straight back to it tomorrow.

Groovee · 23/04/2017 15:44

I'm not a sausage fan but I love Heck chicken Italia.

Had a night out. No alcohol but mocktails. So tired.

Had Fruit and yoghurt for breakfast and a baked potato with beans for lunch. Chicken and Veg curry for tea.

Boatsnack · 23/04/2017 15:57

Sounds like everyone had a fun Saturday night especially calzone cheese and wine sounds amazing right about now.

I logged my first official weigh in this
afternoon at 15st 13 a good start 👏

Just up from nightshift and my cupboards are bare I have no idea what I'm going to eat today.

ALemonyPea · 23/04/2017 17:11

Grin Basin. Glad you had a good night.

Make me stop snacking! Blush

emwithme · 23/04/2017 20:38

Go and clean your teeth Groovester you won't want to sully the nice clean gob with food for a little bit (or is that just me?)

LavenderRains · 23/04/2017 22:35

Well we somehow ended up in the pub after work 🙈 I had steak and eggs & chips & then a cookie ice cream thing. I've had no syns today up until thenBlush I'm so easily persuaded!
Good job I'm not getting weighed this week!

LavenderRains · 23/04/2017 22:53

Can someone please remind me how many calories per syn?

emwithme · 23/04/2017 23:00

It depends on what it is but 20 calories = 1 syn is a good rule of thumb. It doesn't take into effect any free food so it will over-estimate syns 90% of the time. (For example, 220 calories of roast chicken pasta mugshot is 1 syn, but the same calories of kitkat is 11)

LavenderRains · 24/04/2017 05:28

Thanks em I was trying to work out how many syns the pudding I has was. Blush

LavenderRains · 24/04/2017 05:36

50 bloody syns!!!Shock for 1 pudding! That's nearly 4 days worth. It was nice but not worth that! (It was really sweet too, made my ears cringe) Grin
It just goes to show how I piled the weight on as I wouldn't have thought twice about eating things like that. Now I'm quite remorseful. Oh well, no syns for a few days!

FaithAgain · 24/04/2017 07:51

Crikey Lavender! I'm the same though, I can see why I was so oveweighy. I was in Costa last week and resisted a brownie I used to have probably once a week..checked and it was 23 syns! For a piddly brownie! And I'd have had a large hot chocolate with cream Blush

I've done my first week of body magic, going for gold, feeling pretty positive!

LavenderRains · 24/04/2017 07:58

Well done faithStar go for gold!

I'm on it today. Strictly on plan and no syns!
TMI ALERT; that bloody pud had me running to the loo this morning and let's just say it wasn't constipation Confused and I've got a banging headache which I'm putting down to the ton of sugar that was in it.
I still can't get over the fact that one pudding was 50 syns!

ALemonyPea · 24/04/2017 07:59

Ah Lavender, that reminds me of my 54 syn trifle. Was bloody lovely, but not worth the syns. I think I lost that wee though, so yo never know.

OP posts:
LavenderRains · 24/04/2017 08:45

Grin lemony thanks that sounds positive, bet that trifle was good!! I feel so sluggish this morning so I hope I've learnt my lesson.
I haven't

whereareyousleep · 24/04/2017 10:27

@Lavender all that running to the loo might cancel out the pudding thoughGrin
@faith well done what exercise are you doing? thinking I may need to attempt some I walk to work everyday and run round after the toddler but not much more than that.

I find it amazing how many syns are in stuff I used to eat daily or weekly. Had a bad day yesterday lots of picking so went way over on syns back on it today.

Was thinking of doing couch to 5k but worried I'm too overweight to do it if that makes sense was 15.11 when last got weighed. Has anybody been a similar weight and done it?

ALemonyPea · 24/04/2017 11:32

Oh it was amazing. I thought it would be a dainty little thing when I ordered it but it came in one of those huge goblets. I was a pig, I ate it all, I'd had a sun free main, and was drinking Diet Coke, so felt justified.

I've just made a roulade, and realised I used garlic quark, only realised when it came out smelling a bit funky.

Morning everyone, had a quick scan to catch up. Agree with those of you who have been shocked at the syns in some items. I've been shocked at the high syn values of things I'd previously thought were fairly innocuous calories -wise.
Seriously toyed with giving WI a miss this morning as since weighing on hols last Wednesday I've had an Indian meal, unweighed portions of cheese and crusty bread.
When I got back last night made a relatively healthy tea of broccoli, Quorn roast and just a few oven chips.
Glad I faced the music as I have lost another pound. Not sure how but very happy with a loss!
Hope everyone has a good week.

LavenderRains · 24/04/2017 13:12

lemony that will be an interesting pudding. Can't say I've ever tried garlic rouladeGrin

ALemonyPea · 24/04/2017 14:31

Well done Late.

Yes it would have been interesting. Went straight in the bin. What a waste of ingredients.

This is my first week on slimming world and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing.. took me a while to get my head around everything but my biggest fear is putting on more, rather than losing.. ppl seem to lose a couple of pounds during first week so I'm hoping for the same..

Zed1707 · 24/04/2017 18:23

Any tips and ideas would be very welcome..

ALemonyPea · 24/04/2017 19:03

Good luck axed.

My advice is to try not to complicate it too much. Don't look at it like a diet, but a change in eating habits. More fruit and veg on your plate to replace what food you'd have on it. So not adding it on, removing other foods.

You have one dairy choice a day, so either milk or cheese

One fibre a day, bread/cereal bar/cereals or nuts

And then your syns, so adding things to meals like dressings, more cheese or a treat like chocolate, crisps or cake.

Make sure you have at least 5 syns, in the early days I ate the majority of them daily and still lost well.

I lost 7lb my first week.

Yay 4lbs off even after all the chocolate last week!
