I have put on a stone since Christmas and need to start to make an effort to get rid of it before we get to warmer weather.

I'm going to post here as if I were at group, so if anyone wants to join in, that would be great Smile I have weighed myself this morning and will post regular hopefully minus figures each week. Feel free to share your figures, or not.

If nobody responds, then I guess I am talking to myself, but still...

I lost 1.5lb. Hoping for my 2st next week. Been to Burlesque. Was amazing!

MrsWembley · 13/04/2017 07:46

Crossing my fingers for you.Smile

We're going camping for the weekend, so I have just done a mid-week weigh-in. Down 2lbs!!!

So do I do my usual camping thing where I eat lots of bread and meat and drink lots of wine or do I limit the amount of bread and add more salad and just drink gin and slimline?

Groovee · 13/04/2017 08:28

Add salad and slimline... you know you wanna x

HeyToTheHo · 17/04/2017 07:45

It's been a week of two halves - first half away visiting family I had a 'mindful' off plan few days - i.e. Not slave to SW as eating out etc but didn't go mad (no crisps, not as much alcohol a I would normally have.

Second half at PIL's house - got a stomach bug so 1 banana in last 36 hours and terrible diarrhoea ...

So hoping one balances out the other Confused

TheShapeofYou · 17/04/2017 10:51

Sorry to hear you're poorly Hey Sad I had a terrible sickness bug last year and felt I'd lost a good few pounds...went to RL weigh-in and I had only lost 0.5lbs?! A lady there said when you're ill your body sometimes goes into shock/survival mode so hangs onto fat. I was so gutted, but persevered the next week and lost 3.5lbs so it was all good. Get well soon.

I'm back from hols and my home scales say I've gained 5lbs. It's what I expected. Actually looking forward to eating healthily again.

Hope you had fun camping MrsW Smile

MrsWembley · 18/04/2017 16:10

Shape, I know what you mean about looking forward to eating well!

So, camping was fun, got back yesterday and went straight round to MiL's for a late lunch...

Weighed myself this morning and somehow I have only put on the two pounds I lost in the first half of the week!

HeyToTheHo · 19/04/2017 14:21

I'm still not right but helpfully don't feel like eating!

Had mugshot for lunch yesterday and chicken/ potato/ peppers/ onions/ sugar snap peas/ sweet corn stir fry thing last night with salad.

Melon and yogurt for breakfast today
Chicken salad for lunch.

Hoping for a decent loss on Saturday WI after all this! Smile

Eldest back to school today but youngest started puking again this morning, so haven't seen the back of it yet Envy

MrsWembley · 21/04/2017 07:03
Sad

I find the worst thing about being ill is when you're not eating properly your body kind of compensates by shutting down your metabolism and so you don't lose the weight you feel you should have done! Hopefully, as you're still trying to have a decent-ish meal once a day, one thing should cancel out the other.

Hi! May I join you? I am a SW target member, but have also put on a stone since Christmas and need help getting to grips with losing it. I remember when I first started SW, how much I struggled with sticking to only 1 HEXB a day. I like to use my syns on chocolate, hence the period between Christmas is often disastrous for me as people buy me chocolates for Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mothers Day and Easter. It's all divided into 10 syn packages and in the freezer in the garage, but I can easily treat myself to 2 of them a day!

Today I've eaten:
40g porridge with 25g dates & almond milk, 1 apple
2 dippy eggs with slice of rye bread, toasted & topped with melted cheese, 1 pear
Dinner will probably be turkey salad with baked potato

Groovee · 21/04/2017 22:04

My wee challenge is 3 speed foods at each meal

HeyToTheHo · 22/04/2017 09:39

2lb loss after all that this week. Less than I was hoping for but I'll take it Smile

Makes 8lb loss in 4 weeks

LancashireTea · 22/04/2017 10:02

Hello, may i join you?

I've been back on Sw since 11th Jan this year. Had done it a few years ago, lost a couple of stone lazily, but have since moved in with my OH, had a baby (now 2years old) and the weight has crept on.
When I rejoined I weighed 17st10. I know. Awful.

Have had 14 really positive weeks. I had one gain of 1.5lbs in March as I'd had a wedding weekend and let loose! I'd lost another 1/2 stone in the month following (got my Club 10 and 2 stone award) but have lost my weigh (ha!) since i was away for another wedding over Easter weekend. I gained 2.5lbs from that. And have since had a bit of a binge. My old eating habits are raising their heads and I'm feeling a bit crap. We had Papa John's pizza last night.

I do have a goal. I'm getting married next October and don't want to look horrible. But I'm not just doing it for that. I'm looking to lose more afterwards. My aim is to weigh no more than 10.5 stone.

Groovee · 22/04/2017 12:47

Well done @HeyToTheHo.

Welcome @LancashireTea I find the key is to plan. Get your books out and try new recipes etc.

LancashireTea · 22/04/2017 13:14

We live for meal planning @Groovee in this house as me and OH work 50hrs+ each per week and with DD being a nightmare we have to batch cook a lot.
I think we need to try some new stuff.

I need to get my head straight as well. I suffered really badly with PND and anxiety last year and I know my go to "Calmers" are food and booze. Cue 2+ stone gained after having had DD.

MrsWembley · 22/04/2017 23:03

Hello and welcome, Lancashire and cheapskate!

Planning is one of the best ways of staying on track and remembering to plan for all eventualities!

I've found when I (shall we say) drift off, it's because I bow to DP's whims and say, "Of course, darling, if that's what you want then to hell with the lovely healthy supper that I was considering." Whereas, when we plan together and I take into account his desire for lots of meat and sauces and then work around them, it stops the changes of mind that often occur...

I was on a bit of a downer today, but didn't do too badly, until I foolishly let dh nip to Sainsbos for tomorrow's picnic with friends:

Pack of sausage rolls
Pasties
Cheese-topped fresh white bread rolls
White chocolate cookies

Angry Angry

He did pick up some peppers, cucumber and tomatoes and said "thought you could have these with your couscous" but seriously?! He knows I have no willpower and that it's a bit mean to feast on all that naughty stuff in front of me. So annoying being the only one in the family trying to lose weight (I have two healthy young boys, and a stringbean of a 17yo dss, as well as a skinny eats what he likes dh).

TheShapeofYou · 22/04/2017 23:26

Sorry! Hello and welcome Lancashire and cheapskate! I'll try not to be so angry and miserable in future blame the hormones

MrsWembley · 23/04/2017 16:41

Shape, my DP does exactly the same thing! So, I have to make sure that I plan picnics down to the nth degree.

Home-made Scotch eggs, with Sainsbury's low-fat sausages, pasta/rice salad with homemade dressing (or a v. lie-fat shop one), lots of really good lean meat and masses of salad, lots of different leaves, cucumber, peppers, red onion, the very best tomatoes, oh and carrot sticks with homemade dips!

Any help? Like I said, needs planning...Grin

OP posts:
MrsWembley · 23/04/2017 16:42

Lie-fat? Wtf is that?!Hmm

OP posts:
MrsWembley · 24/04/2017 08:25

1.5 lbs down!!!

Groovee · 24/04/2017 10:37

Well done

HeyToTheHo · 24/04/2017 14:52

Well done.

I pulled my back on sat and been in pain so have eaten chocolate, flapjack and fairy cakes - plus wine - to make myself feel better

Back on it today, even though back bad. Really want a loss on Saturday before going to a big 40th party on sat night

TheShapeofYou · 24/04/2017 15:37

Well done MrsW!

iklboo · 24/04/2017 17:19

I've just made the baked oats recipe as individual muffins. I doubled the recipe to make 6 muffins (so 3 would be a HEXB but I couldn't eat 3 at once - maybe spread out through the day though). I may go into business making them Grin kidding

Groovee · 25/04/2017 08:04

So weigh in day... will I get the half pound off for my 2 stone award?
