I have put on a stone since Christmas and need to start to make an effort to get rid of it before we get to warmer weather.

I'm going to post here as if I were at group, so if anyone wants to join in, that would be great Smile I have weighed myself this morning and will post regular hopefully minus figures each week. Feel free to share your figures, or not.

If nobody responds, then I guess I am talking to myself, but still...

There's a cafe in my village that is run by SWers and they have SW dishes on the menu

Hi all!

Can I join! I'm doing slimming world online and struggle with not having anyone to chat to about it all!
I've been on and off since September and have lost 1 and a half stones and I've got about one more to lose!

Today I've had coconut and chia granola and skyr for breakfast, a wrap with hallomi, hummus, falafel and roasted veggies, grapes and a pink lady!

I'm doing Slimming World on my own, as I don't feel I can justify £5 a week. Lots of my friends and family are doing it. The only thing I'm not sure about is Healthy B options and how they fit into everything. I usually have rice krispies for breakfast, but apparently they are 4 syns? I find that confusing, as I always thought they were just made from rice Confused

I'm not getting on overly well with the Fry Light sprays, as I can't get it to roast peppers or potatoes! Any tips?

Bibs2014 · 29/03/2017 18:16

Curbside - they aren't fibrous enough to be a Healthy B. I have shredded wheat with the fruit inside it. They're yum. Or fruit and fibre.

Curb - my chips come out lovely with frylight! I spray them loads though and cook for ages!

Groovee · 30/03/2017 07:59

I find 180 on the oven. Parboil chips for 5 mins, then dry them. Spray baking tray and put chips on, spray liberally then pop in the oven for 10 minutes, give the a shoogle and turn if needs be, then cook for 10 mins or longer til brown.

As Groovee says, I find parboiling works well with homemade chips.

Curbside, if you have a kind friend who would let you make some notes from (or even photocopy) the cereal bit from the HE B section of the book, you will find lots of options. I used to stick to Bran Flakes (Waitrose own) but have discovered that Jordan's muesli is on there and it makes such a change!

Shark, can I ask how you fit in the wrap and stuff with granola for breakfast? It sounds delicious but I'd struggle with finding room for that in my HEs. I take it you use your syns? Whatever you do, it sounds like it's working!

I accidentally ate strudel with custard last night. It was bought for Mothers' Day but didn't get eaten then. I don't like throwing away food (problem muchHmm) and the date was up. However, as Bibs said, at least it's gone now...

And I've been told there's a cafe in a part of Bristol near me that does SW food as a part of their menu. Haven't found myself over there at lunchtime yet, though.

Thank you for the fry light tips Smile

I will send a few texts now to ask for the cereal list!

MrsWembley, could you pm me the name and area of the cafe in Bristol? I work there so might be good for lunch if it's nearby.

MrsWembley - I hate food going to waste too! But if it doesn't go to waste it goes to my waist 😂😂😂😂.

Half day at work so just going in now. Meant I had time for bacon, egg and wholemeal toast (hexA) for breakfast

Skinny latte on way in (hexB)

Lunch is leftovers from yesterday - different veg, salad bits, bulgar wheat and some cooked chicken from home.

Chicken, rice or potatoes and broccoli for dinner.

Fruit to snack on.

Hello, mind if I join you? I am a current target member, but struggle to get to real-life group to weigh and chat sometimes. You lot seem a friendly bunch Smile

curbside other cereals I enjoy for breakfast are:

2 x Weetabix with banana (they have new flavoured Weetabix out too, additions or something, which are quite nice)
Bran flakes with fresh berries
Shreddies

I'm pretty sure you can have 40g of these now, so is a decent size bowlful.

I can't get on with Fry Lite, it's just too plasticky for me, and looks/smells weird. I use Filipo Berrio spray oil - 0.5syns for 7 squirts. Seems much nicer.

Today I've had bran flakes with raspberries, lunch was homemade carrot and parsnip soup with a sandwich thin, and dinner will be Mayflower extra hot chicken curry (4 syns but to totally worth it!) with rice and broccoli. Snacks are fruit.

@mrswembley I had a Sainsbury's be good wrap for 6.5 syns! I've been trying to use my syns for sensible things rather than chocolate! Today I've had 0.5syns of freeze dried strawberries, 4.5syns of maple peanut butter and I'll use 2 for my quorn stuffed pasta shells for tea!

@curbside I like overnight oats for breakfast- 40g of oats, non fat yogurt or skyr and fruit layered and left overnight in the fridge!

CurbsideProphet · 30/03/2017 15:14

TheShapeOfYou I bought Shreddies today! I will try to get hold of the Filipo Berrio spray to try Smile

Sharkteeth I'm not keen on most yogurts, aside from muller light vanilla/orange with dark chocolate, and treacle tart. I've also got IBS, which means I'm really restricted when it comes to fruit. I do like porridge though, so maybe I just need to alternate that with Shreddies for now!

I first did SW 19 years ago, when syns were sins. I OD'd on Muller Lights then and can't bear them now Grin (although I made an exception for a blackcurrant & liqcorice one!).Plus I don't like to have too much sweetener, so tend to stick to full-fat or low fat Greek yoghurt. If anyone knows of any fat-free yoghurt without sweetener, please let me know?

Been on Sw since Monday and have been doing really well. Not writing everything down (although I think I should be) but lots of salad, really working had to have 1/3+ of veg each meal.

Been trying to keep off the scales until WI on Monday, but had a sneaky look this morning - 6lb down so far! Yay!

I want need to lose 3at at least, so a good dent into it

This thread is so helpful and full of top tips! Thanks everyone Flowers

TheShapeofYou · 31/03/2017 07:52

Good luck Hey! Stay off your scales though, though I know it's a lot easier said than done!

Try to aim for 1/3 speed, doesn't necessarily have to be veg. I pop a few fresh raspberries on my bran flakes or shreddies in the morning, then put onion/mushroom/peppers/tomatoes in or with an omelette or salad at lunch (they're all speed). Then I try to snack on speed fruit like apples and pears. So if at dinner I end up having a jacket potato and beans, or curry and rice but haven't any veg, I don't feel so bad.

I'd deffo recommend writing everything down, at least for the first 4 weeks. Your consultant can give you some help and tips, or congratulate you, then.

When is WI for you OP? How you doing?

HeyToTheHo · 31/03/2017 09:05

Thanks Shape.

I will start writing down everything I eat.

I used to be an online member but fell off the sw wagon and cancelled the membership. ££ a bit tight at the mo so trying to do it myself Confused
