I thought I posted on here earlier but I couldn't have!

Well after being a bit smug that I hadn't gained over the weekend, I was 4lbs heavier this morning after my meal out last night. WHOOPS!

Was at a conference today so breakfast was a pastry and lunch was a few triangles of dry sandwich and an apple. But back on plan tonight with spag Bol and broccoli for dinner.

harverina · 14/03/2017 20:17

Dutch - its only one meal and you might find you do lose if you have stayed on track the rest of the week.

I'm struggling tonight. Craving carbs as have period and also have swollen glands, sore throats etc. Would love a cup of tea with toast and butter. Might give in to it since I only got weighed today.

I'm also out on Friday though for dinner and drinks so I am mindful of that!

Groovee · 14/03/2017 20:23

I stayed the same. In so much pain from the constipation. I hate iron tablets.

harverina · 14/03/2017 20:49

Groovee are you taking anything to help with it?

When I was on iron I found drinking it down with orange juice helped a lot. Though that would be syns

Groovee · 14/03/2017 20:51

I can't drink orange juice due to it triggering reflux. I'm on laxidoo daily.

ALemonyPea · 14/03/2017 20:57

Commiserations tonthose who've put on.

Groovee, rake some fibogel, always helps me when I need it shifted. Iron tablets have the same effect on me. Is it worth stopoing them and eating lots of green leafy foods instead?

I went over my syns today, but that is ok as I still have all my syns for the week. Had a Costco Cherry Bakewell tart, yummmy.

Sympathies for the gains. I know it's frustrating.

Dutch my consultant suggested writing down 10 reasons you want to lose weight. I keep it in my bullet journal and re-read it when I wobble. It really helps me.

dutchelm · 14/03/2017 23:49

Hi faithagain. Thank you for your suggestion but I really find all the self believe and target for my self stuff hard. I'm doing this all for myself and don't really have any support.
Im 11st5lb and want to get back to 10st3lb. That was my target weight with ww, 15 yrs and 2 kids ago, but I can't work with their points system anymore. I did lose 3 stone in 2 and a half months with them but found i got obsessed with the points system. So wanted to try sw as it's seems more free and I have a lot of family and friends that have lost so much on sw. Just can't seem to get my arse in gear x

FaithAgain · 15/03/2017 07:28

I did WW too and found it too restrictive. I meal plan week by week which helps me stay focused. Then I do my food shop according to the meal plan. I even plan in my syns so I know I have treats that don't take me way over my syns (favourites are Curly Wurlys and Aero mousses - 6 and 5 syns respectively).

Groovee · 15/03/2017 07:29

Someone said laxidoo and fibrogel are the same thing. Thinking about taking an extra at lunch time x

FaithAgain · 15/03/2017 07:33

Groovee they're not quite but the same. Fibrogel has added fibre to help you go, laxido is a laxative that both stimulates the gut and softens stool. IMO (years as a medical nurse) laxido is superior. However if you're very bunged up, the best plan would be to get suppositories from the chemist to get things going. You may need a bottom up (ahem) rather than top down approach at this point.

Groovee · 15/03/2017 07:36

Eek it's the surgery aftermath all over again. Nurse had to give me the suppositories to help it move.

OwlinaTree · 15/03/2017 08:55

Morning all! There were loads of new members last night so new leader did the new members talk for everyone. Decided that I should try some new meals. Got lunch at relatives today, don't know what it will be but probably buffet style. Decided to try the sw fry up as seen in the book! Very strange not having toast dripping with butter on a fry up, but I'm really stuffed and it was all free except a blob of ketchup. Hopefully I will be able to eat quite light at the lunch now.

Hope that you get moving soon groovee. I had iron and morphine after my section and they gave me lactolose (i think that was what it was called!). Seemed to do the trick. Good luck! Have you tried some type of dried fruit? Apricots are high in iron too and you can have some as an hex b.

LavenderRains · 15/03/2017 12:12

Had my Wi this morning and lost 4lb! Which brings me to a total of exactly 4 stone lost Grin
I never thought when I half heartedly started sw that I would lose this much. If I can do it anyone can!

Groovester · 15/03/2017 12:36

I've said it before but I'll say it again, Lavender you are a Star What an achievement! Well done! Flowers

LavenderRains · 15/03/2017 12:44

Thanks groovesterBlush

You're not doing so bad yourself!!

Becky96 · 15/03/2017 13:47

Hello Ladies, me again!
I'm doing an SP day today and I've brought to work some grapes covered in jelly crystals, grapes aren't and S or a P but the crystals have a syn value. So my question is do I syn them or not eat them at all? I've attached a picture so you know what I'm on about, hope you can help!

VilootShesCute · 15/03/2017 14:46

Hello new one here. Is there a safe squash to drink whilst doing sw?

pandorawithtreaclecolouredhair · 15/03/2017 15:17

Groovee, a couple of scan bran a day would cure your constipation: never fails!

ALemonyPea · 15/03/2017 15:21

Becky, I wouldn't have them as they're not a free food, regardless of their syn value, they are still grapes. You need avoid foods that have a free food in them, like yoghurts with a syn, the base is still a free food. Hope that makes sense. I'd use the syns for sauce, oil or a treat like chocolate on an SP day.

Well done on your loss Lavender.

Viloot, you can have no added sugar squash, like Robinsons.

Thank you!

OwlinaTree · 15/03/2017 16:32

Well done lavender that's a fab loss!

Groovee · 15/03/2017 16:43

Well done Lavender.

I wish I had bought scan bran last night!

pandorawithtreaclecolouredhair · 15/03/2017 16:58

Groovee, if there is a Holland and Barrett near you, they sell scan bran.
