Hi All, I am doing the sw diet, I have a breakfast(omelette and 1 slice brown toast or 2rye ryevita) late afternoon I have 300 mls of sugar free jelly with apples and pears cut up and a muller light yogurt, plus will eat other fruit throughout the day. For my evening I might have brown rice, veg and chicken, then finish off with either a curly wurly or 2 digestive, please can anyone tell me if I should have a good weight loss or am I doing something wrong as my own scales weighing me same as I weighed at class last week. Thank you x

diddlybo · 05/04/2017 16:59

Sorry forgot to add that my main liquid intake is tea with 350mls skimmed milk 🙂

BasinHaircut · 05/04/2017 16:59

diddly I'd say you are missing lunch! Are you counting your syns? If you are staying within 15 that sounds like you will have a loss but doesn't sound like much good?

ALemonyPea · 05/04/2017 17:06

Diddly, sounds ok, but you're depriving yourself a bit. You can have a huge variety of food, so don't stick to the same stuff. Make sure you count your syns, and weigh your A and B choices. You'll have a loss with what you're eating though.

I don't drink milk, currently enjoying having cheese cubes and pickled onions for my A choice And some speed.

diddly

  1. eat more food! Sounds like you'd get hungry!

  2. food optimise (basically eat 1/3 speed!) from what you've said your speed sounds low.
1 pear, 1 apple and some veg (Maybe not even speed) is all you're having it seems, so unless a pear and some veg (let's assume it is speed) is actually 1/3 of what you are eating, then you need to increase it :)

By 1/3 I mean 1/3 of a plate. So "volume", Not 1/3 calories or weight

00100001 · 05/04/2017 18:27

Besure ito check what counts as speed. For example these are NOT speed;
Sweetcorn
Peas
Sweet potato
Parsnips

Banana
Grapes
Mango
Pineapple
Kiwi

Groovee · 05/04/2017 18:31

What about lunch?

FaithAgain · 05/04/2017 19:23

Ooh yes you need more food Diddly! I eat loads. My favourite day:
B: 2 GF 'weetabix' with a banana and skimmed milk
Snack: Apple
Lunch: GF Pasta with tuna, 1 tbsp of mayo (2 syns), whatever salad I have around including plenty of speed food
Dinner: usually lean meat with potatoes and veg, rice and chilli (full of speed), pasta and bolognese (I'd have homemade soup for lunch on a day I have pasta for dinner)
Favourite syn treats are: curly wurlys (6), aero mousse (5), Freddos (5), just discovered Metcalfe's skinny popcorn sweet and salted 18g bags are only 3 1/2 syns! You get a sweet hit and crunchy food!

It's a hard concept to get around but SW works well when you eat plenty. Lots of fresh ingredients, personally I cook from scratch because I don't eat wheat, ready meal choices are limited! I had a colleague comment on my weight loss. She asked what I ate most days. She was Shock when I told her, she couldn't believe I ate more than her but was losing weight!

I've lost 1lb tonight Smile not miraculous but happy I'm back on it after my small gain last week. Best news today, been to the doctor for a review. A. She's taking me seriously about my chronic abdo pain and doing further investigations and b. She said in August when I had bloods done I had indicators of a fatty liver, in January (when I'd lost nearly 2 stone having done SW for 3 months) my liver was normal Grin well chuffed with that. I know I look and feel better but now I genuinely know I've improved my health too!

OwlinaTree · 05/04/2017 20:57

Well done getting to target ali.

BasinHaircut · 05/04/2017 21:29

Dinner wasn't 'strictly' on plan as there was no speed. Gammon, 2 eggs, 6 syns worth of oven chips and 1 syns of ketchup. So end the days on 8 syns but a bit light on speed today. I'm still counting that as on plan though Grin

Went to an exercise class which wasn't as great as I was hoping but at least I did something. Might make up for the lack of speed Grin

Hereslookingatyoukid · 06/04/2017 00:39

Has anyone got any tips for snacks on SW? I'm only a week in and finding it straightforward but other than fruit/veg sticks what do you all snack on? Need some inspiration- thanks!

Wh0Kn0wsWhereTheTimeGoes · 06/04/2017 06:26

Down 1.5lb this week. Most importantly that takes me back to where I was before I lapsed at the end of Feb.

Snacking - that's where the syns come in for me, a pack of crisps or similar. I take a very flexible approach to HexA and B too, I use a small amount of milk (about 10mL skimmed) in each of about 4 cups of tea and have cheese as well. One slice of bread at breakfast and another later as a snack. I don't eat much sweet stuff other than fruit.

Groovee · 06/04/2017 06:58

I like to make sweet potato pakora for snacking. I'll have some crisps at some point. On a Wednesday after brownies I often have Ryvita with cheese spread on it as HE A/B

ALemonyPea · 06/04/2017 07:00

My snacks are the usual fruit and veg, as snacks should be speed stuff. For treats, I usually have them with a meal, as just trying to have three meals a day, no snacking. However, that's just me and I'm being rigid as near target. My list of low synned snack things:

Mini pepperami 1 syn
20g salted propercorn 4 syns
Hula hoop pufts 3.5 syns
2 finger kit Kat 5.5 syns
Lindt ball 4 syns
18g dairy milk mini bar 5 syns
Ferrero rocher 3.5 syns

If your going down the free food route, them ham with salad/gherkins rolled up in the middle is a nice little filler

I try not to snack

But when I do its fruit, veg sticks, hard boiled eggs, yoghurt, cold meats, fish cakes ( made with fish, onion and potatoes), tuna bites, jerky/biltong

BasinHaircut · 06/04/2017 09:06

Yep fruit here for snacks. I also have some of the big snack a jacks that are 2 syns each, in a few different flavours but salt and vinegar and caramel are my favorite so I've got a choice of sweet or savoury.

Using all of my syns on lunch today though. Chicken wrap from the food market opposite work for lunch. Delicious and I reckon about 15, maybe 18 syns but I've got plenty spare from the past 2 days.

I've downloaded that SlimIt app which looks like it might be good for counting syns too. Will start using it today.

Groovee · 06/04/2017 09:20

I've been using the slimit app. Really liking it.

KnobJockey · 06/04/2017 09:42

Walkers baked stars are good if you want crisps- a multipack bag is 4 or 4.5 syns, and they satisfy me a lot more when I need 'proper' crisps, not light ones. The cheese and onion are obviously the best flavour !

ALemonyPea · 06/04/2017 09:43

I downloaded the slimit app, is it just to keep track of your syns and A B choices? Does it have the syns in it or do you just add them manually? Is it that basic, or am I missing something?

Jesus fuck.

Just dug my davina cds out. Tried to do a 30 minute core stability one but it's lots of floor work which was basically an invitation for ds to jump on me. So switched to a 7 minute fat burner. I didn't realise a person could sweat so much in 7 minutes. Well it was about 20 with the warm up and cool down stretchy bit. Won't be able to walk later I don't think.

I don't really snack but if I do I alternate between cherry tomatoes and crab sticks or a slice of ham. Or fruit if it's a sweet fix I want. And then a ff yog if I am still hungry. Or use a few syns on a hifi bar if I have had my b choice. But I try and save my bs for after tea.

Todays plan.

B. Coffee
L. Soup I think. Possibly a sarnie.
T. Mayflower chicken curry, egg fried rice and stirfry veg for speed.

Not sure on syns or b choice yet. I might not be able to climb out of the shower yet so will probably be soap!

Groovee · 06/04/2017 10:17

@ALemonyPea you add it all manually but a good way for me track if I have my syns while out x

diddlybo · 06/04/2017 10:22

Thank you to everyone for reply, yes I had an idea I was not eating enough, today breakfast was 45g of weetabix crunchy bran, mint mullerlite, pear and cup of t and I am stuffed lol. Congrats to everyone on a fab group, it is so inspiring to read all your posts and see such brilliant achievements, and I am so grateful for your help. This is wi tonight so will let you all know IF I lose, 😮Xx

BasinHaircut · 06/04/2017 10:39

Good luck diddly.

Yes I think slimit is that basic but as long as you remember to enter them as you go along it might help.

I never miss a&in choices as I have cereal almost every day but I know I do lose count of syns easily if I don't log it!

ALemonyPea · 06/04/2017 10:44

It's a good way to keep track, I'm using it, just wasn't sure if it did anything else.

Frouby, is your DS all better now with the pox?
