Pasta salad? Or cous cous? Or I often do scrambled eggs, mushrooms and tomato in the microwave. I throw in bits of whatever's left in the fridge (pepper, courgette etc) or some frozen spinach into the scrambled egg and add curry powder for a bit of oomph and then cook mushrooms and a tomato separately to go with it.

ALemonyPea · 28/03/2017 16:54

Egg muffins
Pasta salads
Crustless quiche
Frittata

(Sort of an egg theme going on there)

Oops, pressed too soon

Jacket potatoes? You could take the fillings with you as well, beans etc, or cottage cheese.

Crustless quiche sounds interesting, and I hadn't thought of pasta or couscous salads. Jacket potatoes are a good idea too. Thank you!! I can do this...3lb off by this time next week. Like the idea of scrambled eggs with various veg and a bit of curry powder.

I've been adding chilli flakes to pretty much everything lately - apart from my overnight oats because that would be wrong Wink

I cooked sea bass, wrapped in foil, with a tablespoon of low cal honey and mustard salad dressing drizzled over it, chilli and garlic flakes, baked in the oven for 15 minutes and served with mash and salad - it was DELICIOUS!! I live on the coast and can buy freshly caught bass on my way home from work in the morning.

TheImprobableGirl · 28/03/2017 18:45

Sounds delicious emma!
I have some frozen salmon fillets that I'm not really sure what to do with... I don't eat fish really (had a fish finger about 6 months ago!) but I know it is super good for you... any ideas would be good.
Also I have a tube of primula cheese with chives, wondering if it would work with mashed potato? Other recipes would be good too!

OwlinaTree · 28/03/2017 19:32

I like a salad for lunch, takes ages to eat and I put loads of protein on, some mix of ham, chicken, eggs, Tuna usually.

Lost 1.5lb this week which I was delighted with! Had a few off plan meals so was surprised to lose at all. Only 1lb away from the next stone bracket and 1.5lb away from the 2.5 stone award so possible in a week. I've had two weeks of good losses though so I will have to wait and see what happens!

whereareyousleep · 28/03/2017 19:33

1lb gain for me today which although I predicted still makes me sad I don't like going backwards. Will try extra hard this week would like to lose 2lb next week for my 1 1/2 stone

alibongo5 · 28/03/2017 19:43

Well, I needed 3lb to get to target and I got....(drum roll)........

2 1/2 lb. Sod it! Ah well, look on the bright side, if I'd got there I probably would have been silly this week and put some straight back on, whereas at least now I still have to try.

whereareyou you can do it - I put on a lb last week and I didn't like it - but lost it plus extra this week. You WILL get that 1 1/2 stone next week. And if I lost 1 1/2 so will I!!!

PositiveAttitude · 28/03/2017 19:57

Well done on all the losses. And just keep going, to those who have not managed a loss this time.

I am mega chuffed with a 1.5lb loss this week. It finally seems to be moving again, after being "stuck" for the majority of the last 3 months. I have been making a concerted effort to drink loads of water and I swear that is what has made it budge again. I bought myself a nice drinking bottle which holds nearly 1litre and I have 1 before breakfast, 1 through the morning/lunch, 1 through lunch/afternoon and 1 for the evening. I would recommend it to anyone who feels stuck.

alibongo5 · 28/03/2017 20:01

Emma - that sea bass sounds wonderful by the way. And yes, I add chilli to almost everything!

Now it's a bit nicer weather I think I must try to drink more water - somehow it's not so appealing when it's cold and grey out!

OrianaBanana · 28/03/2017 20:03

Improbable could you combine salmon and primula with pasta? Sounds lovely Smile

ALemonyPea · 28/03/2017 20:04

That's just typical Ali! You'll get it next week.

I probably, my favourite thing for salmon is to put some Chinese 5 spice, soy sauce, cover with foil and bake in the oven. Serve with stir fry and noodles, delicious.

OMG I don't know how but 3lb down bring my loss to 1st 10.5lbs in 13 weeks. Got slimmer of the week, slimmer of the month and hit my club 10!

ALemonyPea · 28/03/2017 20:33

That's amazing Groovee, well done.

Mmm Lemony that sounds good too - have you tried Pinch of Nom's Teriyaki salmon with noodles? That's similar.

Tonight I chucked some carrot, sweet potato, leeks, red onion, (otherwise known as what was left in the veg rack) in an oven dish with cumin seeds, fennel seeds, garlic, spicy paprika, and maybe a couple of other things I've forgotten - oh a little bit of honey. Roasted for a bit and then chucked some frozen plaice and half a bag of scallops on top. Bloody lovely!

Groovee · 28/03/2017 20:42

Oh @alibongo5 I'm coming to yours that sounds awesome.

BasinHaircut · 28/03/2017 20:50

Well done everyone!

ali how frustrating! But this time next week you will be celebrating I'm sure!

Just did a mini workout. Just a 10 minute circuit 5 cardio and 5 weights exercises plus some abs at the end but at least it's something. Having a cheese omelette (5 syns) and chips (6 syns) for tea with a mound of cucumber on the side for speed.

Weetabix and milk for breakfast (HEXA&B)

Snack - apple and satsuma, coffee (sugar 2 syns)

Lunch - pulled pork (2-3 syns), sweet pots and green beans.

So may have gone 1 syn over but I'm not too worried about that.

FaithAgain · 28/03/2017 20:51

Ali argh!! You've done so well. Any other week 2.5lb off would fantastic! Stick with it til next week.

Great stuff Groovee.

I've had too much today...not crazily over syns but a fair bit. WI tomorrow. Will see how I get on.

ALemonyPea · 28/03/2017 21:17

Excelłent Groovee, love the dress. This is me fitting in to a size 12 dress yesterday! Haven't bought it, but might. Need some really good body sculpt underwear first.

Wow Lemony that looks great! I bet you never thought you'd get so far! I've decided to go on a bit of a shopping spree soon to find some figure hugging stuff! My daughter is 21 this week and then has exams so I think once she's done with those a trip to the shop is in order!

Faith - exactly! the lovely lady on the WI looked very puzzled when I was not pleased - until she realised of course!

Oh and my consultant and group was actually ok tonight - when a new person said that her food intake was ok it was just the alcohol, the consultant laughed and said "welcome to slimming world" with a pointed look at me and my new alcohol-loving pal who said "I'm not an alcoholic" to which someone else replied "no, that's your next meeting".

Am having a shit-load of syns in the form of red wine tonight and tomorrow (night out at a friend's) before abstaining again until my daughter's birthday.

Thanks everyone for making this such a nice sociable place to talk about SW without having to bore my friends with my ups and downs!

Groovee · 28/03/2017 21:33

@ALemonyPea that is lovely on you.

@ninenicknames I just use water and don't bother with milk.

@alibongo5 I love this group too x

A wee one at work gave me a malteaser bunny today. Realised I had only had half a syn all day so devoured it 😂

ALemonyPea · 28/03/2017 21:35

Nine, they're free and any milk added can me synned or HEA, your choice.

Thanks Ali, this time last year I was a size 22 and cried when out shopping as couldn't find anything to fit for an engagement party. I still think I look awful in that photo, all lumps and bumps.

Enjoy your wine, and ignore the god awful consultant you have.

And sorry, we scoffed the lot!
