Dogbill that is incredible! Well done, and with the exercise too, that's really impressive, and something I need to get my head around myself, as a largely sedentary person.
Also good on you, Basin for your loss after the chinese buffet.

First weigh in tomorrow at 9.30, so no breakfast for me aside from a cuppa. I'm not expecting a big loss though, as I feel I overdid the free stuff this week. We'll see. Then it will be home and I'll make the banana oat pancakes for breakfast in honour of the day.
Today was not too bad.
B. Bran flakes (HEb) & milk (HEa), strawberry/raspberry/nectarine salad
L. Lf cottage cheese & Tesco rainbow couscous
D. Tuna steak with nicoise salad (website recipe) & a Muller Lite Yogurt

Am about settle down with a synful gin and slimline. Cheers everyone.

ClashCityRocker · 27/02/2017 19:26

It's a great feeling when you're expecting a maintain or gain, isn't it basin? In some ways, wi on a Thursday is quite handy in that respect! Although I have thought I'd gain most weeks. In fact this is the first week where I actually feel like I've lost....watch it, I'll bloody gain now!

harder will you feel worse after chocolate? Can you have a controlled chocolate hit? It's shit when something throws you off track.

No pancakes for me either. I'm not over fussed by them.

Just made omelette for tea with oh shit salad in the side. 1 syn for brown sauce. Need to get meal plan sorted for this week, we've got plenty in but some days I just Cba to cook after work.

Dh does offer, but his talents lie in other areas...might get him to do that campfire stew in the slow cooker at the weekend, he can just about cope with the slow cooker.

Groovee · 27/02/2017 19:37

Well done Basin x

BasinHaircut · 27/02/2017 19:51

Cheers all. Yes a good feeling especially after the Chinese buffet. I know my syns have been guessed most of the week too, and speed has been lacking so hopefully I can do better this week. Although I might have a takeaway this weekend. Although if we do I'll do it Friday do I have one to reign it back in.

Im not ordinarily fussed about sweet stuff but I do love a pancake so I'm going for it. I can go through waster and Xmas without chocolate but I WILL have pancakes Grin

Haven't had dinner yet so will probably be tomorrow now rather than tonight as planned.

TheImprobableGirl · 27/02/2017 20:10

Well done all those that weighed and lost! No matter how small Smile my group lost 33lb as a whole.... but also gained 32lb as a whole Grin I was smack bang in the middle with a maintain which I'm really happy about actually- particularly considering i only weighed in on Wednesday so it was a part week for me really!

Still need 2.5 to get to my half stone award so hoping for 3.

I can't remember who was having the Indian... maybe began with o? Grin but I'm going for an Indian tonight- thinking a jalfrezi with extra chickpeas. Anybody got a clue on what saag paneer would be?

harderandharder2breathe · 27/02/2017 20:27

Thanks clash I had some chocolate (more than my syns) but I didn't eat all of it which is huge for me as I generally can't keep it in the house without scarfing down every bit of it

Shamoffour · 27/02/2017 20:37

Hey all, welcome to the new peopleSmile dogbill that's some loss! I bet you look like a completely different person!
Good day for me but I forgot today is my weigh in day and didn't weigh so will do in the morning.

B-mango,papaya, ffgreek yogurt and walnuts (heb)
L-crayfish and avocado salad (5? Syns) not much avocado so I'm guessing
D-roast beef and carrots bit random as I was picking from the kids tea.
S-fruit salad

BasinHaircut · 27/02/2017 21:25

Had my pancakes tonight. Just finished them, had 3 but only made batter with 1 egg, bit of flour and milk so they were only thin things. Covered them in golden syrup and they were delicious. Probably eleventy billion syns but I'm not going to even try and work it out because I was going to have them exactly how I wanted them anyway so I'd rather not know Grin

Back on it tomorrow. Will decide later in the week if I'm going to have a takeaway at the weekend.

geekyboo · 27/02/2017 21:51

Well done to everyone who has lost , and also well done to those choosing to control/limit their pancakes tomorrow, superb self control there. Just had first weigh in , was 9lb heavier than i thought but tbh i was probably just kidding myself. So 3st 9lb to lose overall. Feeling ok about it, always irks me that my DH gets 25syns to use though...grrrrrr. Think im going to miss not being able to eat as much avocado and nuts as i want without synning or heb(ing), is there any nutritious yet calorific food that people really miss?

WaitrosePigeon · 27/02/2017 21:53

Second week and 2.5lbs down. Feel quite deflated to be honest as other people seem to loose much more in their first few weeks.

What has everyone's losses here been like early on?

WaitrosePigeon · 27/02/2017 21:54

I miss avocado so badly

geekyboo · 27/02/2017 21:54

clashcityrocker i know it can be irritating when you know your dh is always going to be better at these sorts of things (if hes set his mind to something, it gets done). But i dont mind too much as his weight loss has already improved his wellbeing so much. However dont get me started on his 25syns compared to my 15.....grrrrrr

geekyboo · 27/02/2017 21:57

waitrosepigeon i know right, if you decide to have a small amount, how will you use it best? Was thinking making the most of it by maybe putting it on a slice of toast. Dont want it to go to waste masking it with other food lol.

Shamoffour · 27/02/2017 22:01

I've been eating lots more nuts and avocado recently. Since giving up the sugar I haven't got anything else to use my syns in really. I've been loving nuts but the portions aren't very big for your heb! 3 walnuts barely touch the sides. I crumble them up and sprinkle on fruit and yogurt to try and make them go further!

Shamoffour · 27/02/2017 22:03

I mix it with balsamic, 7 sprays of olive oil (1 syn) and rock salt. Then I pile it on a ryvita or have it with bacon and rocket. Yum!

whereareyousleep · 27/02/2017 22:04

@waitrose I tend to lose quite alot one week between 2-4lb then only lose 0.5lb the following week so you may find you have a bigger loss next week.

OwlinaTree · 27/02/2017 23:11

Well done losers! Not much to report here, wi tomorrow evening for me. I think it's tasting night again - ffs. If it is I'm not staying, it's my sons birthday this week and I've got enough to do cooking for that!

noodlezoodle · 27/02/2017 23:46

Well done losers! Improbable, I'm loving the group losing 33lb but putting on 32lb Grin.

Had the egg muffin/frittata things for breakfast this morning instead of my usual weetabix and they were delicious (and free, with a bit of HEA). I was still hungry after two of them though, so had a light & free greek yoghurt to follow up.

harverina · 27/02/2017 23:51

Hello!

Looking for some advice please.

I was always a Weight Watcher but last year decided no more diets and started to calorie count instead. I loved that I could eat what I wanted within cals. I lost 26lbs and really toned up at the gym. I still had a long way to go but felt great.

In October I really lost my way - I have some excuses in the sense that I was going through some personal issues which really impacted my commitment to the gym and since then I've just been off the rails.

I always vowed that I wouldn't join another slimming club or follow another plan but I'm at the end of my tether and need to do something to lose weight.

I need a plan that fits in with family life - that doesn't stick out as a diet. Something that won't leave me starving but with no cals left at the end of the day.

What is slimming world really like? I've never done it before but so
Many people I speak to seem to be joining up
And being successful on it!

BasinHaircut · 28/02/2017 07:45

harv in my opinion SW beats calorie counting hands down as although you will be changing what you eat, you aren't restricted in how much you eat which is a real plus point for me.

It also encourages a healthy approach to food rather than just weight loss. You will be increasing fruit and veg intake for example, and making sure you get calcium and fibre each day, whilst reducing fat and refined sugars, all without needing to go hungry because you can eat as much as you need to feel satisfied.

ALemonyPea · 28/02/2017 07:50

Happy Pancake Tuesday Tossers. Grin

Waitrose, don't be disheartened. Some people have big losses, others have small. It's not a sprint, as long as you're losing, it's fine.

I don't like avocado, so can't help there. I do miss crisp sandwiches though.

Harverina, I used to be an avid WW supporter, yet would lose and gain the same stone over and over again, as it was so easy to eat crap. I've lost six stone on SW, and it is by far the easiest diet I've done as you can have such variety.

WaitrosePigeon · 28/02/2017 08:12

Thanks everyone. I know, a loss is a loss. I was used to big losses on Weight Watchers but that obviously didn't work or I wouldn't be here Grin

Shamoffour · 28/02/2017 09:33

4lbs off for me this morn. I should bloody well think so too!
Harverina definitely works for family I have dp and 4dc who all eat exactly what I do and enjoy it. I find it really easy to prepare healthy meals for everyone now.
The only thing you need to be aware of is that everything is made from scratch so it takes a bit of organisation at first but once you get into the swing of things it's fine and really is a healthy eating plan rather than a diet.
My top tip is always make extra when you're cooking and freeze it. I usually have 3 or 4 frozen things then of I'm having a cat be bothered night I've always got something quick to throw in the microwave.

ALemonyPea · 28/02/2017 09:38

Well done Sham!

alibongo5 · 28/02/2017 10:22

Well done Sham and Dogbill and all the other losers!

WI in for me tonight - think I'll have lost but not a substantial amount (due to my alcohol intake!) Have just about come in about right for my weekly syns but I think I may have forgotten/underestimated a few!

Haven't had any breakfast because I ran out of time preparing a casserole for the slow cooker for after WI. I did bring some weetabix to work in case I felt hungry but don't yet so will see how it goes. Carrot and lentil soup for lunch should fill me til WI.
