I was looking forward to WI this week but the past few days I've been getting steadily less on plan. Nothing toooo bad but I can feel it going that way so I'd better rein it in.

I'm glad to be able to go to my normal later class this week - last week I went to the earlier one and it was full of kids - fine - but they were running amok, playing with dangerous things and had to be rescued, shouting, banging doors and escaping and having to be chased down. In the meantime two separate groups of adults were chatting amongst themselves most of the time so I couldn't hear anything else. Angry I wouldn't mind so much but it's a bit nice for me to have somewhere to get out to with the baby these days (who normally sleeps through so I can drink hot tea) Smile

I hate this wind and rain too - convinced the house will break in some way. I just want to stay in and eat!! Confused

LavenderRains · 23/02/2017 13:34

emmageddon the Iceland meals are vile!
I tried a couple when I first started sw and they were either so spicy you could taste nothing. Or they tasted of vinegarConfused

I don't usually enter my weight online but for some reason decided to do it today - went back to when I started in November and entered each weekly WI. I found the graph helpful - it made me realise how slowly things were going since Christmas really so now my holiday's out of the way, I'm really going to give it my all.

I've got 3.5 lb to get to 10 club thingy and then 4 more to get to my target. So I'm going to aim for getting there in four weeks - three if I can.

If only there was no alcohol in the world......

BasinHaircut · 23/02/2017 13:44

madein1995 thanks. TBH it's not the oil I'm afraid of, it's the salt! I'm going to be retaining water for weigh in on Monday.

I'm having a good week so far though so hopefully it won't be too bad. I'm happy to maintain in the knowledge I might be holding a bit of water, but really don't want to see a gain as I got my stone award on Monday and so don't want to undo that achievement!

As DH says though, we still have to live our lives and have to look at the long term. Getting hung up on 1 week's weigh in is a bit silly in the grand scheme of it.

Today has been:
B - weetabix and milk, Apple
L - lamb and cous cous salad
Sn - banana and yoghurt (4 syns)
D - paprika chicken, chorizo and rice (3 syns)

ALemonyPea · 23/02/2017 13:52

Hmm, the nice wether hasn't lasted. Miserable and wet now.

Today food wise hasn't been too great as need fruit and veg, but nobody to get it for me. So getting by on what little I have, had beans on toast for dinner, no speed, then had some monster munch and a cornetto. Oh dear. DH wants to get Chinese tonight as well. Something light for me I think.

ali I love my graph on the website. As soon as I get home from group I update it every week Grin

I've got 3lbs to club 10 and 7.5lbs to target. Although I'm not sure if my target is actually set. Although I want to check how target works because someone told me if I want to reduce it once I get there I have to do so by half a stone? I might take it down another 3lbs but I don't want to reduce it to -7lbs and I won't know how I feel until I get there whether I want to reduce it at all.

BasinHaircut · 23/02/2017 14:17

lemony just do what you can whilst you are recovering. It must be so frustrating after your amazing achievement to know that it's pretty much out of your control right now. But maybe a bit of a break is what you need to get you off that plateau? Once you are fighting fit you can come back with a vengeance!

alibongo5 · 23/02/2017 14:45

basin So we're exactly the same! What fun! I hope we reach both of our goals together. Like you, I'm not sure about what to do if I want to reset my target weight but am waiting til I get there - it's been a mirage on the horizon for so long it seems!

BasinHaircut · 23/02/2017 15:00

I think it might take me longer than 4 weeks to get there ali but I'm ok with that. I've got my birthday coming up in a few weeks so I don't expect to make any progress then!

Afternoon all

Glad you are feeling a bit better Lemony.

Very blustery here. Been to softplay for a few hours and now hunkering down for the rest of the day.

B. Coffee
L. A banana and 3 nicked chips at soft play
T. Spag bol. And probably some green beans I need to use up. Or maybe salad. But am not a fan of salad with saucy things like spag bol so probably go for the beans.

Syns will be a g and t later.

alibongo5 · 23/02/2017 15:17

basin it will probably take me longer too but I'm trying to kick my arse into gear!

BasinHaircut · 23/02/2017 15:50

I'm on a hen do in 8 weeks so I might aim for that and a nice new outfit for it Smile

ClashCityRocker · 23/02/2017 17:12

WI tonight. I get so nervous before WI and am convinced I'll put on every time. Also just the thought of wi makes me constipated for some reason. I can be fine all week, but Thursday morning my bowels clamp shut, normally to be back to business at around 9pm - just after wi.

i will be doubly devestated if I put on tonight as I'm only 0.5lb off my first stone.

ChessieFL · 23/02/2017 17:47

Basin, you can change your target to whatever you like, doesn't have to be by half a stone.

Groovee · 23/02/2017 18:18

Hi Everyone.

Knackered today but have done ok food wise. Had a huge amount of fruit for breakfast.

Then a spinach and turkey omelette in my new omelette maker for lunch. Had 2 heck Chicken Italia sausages and sugar snap peas and carrots.

Dinner was steak and prawn with a nice sauce and Cajun wedges with green beans and carrots.

I want to make butternut squash soup tomorrow. Does anyone have an easy recipe.

Good luck everybody weighing in tonight.
I'm on 13 hour shift today so had to plan ahead.
B; yogurt and satsumas
D; ham sandwich (hexB) strawberries and blueberries
T; will be tomato and mushroom omelette and some cherries.
Just had a mugshot and hifi bar on my tea break.

I've not set a target yet. I'm thinking maybe 4.5 stone. I've lost 3 stone 8lb so far.
Do you stop paying when you reach target? Can I set a target at any time?

BasinHaircut · 23/02/2017 18:59

Cheers chessie, I'm going to have a word with my consultant on Monday and see if a- I have a target set (I did kind of mention it on my first night to the lady who weighed me) and b- see how it works in terms of setting one. Right now in my head it's 10st 10lbs, but once I get there I might want to change it to 10st 7lbs. Not a great difference but I thought I'd have to change it to 10st 3lbs which would be too low.

BasinHaircut · 23/02/2017 19:00

lav I think you have to maintain it (or stay in range) for a few weeks before you get your free membership etc

ChessieFL · 23/02/2017 19:26

Once you reach target you stop paying immediately and you don't pay as long as you stay 3lb either side of your target weight. If you go more than 3lb over or under target you start paying again until you're back in that 3lb range.

ChessieFL · 23/02/2017 19:26

And yes you can set or change a target at any time.

ALemonyPea · 23/02/2017 20:06

Ended today with a Chinese meal, couldn't even eat half of it, felt a bit sick. I'm not used to it I suppose and in a way it's for the best. Enjoyed what little I did have.

Once you get to target it's free, you don't have to attend each week, just once every eight. You need to be in target three lbs either side, if you go over you have a grace week and if you're still above or below that in your next WI then you pay.

BasinHaircut · 23/02/2017 20:20

Thanks for clarifying guys!

lemony yeah it's good that your body is rejecting crap food. I certainly have less tolerance for greasy foods when I'm eating healthily.

I think if and when I get to target I'd still go most weeks otherwise I'd soon fall out of range Grin

BasinHaircut · 23/02/2017 20:24

Dinner tonight was paprika chicken and rice. It had peppers and onions and mushrooms in it but wasn't a third speed by any stretch of the imagination.

Lunch was a massive salad though so I'm not too bothered. Everything else was still on plan and only about 10 syns used today.

OrianaBanana · 23/02/2017 20:25

I've a feeling lowering your target by less than 7lbs is at your consultant's discretion - otherwise you could theoretically set your target high and keep lowering it bit by bit and never pay.

Or you could just be cheeky and ask the weigh in person to do it / do it yourself if you're on weigh...

emwithme · 23/02/2017 20:25

re target - if you change it before you get there, you can change by any amount. If you wait until you have hit it (unless you have set it as an interim target) then, strictly speaking, you have to reduce it by 7 lbs or more. Some consultants don't follow this rule so strictly, but some do.

Once you've hit target, as long as you are within 3 lbs either way ("target range") then you go completely free. If you do go outside this range then you have a week to get back into target, otherwise you have to start paying again. SW advise weighing in at least once a month so you don't go completely off the rails.

You can call target at any time, you don't need to be within a certain weight bracket or BMI range or anything. I called target at a 4 stone loss this time, weighing 12 stone 5 lbs. My BMI is 27. I am a curvy size 12, could possibly lose another stone but I weigh the same now as I did when I was 18 and know that I can maintain this weight (which I have proved since by staying within range over Christmas and NY and only going out last week for the first time - by 1/2 lb - because of birthday excesses!)
