I stayed the same, which I'm happy with as expected to gain

Ho hum back to the grind

Sorry I am diving straight in without even trying to catch up on what I've missed since I've been away.

Skiing was absolutely wonderful with blue skies and perfect snow. The hotel was great - four course meals every night with a help-yourself buffet for starter and puddings, of which there was a choice of probably eight per night. So after the first night I didn't even approach the table!

With a little discipline (not too much though, I was on holiday!) I put on 1.5lb. In some ways I'm surprised it was so little given how much alcohol and naughty bits I had. But on the other - I was on plan for the best part of a week before I went since the last WI (so surely that must have been at least -1 lb) and I was skiing for bloody 7 hours a day!! Does that count for bloody nothing!

Anyway, line drawn, back on it with a vengeance. Resisted wine last night even though there was a half drunk bottle sitting next to me saying "go on drink me".

My goal is 3.5 lb this week to get me to the 10 club - will be difficult but aiming high!

Groovee · 22/02/2017 11:48

Decided to make chips with curry sauce for lunch. Pickled onions for speed (possibly carrots and cucumber too)

ALemonyPea · 22/02/2017 12:26

I agree about the madness of one mashed banana being synned. If you're just having one banana, then I wouldn't syn it either. It's a different story if it's in a smoothie.

Glad you have a good holiday Ali. You may well have a good loss next week, your body catching up with all that exercise. Skiing has never appealed to me, I'd be the one sitting in the log cabin drinking hot choc and eating pastries.

It's taking me all my will power not to pig out. I am totally bored stiff, have nothing to do other than watch shitty tv, read and MN. on a usual day it would be ideal, but I'm so bored now. DH is off next week, so hopefully we can go out, I'll borrow SIL wheelchair if I have to as can't walk far without feeling dizzy. Even making breakfast this morning, my head was spinning.

Lemony - sympathies - enforced slobbing is never the same as when you know you should/could be doing other things! Hope you feel less dizzy soon and manage to get out. Is there nothing else on the internet you can absorb yourself in? Try doing your family tree - I guarantee you will lose hours/weeks/months of your life once you start!

madein1995 · 22/02/2017 13:05

I have soldiered on in the face of temptation (otherwise known as KFC) Grin had mango for breakfast, and now tucking into a kfc mini fillet and homemade (well not homemade, but not from kfc) rice and salad for 3 syns. That would be virtuous if not for the fact that I ate a mini wrap and 1.5tsps nutella at 1am this morning before going to bed, therefore upping todays syns to 7.5 already! Am keeping my Healthy extras for milk and 2x hifi bars this evening as thats when I'm prone to picking. Tea will either be a mango salad for 2.5 syns but v. low calorie, or pasta with bacon and passata and herbs and a side salad, am undecided. Either way, will be eating lots of fruit!

madein1995 · 22/02/2017 13:13

Well done lavender, fab news!

I agree with the whole mashed banana thing. I kind of understand that it's easier to eat more of fruit if it's mashed - but at the same time, I might eat 2 bananas in a day anyway so by mashing two, I wouldn't be using more calories. With smoothies I used to make a lot of them and drink them (and not syn them, naughty!) and still lost weight but I did used to use them as a meal eg breakfast, and not as a drink ifyswim, so I wasn't neccesarily overeating. I used to put in the equivilent of a glass of milk, a banana and a handful of strawberries and a satsuma for eg, so no different to eating a bowl of fruit with milk (in my mind). I have stopped the smoothies now though Smile

ALemonyPea · 22/02/2017 13:16

Well done Lavender 🎉🎉🎉

Not much I can do, tracing my family tree isn't something I'd be interested in due to crap family history. Wish I could find something like that though.

Can't even find a box set that excites me.

Going to try have a nap soon as DS2 at respite. That's about the excitement of the day for me .

Did you watch apple tree yard lemony? It's still on iplayer I think and well worth watching. As long as you are not offended by lots of sex!

Another good day so far so will probably put on another 2lbs next week!!

B-banana and a coffee
L-omelette with bacon, spinach, tomato and mushrooms and fruit and Greek yogurt
D-chicken stir fry
Heb-walnuts

ALemonyPea · 22/02/2017 13:35

Yes, I really enjoyed it. The second episode was very graphic wasn't it.

Haha at you putting 2lb on. I bet you have an amazing loss.

According to my scales this morning I've lost 5lb since I weighed myself Friday. Thats about the weight gain from stress eating though beforehand, so just about even Stevens now, which is great. Should have a little loss by the time I'm back at group, and good motivation to stay on plan.

Going out to a curry house tonight :/

Does anyone have any good tips for what the lowest syn dishes would be? :)

00100001 · 22/02/2017 14:33

To clarify, it's possibly a banquet deal - so starter, side, main rice/naan

I'm thinking:

Starter: ??
main: Chicken Tandoori or tikka
Side: chickpea dhal or bombay potatoes
Rice/naan: plain rice

I might just skip the starter though.

TheImprobableGirl · 22/02/2017 14:59

best options for an Indian are
Boiled rice (free)
A tomato based dish eg jalfrezi/dupiaza/bhuna/madras are 10-17 syns depending on on what's in them/which one you choose. Veg balti around 16 etc whereas a lamb passanda is 33!

Steer clear of the breads (even chapati is 13 syns) maybe opt for a poppadom or two for 4 syns each- lime pickle is 1 and raita 1.5 per level tbsp. Obviously saladdy bits will be free

Chicken tikka is a good choice at about 3 syns (can't find it exactly) or something like a biriani is 13 give or take

BasinHaircut · 22/02/2017 15:01

Woo hoo lavender!

ali I think 1.5lbs gain on a skiing holiday is quite an achievement considering what I would normally eat and drink!

TheImprobableGirl · 22/02/2017 15:01

Chickpea daal is 5 va Bombay potatoes for 7

alibongo5 · 22/02/2017 15:08

Thanks basin - yeah, I guess so but I didn't even have one of the to-die-for hot chocolates! You know, the ones you have to eat with a spoon! I did have one bombardino and about 18 gallons of beer and wine though, not to mention the platter of olives, monkey nuts, salami, tortilla chips etc which came out with the drinks at 5.30 on the dot every night. Well it would have been rude not to wouldn't it.

Oh and I may have been tempted by the bacon ciabatta on the flight home and my wonderful son had made me a full roast lamb dinner with apple crumble and custard when I got home......

On reflection, now I think more about it, thank god I was skiing all day otherwise I'd have rolled home!

ButterChicken · 22/02/2017 15:44

I thought a Chapati was 6.5 syns?!

LavenderRains · 22/02/2017 16:37

Thanks everyone for the congratulations Smile
ali I would say that's a very good result for the amount of food/drink. Like you say tho, you did a lot of exercise to balance it. Should have said body magic but that makes me cringeGrin
lemony do you enjoy reading? How about a nice new novel to get stuck into? Hope you stop feeling dizzy soonFlowers

alibongo5 · 22/02/2017 16:53

Body magic makes me squirm too - it's fucking exercise!!

MrsWOLF1 · 22/02/2017 16:58

3lbs off today ,so close to 5 and half stone .Our group has grown so big by the time everyone has weighed in , there is about 15 minutes of clapping ,raffle etc and that's it !!

Groovester · 22/02/2017 17:13

Very quick stop by from me. Well done Lav

I weighed myself at my gran's earlier. She has scales. I don't. They say I've put a pound on. Not too surprised but now thinking of ideas to get rid of it before class tomorrow night...
