I know it could have been a lot worse. Pre SW a Saturday night binge would have comprised chicken korma with rice, naan, puppadoms, onion bhaji, and all the dips, an entire bottle of wine, a family size bag of M&Ms and half a bag of toffee popcorn!

So in the grand scheme of things it could be a lot worse!

Today's menu:

B: Fruit, yoghurt, coffee

L: Round my parents so will probably be ham with salady bits & Ryvita minis

D: Roast chicken, veg, SW roasties, gravy and bread sauce (will have to work out syns but don't think it's many)

Usually do a pudding on Sundays but not sure if/what to do. Wondering about baked apples and vanilla quark.

Loulou2kent · 03/04/2016 12:43

Don't suppose anyone knows how many syn's for a packet of these....Confused I have already eaten them so hoping not too bad!!

loulou they're 4 1/2 syns for a 20g bag

Rupeomatic · 03/04/2016 14:52

Thanks for the welcome Smile

My daughter made a roast today so I have been totally honest with myself about how much I had and synned it all. Not too bad - 11.5 syns and some speedy veg. Considering she didn't know I had restarted SW I didn't do too badly.

I just feel so much better being back in control of my eating again!

maygirl · 03/04/2016 15:07

I love baked apples!

Great day doing half marathon .Its amazing the difference just 1 stone off since last time made on the hills and general comfort levels!

Eaten lots but not as much as would usually
B baked oats with raspberries, heB and 2 syns. Alpen light 3s and banana .
2 lucozade sport during race 14 syns! And some sweets 8 syns
About to have homemade pizza with wholemeal base, heA cheese, spinach, peppers, tomatoes and homemade coleslaw .

Hope your DH did well Justamo!

justamo · 03/04/2016 15:41

Well done maygirl I hope you've got your feet up and someone is making pizza for you. Dh is certainly making the most of his recovery! He did OK, was hoping for a pb but it was too warm for that today. I've said that i'm going to do it next year Shock

EmilyK83 · 03/04/2016 16:09

Well done may!

Love finding situations where weight loss makes a massive difference! We went food shopping yesterday and walked instead of driving - I had a load of tins, bottles and stuff in a rucksack for the walk home, dp had cloth bags rammed full of stuff. I was struggling with the rucksack...decided to weigh it when I got home and it was a stone and a half! 3/4 of what I've lost this year so far!! It was bloody heavy too...made me realise just how much excess weight I was carrying around and how hard my body must've had to work just to keep me upright!!

Loulou2kent · 03/04/2016 16:43

Emwithme thank you so much for that! X

Loulou2kent · 03/04/2016 18:20

All Free & really tasty!! Prob not enough S food, but I really struggle with veg & salad so this isn't bad for me! I'm sure I'll get better with my veg

That's plenty of S food by the look of it - the salad and the mushrooms! Looks tasty!

EmilyK83 · 03/04/2016 20:50

Boyfriend cooked tonight - so good! Roast beef, SW roasties, carrots, green beans, Bisto cauliflower cheese (1.5 syns for the whole pack) and I added mustard after I took the pic. Counting 2 syns...

Ooh everyone's food looks lovely.

I've had very hungry day today so eaten a lot!

B-fruit and yogurt
Mug of leek and potato soup
L-Sausage, bacon,egg and mushrooms
D-chicken, new potatoes and corn on the cob
Various fruit and veg

I've had bits of chocolate today I've probably had a few too many syns but will be back on it again tomorrow think I will have an sp day. I did manage to avoid all the party food at a kids party I went to this afternoon.

Loulou2kent · 03/04/2016 21:02

Ohhhh Emily. The roast looks good. That's on my menu for next week now! X

sparkle789 · 03/04/2016 21:22

Hi can I join you all.

I'm joining on Tuesday. I've done Sw before but a long time ago and a bit half arsed. I lost 2 stone last year by myself but have been around the same weight since sept.

I want to lose around 2 stone.

Any advice for a new starter? I struggle with lunches as I usually like sandwiches and crisps.

Loulou2kent · 03/04/2016 21:53

Hey Sparkle! Well done for loosing 2 stone on your own!! I'm sure you'll manage the next two just fine with some of the posts on here for help.

I'm with you for lunches. I really struggle. Are you out at work in the day or you around to make something fresh?

sparkle789 · 03/04/2016 22:00

Hi Lou, I work part time but only one full day at work so I can make fresh, but I have a very lovely toddler so don't have a lot of time.

Loulou2kent · 03/04/2016 22:12

I know that feeling! I tend to over cook so I eat the leftovers from night before for lunch as most my dinners are "free". Pasta with roasted med veg & butternut squash is one of my favs. Or scrambled egg on toast, or beans, or jacket potato. Tomorrow I'm going to cook up some frying steaks in the morning & put them in warburtons thins as a steak sandwich might toast it to make it a bit special.

sparkle789 · 03/04/2016 22:17

I meant lively, although she is lovely too (mostly!)

Good idea about left overs. I think I will do that to start with I'm always better with food if its planned out.

EmilyK83 · 03/04/2016 22:35

Roasts are the way forward Loulou - roasties done in frylight are lush!

Lunches - I normally just have picky bits out the fridge. Chopped radishes/celery/cucumber/carrots etc depending on what I have in. Then normally some sort of ham or chicken slices, maybe a hard boiled egg, or seafood sticks (Young's make smoked salmon seafood sticks which are so much nicer than the normal ones) - sometimes smoked salmon pate (blitz 150g quark with around 80g smoked salmon, plus lemon juice and fresh parsley or dill)...and sometimes my HexA cheese/HexB bread or crackers. I make sure I've got loads of variety in so I can make a plate that I can just graze on!

calzone · 03/04/2016 22:39

B.....coffee
L....calamari and chicken salad
Mullerlight and raspberries
D....SW meatballs and tomato sauce with spaghetti and salad
Big bowl chopped melon, apple and kiwi with vanilla yoghurt
Meringue 2.5

emwithme · 03/04/2016 23:10

I love a proper roast. I do it all the old-fashioned way, roasties in with the meat and gravy made from the juices. I don't count syns exactly on a Sunday roast - but I also try not to have any other syns on a Sunday except on my dinner. I think it works out about 20 syns though (6 - 7.5 for yorkies (depending on brand - the Aunt Bessie ones are 2 each, Waitrose own brand are 2.5 and I have three because I'm a piggie ), then roasties and real gravy make up the rest). I have about half a plate of veggies.

Spent the afternoon chopping veggies (celery, carrot, radish, cucumber, peppers) for lunches for the week - tomorrow I have leaves, mixed veg and left-over roast beef, with some of the mustard-quark dressing that I made to go with the gehaktballen last night (which were delicious cold, as a late-night snack!) and making breakfast muffins (with bacon, celery, onion, mushroom and peppers) so I can just grab-and-go in the morning without using my HEB. I really like having hifi bars in the evening as my chocolatey fix!

Today's food:

Brunch: Bacon, fried eggs, beans, mushrooms, tomato.
Snack: Bits of pepper, celery, cucumber, radish (as I was chopping for the week's lunches)
Dinner: Roast beef, yorkies, roast potatoes, carrots, cabbage, real gravy.

HEA: Milk
HEB: Hifi bars

EmilyK83 · 04/04/2016 08:31

You're so organised, Em!!

It's going to be another SP day for me today, as I seem to feel so much better in myself without potatoes/rice/pasta!

So...

B - scrambled eggs and asparagus, toast

L - beans on toast (other half of first HexB) and a salad

Skinny latte in town later (HexA)

D - stir fried veg and prawns with soy sauce and lemon juice, plus SW crispy seaweed (never made it before, found a kale-based recipe and going to try it!)

Other HexB will be an Alpen light bar when I get home from the pub quiz I'm doing tonight (at which I'll only drink Diet Coke...)

Going to attempt a Scan Bran cake either today or tomorrow - anyone here made a cake with them yet? If so, what did you think? I've heard mixed reports...

scribblegirl · 04/04/2016 08:44

Hi everyone! Can I join? Off to my first SW meeting on Wednesday but trying to semi-adopt the plan before then as I know WI is going to be horrid and I'm on damage limitation mode!

B: Fruit salad (strawbs, Apple and pineapple)
L: not sure yet - might pop out and buy some soup?
D: Baked chicken, red onion, pepper and tomato with fry light and balsamic

I'm off to a pub quiz tonight as well Emily! Going teetotal is a bit scary at the moment - booze and booze related drinking are definitely the source of a lot of calories for me - so I'm going to keep myself to either a couple of white wine spritzers or a couple of single gin and slimlines. I don't have a massively sweet tooth but love a drink so suspect my syns will wind up being used in the pub!

scribblegirl · 04/04/2016 08:45

ahem. I mean 'booze and booze related eating' not drinking! Monday morning...

EmilyK83 · 04/04/2016 08:59

Hi Scribble - good luck for this week...and enjoy the pub quiz tonight! :)

Slimline tonic is free on SW, and gin is 3 syns per 25ml measure (you can have up to 15 syns per day).

Meals for today look good - just bear in mind that a lot of ready-made soups have syns - there are some you can use as your healthy B choice though. Or Iceland do a Slimming World range which includes soups :)
