Starting SW again in the new year (and sticking to it!)....anyone else?

I first started SW in 2013, I loved it from the start. Consultant was fab, loved learning to cook new things, food was great and I wasn't hungry!

By October 2013, I'd lost almost 3 stone, felt brilliant, looked great, was very proud of myself.

By this time, I was finding it difficult to get to meetings, they were at an odd time and quite a drive away so I slipped a bit. Then it all went wrong when we went on holiday at the end of October, once in a lifetime kind of thing and I told myself I wouldn't worry about SW while we were away, I would enjoy myself. Well......I did, and I haven't been able to get back on track since.

So a year later I have gained most of the weight back (haven't weighed myself, too scared but fitting back into my stretchy size 16 jeans) and I feel like crap! Tired, spotty and I just can't be arsed!

I felt great from having a much better diet and although it took me a while to realise it!

So....I have found a much closer group that starts at 9.30 on a Tuesday morning, I will be able to get there after I drop DD off to pre-school and stay till the end of the meeting.

I have eaten so much crap at Christmas I am actually craving something healthy and looking forward to something green!

The hurdles for me....

Cost - We are a very low income and I will struggle to afford the meetings every week, but I am willing to give up whatever to ensure I stay motivated. We have had an especially crappy diet in recent months due to money shortages (eating the cheapest of the cheap) so shopping will cost more. I will work this out somehow

New group - I'm shy and not looking forward to a new group but will just have to bite the bullet...I did it before and I'll do it again! I also loved my old consultant and the group was a laugh, hope this one is as nice.

Portion control - I'm greedy, and that's it really. I need to get a grip.

Unsupportive DH - Was talking this through with him and he said he was so glad when I stopped SW, the food was bland, tasteless etc etc. I generally cook the same thing for all of us. Left to his own devices, he would live on burgers and anything that comes from Iceland. If it's not frozen and doesn't have sauce then its not food Hmm

Time - I did soooo much cooking when I was doing SW and it was hard to fit it in. I need to be less lazy, batch cook and freeze etc etc

On the upside...DD will eat pretty much everything and my mum and nan are very supportive.

It's my birthday in June and I want to go somewhere nice, looking nice and feeling great...not like this year!

Tuesday 6th January will be the start of me feeling better!!!!! Grin

Cookie chin up love keep going. If you tend to come in and snack can you have stuff chopped up ready to munch on like carrots, cucumber etc ?

annielostit · 08/02/2015 16:29

Oh cookie, stress is shite. Can you do a bit of prep so when you get in there's nice food ready? What about a syn box? Fill it with your daily syn items, say a freddo, pack skips and some fruit then attack that when your against it. Then have hour sw tea.
I find the prep thing works so if I'm starving there's chicken legs or crab sticks or chopped fruit & yogurt.
Might this help?

*have your sw tea, auto correct!!!!!

CookieMonster101 · 11/02/2015 06:11

Thanks Annie I've been trying those tips. It worked some days, not so well on others.
Next week is half term and I will do some batch cooking to make my life easier. Weigh in tomorrow so we'll see whether it worked.

thatstoast · 12/02/2015 17:17

Having an awful week, weighing in tomorrow as I couldn't go yesterday. Will come back to report then.r

I actually lost half a lb. Really not sure how that's happened.

sugarsinner · 25/02/2015 21:12

12lb down now! Really pleased. Cutting down on the carbs on my plate and replacing with speed foods has helped a lot .

annielostit · 26/02/2015 13:24

Good effort sugar. I'm reducing pasta & old potatoes this week. I think it hinders my losses too. I was 7lb down but went away on a long weekend. Only 3.5 now but back on it.
Being a good girl and did 5 miles at the gym today. Its only walking but its a good hour.
Does anyone else walk, run or something?
