Hi everyone, beginning sw tomorrow from home. Tried going to group a few years ago and didn't like it! Thought I'd say 'Hi' Smile

OP posts:
DameEdnasBridesmaid · 26/04/2014 17:57

Count me in please. I joined on Thursday. Got fruit coming out of my ears already!

Never done SW before, feels like I'm doing it wrong but we shall see Smile

EustaciaVye · 27/04/2014 12:01

We have guests coming today and are serving Roast dinner. I am going to pile the veg high and try not to gorge on roast potatoes. Find it difficult to say no to pudding though so will just have fruit for tea and hope for the best. I am finding this hard tbh. A friend has lost 5 lb in her first week which is great but I am a bit envious.
I have ordered an extra easy cook book off eBay so hopefully that will help.

onedev · 27/04/2014 17:04

Just make sure you eat plenty Eustacia - keep healthy on plan snacks available & remember the bigger picture!

A roast dinner is actually a v good one to have - boiled potatoes, lean meat & plenty of super free veg is perfect. Like you say, go easy on roast potatoes & count the syns for the ones you do have (& also for any gravy / sauces etc you use). I'm not a massive dessert person so tend to have a muller light yoghurt for dessert but there are some great recipes online too that you could maybe try.

You can do it!

EustaciaVye · 27/04/2014 17:52

I managed about 8 syns with the Roast dinner which I was quite pleased about.....then I blew it with a lemon roulade and cream which was probably about 15 syns on its own. So, I will go for a syn free day tomorrow to make up for it. Should be easier as I am working so won't snack.

onedev · 27/04/2014 18:07

Perfect - just stay in control, which is what you have done & stay on plan through the week & you'll see a loss for definite.

EustaciaVye · 27/04/2014 18:10

Thanks onedev. I am going on holiday in 4 weeks so would be very pleased to lose 7 lb by then. Do you think that is too optimistic? I am hovering just over 11 stone but at 5 ft 1 that is too heavy by far.

Titsalinabumsquash · 27/04/2014 18:25

I'm loving being back, DP is struggling with the chocolate cravings a bit more than me.

I've eaten loads! Mostly fruit. We had Fish and Chips and Mushy Peas from the Fakeaways book. Smile

EustaciaVye · 27/04/2014 20:13

The fake aways book sounds good. Are the recipes easy?

DameEdnasBridesmaid · 27/04/2014 21:39

Eustasia very similar to me, I am just under under 11st and same height. Joined on Thursday last - and going on jollies 9 weeks!

Blowing the syns on wine tonight - but have been to gym just sat in jacuzzi and sauna

onedev · 27/04/2014 21:52

If you can stick to plan Eustacia, you'll easily do 7lb in 4 weeks.

EustaciaVye · 28/04/2014 11:54

Thanks guys.

Banana for breakfast and plan to have a mugshot for lunch.

Titsalinabumsquash · 28/04/2014 12:08

I've found them easy enough, they have pizzas a, curries, kebabs, burgers and Indian and Chinese food. It's all simple to do and there isn't anything that needs 100's of ingredients.

Chilli con carne for us tonight with rice. I've had a prawn salad for lunch.

I think 7lbs will be easy to do in 4 weeks :)

I have calculated that there is 34 weeks until Christmas, if it an average a 2lb loss a week (factoring in some weeks will be more some less) then I could be approaching target come Christmas :)

Titsalinabumsquash · 28/04/2014 12:11

I'm 5'1 and I am currently 11.6 st Smile

EustaciaVye · 28/04/2014 12:17

Looks like we are all a similar weight/height

EustaciaVye · 28/04/2014 13:34

Pasta Mug Shot and an apple for lunch.

Healthy extra A is the milk in my many cups of tea.

Do you have to use both Healthy extras each day? or are they optional?

annielostit · 28/04/2014 14:38

Healthy extras are for calcium (a) and fibre(b) they say you should have them.

I'm going to be a newbie from today. Sw since last summer lost 12lb, but am 5'7/size 14/16. I just come off holiday and have put 4lb on. Going again in 12 weeks and would like to be 10lb down.
Totally cofussed with food at the moment. Do you all go to group and how are you getting along?

Titsalinabumsquash · 28/04/2014 17:21

I go to group just toe weighed and then I usually leave after a brief chat with the consultant. I have to take Ds3 with me and he is a bit mischievous otherwise I would stay. I need that weekly weigh in by a someone who isn't me to keep me going, otherwise I cheat and tell myself it doesn't matter because no one will know Blush

I have been before and lost 3 stone easily, I only started this time last week, I'm finding it fairly easy but that's because my downfall was binge eating one day then eating noting for 2 days before doing it all again, so now I'm making sure I eat 3 meals a day and any snacks are fruit.

I'm finding doing EE helpful, it wasn't around last time I did it and using just Red and Green a made it harder to feed us all as a family, now the kids can have what the adults are having and I know they're still getting a balanced meal.

EustaciaVye · 28/04/2014 20:53

I don't go to a group. Started 2 weeks ago online.

Just had steak, salad and a few oven chips (4.5syns) for dinner. So apart from missing HEb today I have done well.

onedev · 28/04/2014 20:56

Well done. I've been on plan today but out with work tomorrow night - set menu but no idea what it is. Hopefully it won't be too bad!

annielostit · 29/04/2014 07:02

Well done all for keeping on track yesterday.I did get by with just 1 mini roll and not over thinking the food.
I'm thinking about going back to group. I haven't been for 5 weeks, personality difference with consultant and don't feel inspired by her even though I do better weighing in every week. have another good one.?

DameEdnasBridesmaid · 29/04/2014 07:18

For me it's the planning that makes all the difference. I find I can stick to it relatively easily if every meal and snacks are planned (especially the snacks). That said - I still over syn on the wine!

Only been going 5 days though Smile will be gutted if I haven't lost on Thursday.

annielostit · 30/04/2014 11:34

Good luck for your weigh in. I go over on wine, no biscuit/sweet fix yesterday but half a bottle and a bag of crisps.?? after a lovely sw chicken Kiev, what a guts.

Titsalinabumsquash · 30/04/2014 13:39

Weigh in for me in the morning I'm both terrified and slightly excited Blush

I have stuck 100% to plan and I'm really enjoying it so far (this is likely to stop when I want to gorge of Magnums come summer)

Good luck for all those weighing in this week. Thanks

MoreSkyThanWeNeed · 30/04/2014 13:50

Can I join you all? I've just restarted SW at home on my own so would love to have someone to chat to about it except the baby
First week = -3lbs
Very pleased as I didn't stick very rigidly to my syns.
Good luck people!

Misfitless · 30/04/2014 17:17

Disastrous week here. Just can't get my head in the right place. Hope you're all doing better. Well done on the losses!
