Hope everyone finds the new thread 😂 and new chatterboxes are welcome to join us and battle through the night feeds together (with or without the assistance of EBLL [Ewan's back left leg!) 🐏

Well that'll teach me.
I forgot to do the 3am feed nappy change and so just had to do a full clothes and sleeping bag change just now as he had wet through, poor mite.

Feed #3

GingerHanna · 30/11/2017 05:53

Yeah, I thought about that @HashtagTired but it says to work on adjusted age in which case he’s not even two weeks old.

He had a long stretch for the first part of the evening as DS gave him his late feed so I’m pretty sure it’s all to do with the change from bottle to boob and therefore he tile and effort to do so (he’s still a very sleepy baby so falls asleep on the boob an awful lot).

Did get my Wonder Weeks book yesterday so starting to read that now.

HashtagTired · 30/11/2017 05:54

Does anyone else's little one, when bf, sometimes stop and press their gums slowly together on the nipple?!

Ds does this to me occasionally and he looks up at me as if to say 'let me know when it hurts". He doesn't do it for long, just a few seconds but it can hurt!

Jellybean2017 · 30/11/2017 06:36

So I attempted a full night co sleeping as I was so knackered. I have such a sore neck and back. Also woke DS more than once as I was trying to get comfortable. So although I didn't have to keep sitting up to feed, it wasnt entirely successful and I'm not sure I got much extra sleep really. Just meant I couldn't mn while feeding 🙈 lots to catch up on!

Looks like some tough nights. @Whoateallthepercypigs hope you managed to get some sleep. I mix fed for a week or so at about 6 weeks as was finding bf really difficult/painful. But have gone back to ebf now and it's much better at 16 weeks. Now he refuses a bottle 🙈 you just have to do what's best for you, better for baby to have a happy, rested mummy than anything else. Flowers

@hashtagtired mine doesn't do gum thing but has an annoying habit of pulling on and off and looking up at me, seemingly to check for a reaction! Little rascal.

I got a few nice cheap feeding tops from new look online which are pretty discreet. I have fed quite a few times in public now. Still feel self conscious especially when DS is thrashing about or pulling on and off. It's like he is determined to reveal my boob to everyone 🙈

@HashtagTired yes! Ds also does something fellow mn'ers call ' nipple catapulting' so grabbing it, stretching it as far as it will go (like inches) then letting go with a dramatic 'smack' sound.....oh the glamour.

Btw if people wonder why i worry about bf in public 20% of the reason is ds table manners 😑

HashtagTired · 30/11/2017 07:03

I did the same @Jellybean2017 a couple of weeks ago. So stiff from sitting up feeding and so tired from constant feeding that I decided to cosleep and feed lying down. I don't think I was any better for it.

HashtagTired · 30/11/2017 07:05

Oh @Jellybabie3 yes.

And that reminds me of a glamorous incident yesterday which made me 🙄
As I was getting out of the shower I slipped a little and my boobs kinda smacked together and clapped 😱

Lallypopstick · 30/11/2017 07:15

Laura Whitmore (TV presenter) posted this picture a few weeks ago and it very much sums up breastfeeding for me.

The Instagram link didnt work for me @Lallypopstick

Lallypopstick · 30/11/2017 07:57

Weird Jellybabie3 it worked for me. If you’re on Instagram, search for “the whitmore” and go down 7 rows. You’re looking for a monkey.

Your cartoon made me laugh. Anyone else feel enormous guilt for their teenage years now they know what their mother went through?!

NinaMarieP · 30/11/2017 08:12

Wasn't a bad night over all but I am feeling really rough as I have come down with a cold and sore throat combo.

Currently lying in bed eating Tesco's own choc chip cookies for energy while my LO is in his gym, but he's not too happy there. I may have to summon some energy to pick him up again.

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 30/11/2017 09:02

crawls in, looks round for coffee

Thanks for your kind words @hashtag and @jellybean. DS went to sleep from 4 till 6 then did another 2 hours on me. So got a bit of sleep. Sorry for my milking meltdown, just reached my limit! That monkey picture made me laugh and cry...

Omg nipple catapulting sounds like some weird S&M thing! Ouch!

Did way too much yesterday so today will be about taking it easy. It's snowed outside so looking very pretty DD is insanely excited!

HashtagTired · 30/11/2017 09:06

I'm out of cookies 😔

Stollen for breakfast, it is! 😊

AMagdalena · 30/11/2017 09:06

We co-slept all night as the little sod would wake instantly every time I put her down in her cot Hmm

She's also gone on a nursing strike in mornings/early afternoons which is really upsetting Sad I think it's reflux-related and every day time feed is a challenge now. Hope it passes soon Sad

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 30/11/2017 09:18

Nooo @hashtag you've raised the baked good goals with your talk of stollen! May have to send DH on a stolen mission to Aldi...

I have one cookie left for emergencies. Currently feeding DS and dying for my breakfast, I'd love to have the sort of husband who doesn't need to be asked to bring me a breakfast tray and hot coffee...

GimbleInTheWabe · 30/11/2017 09:19

DS does nipple catapulting! Usually when he's finished feeding he'll pull it as far as it will go and then fling off the end. It's always nice to see a part of your body stretched to it physical limit in front of you kinda reminds me of birth.

Not such a great night here either, up every 2/3 hours as well despite him being awake for so long yesterday daytime. Asked DP to have him on his chest this morning so I could get s good 30 mins before I woke up but do had him flat which didn't alleviate his congestion so he continued to thrash about so somehow I now have him on my chest and DP is asleep

Jealous of the snow @WhoAteAllthePercyPigs! We just get grey slush in London Sad

theotherendofthesockportal · 30/11/2017 09:47

@GingerHanna, my copy of the Wonder Weeks arrived yesterday too! I'm hoping it will revolutionise my understanding of DD.

@HashtagTired you have made me feel less guilty about having a snickers for breakfast. I do normally eat weetabix about 2 hours after I've put in the bowl as inevitably get caught up in looking after DD or putting the washing on.

DD is currently doing milky burps in my face.

actino · 30/11/2017 09:53

I've got a nipple catapulter as well! She also sometimes forgets till breathe so pops of the boob with a big gasp, it's super cute. Kinda remind me of this:

HashtagTired · 30/11/2017 09:59

That made me lol @actino!

HashtagTired · 30/11/2017 10:00

So Christmas magic has started in this house. Decorations out ready to put up after I pick up dd from school today. Advent calendars ready to go. It's going to be a big year this year. Last year was a test run for dd but she's 5 now and so this year is a big year!

Jellybean2017 · 30/11/2017 10:13

Loving the videos/cartoons 😂
I have the wonder weeks app, is the book worth a read? 😊
Mmm stollen!! I have eaten half a packet of bourbon biscuits 😶 got up for a shower and changed/dressed DS. Now he is sleepy again and it's freezing outside so we are snuggled up feeding and I have stuck the TV on. Secretly hoping he will take a long nap so I can chill out for a while with my biscuits. Just wish DH was home to bring me a cuppa 😂

@hashtagtired Christmas with a five year old will be awesome! Bet she is so excited! 😊

Jellybean2017 · 30/11/2017 10:17

@AMagdalena will she not feed at all during those times?
