I’m nervous about buying Christmas outfits just yet. DS has already grown out of his size 44’s and now moving out of his 50’s - wondering how long he will stay in 56’s?!?! Think it should be through Christmas but now nervous.

AMagdalena · 29/11/2017 14:22

I bought my DD a tartan dress (in pic) and a Christmas pudding hat. Couldn't resist Smile

@WhoAteAllthePercyPigs was the a pudding onesie from Tu?
I haven't been to a supermarket in a while because we get it delivered.

HashtagTired · 29/11/2017 14:24

Oooh. I got dd a tartan top from Next for dd.

HashtagTired · 29/11/2017 14:25

And I had a Bens cookie 🍪 for breakfast. It was white chocolate and cranberry I think. Only one left - double choc chunk.

AMagdalena · 29/11/2017 14:50

I am starving and there is no food in the house until shopping gets delivered later (only have stuff in for tea) 😣
And pot noodle contains milk, so that's that probably for the best 😭

DD let me put her down for a nap and I wasn't exactly gentle...
I keep trying to spots signs of my dairy free diet working. Been dairy free for 3 days and DD has hardly spat up at all, fewers tears at poo time and now this. Probably too early to see any results, but something is changing.

Jellybabie3 · 29/11/2017 15:01

I went to starbucks today and gorged on a cranberry cheesecake muffin and toffee nut latte.😋 thanks @HashtagTired for making me ravenous since the early hours orders new jeggings in next size up

GimbleInTheWabe · 29/11/2017 17:13

Yes @anotherexhaustedpigeon it's the calma One. I think it may have just been the extra work like you said as after a bit of persistence DS remembered how to suckle away. He's going through such a cluster feeding phase atm.

I have a little father xmas costume for DS. When we get our tree I'm going to take a picture of him in the costume by the tree and get it made In to Xmas/thank you cards. Is that a bit sad?! Feel like I'm turning in to my mother! She always did an xmas newsletter Blush

HashtagTired · 29/11/2017 18:07

Christmas newsletter 😂
Sounds ridiculous but so useful and efficient!!

HashtagTired · 29/11/2017 18:08

Sorry about all the sugar consumption today. We all deserved it, though!!

Jellybabie3 · 29/11/2017 18:17

Hmm i haven't brought ds a costume. But i do havr 2 sets of pjs and 3 Christmas jumpers Blush

Somehow i feel bad for not dressing him as a pudding

Jellybabie3 · 29/11/2017 18:17

I'm still hungry Confused trying to lose weight after months of not giving a hoot sucks

Jellybabie3 · 29/11/2017 19:14

I'm off out for the day with my parents this weekend. What do you do about bf in front of dad's? Use a cover? Or just a nursing top

AMagdalena · 29/11/2017 19:20

DH HAS BOUGHT ME A DAIRY FREE POT NOODLE 😂
Who says romance is dead?! 😂

AMagdalena · 29/11/2017 19:21

Jellie I get my boob out in front of FIL. No cover needed.

AMagdalena · 29/11/2017 19:24

That sounds a bit wrong, but anyway

Jellybabie3 · 29/11/2017 19:25

@AMagdalena wow thats love 😊😋

So hungry. What is wrong with me. Like I'm preggers again 😬

WhoAteAllthePercyPigs · 29/11/2017 19:40

Christmas letter - my mum still does that! Her and her friends all exchange them every year, it's basically an exercise in boasting 'look my family has had a much better year than yours' Grin

We got a pic of DD as an elf and made cards to send out! This time we're just doing regular thank you cards #secondchildsyndrome

Christmas pudding onesie is from Mothercare. They have so much adorable stuff! Had to restrain myself...

I need advice 're dummies! Tonight, after a full afternoon of cluster feeding and nipples in agony, I succumbed and tried the dummy with DS. He took to it very well, meant I could put him in his bouncy chair and eat my dinner without having to jiggle/feed him at the same time. But I feel guilty! How often are you meant to give a dummy? Will it stop him from feeding?

HashtagTired · 29/11/2017 19:55

I cover @Jellybabie3 but I'd do that for anyone, except dh when it's just us at home.

Dairy free pot noodle. Who knew?!

No advice about dummies. Dd would never take one and haven't got to that stage with ds yet. He's currently sucking his hand and fingers.

HashtagTired · 29/11/2017 19:57

I'm a little nervous about tonight. We had such s good night last night that I know tonight will be shit. That's the way the cookie crumbles. But not a Bens cookie; they don't crumble because they are just so gooey and like little cakes. I really need to stop thinking about them. Must. Stop.

Jellybabie3 · 29/11/2017 20:23

@HashtagTired 😂 i need one of those cookies

Hmm ok thank you re: cover. Do you use a designated one or a muslin? Your ds doesnt mind feeding underneath? I should practice really

Ds slept in 2x 4hour stints last night so i am curious how tonight will be. We had baby massage today and hes currently zonked on me. I should be sleeping but with all this talk about food I've just drank hot choc and eaten half a battenburg Blush

GimbleInTheWabe · 29/11/2017 20:40

I'm pretty 'boob out wherever' tbh and haven't felt the need to cover but I'd say if you are going to use a light muslin, otherwise your LO might get a bit hot under there. I can't imagine they'd mind feeding under one though, as long as they get boob ha.

Has anyone else's LO got a gunky eye? DS has had one since birth really but it's got so much worse the last few days with lots of green stuff. It doesn't seem to bother him and the eye isn't bloodshot but it looks so sore and is a bit swollen poor thing.

sleepycat13 · 29/11/2017 20:56

@GimbleInTheWabe ds has had a gunky eye since birth too. now 8 weeks. some days it's better other days it looks really bad again. he doesn't seem bothered either. health visitor said to use breast milk in it to help clear it up. first time I did this I did it straight from the boob and got more on his face than in his eye!! poor lad!

NinaMarieP · 29/11/2017 20:58

We introduced a dummy at 4 weeks, @WhoAteAllthePercyPigs.

He gets it when he needs a nap and hasn't fed to sleep, or if he is particularly grumpy, like when he had just been put in his car seat. He loves it, but if he is hungry he will spit it out and keep on crying for actual food.

NinaMarieP · 29/11/2017 21:02

We had a gunky eye from birth too. It came and went from around 12 weeks and now it seems to be totally cleared up at 16 weeks. Think it was a blocked tear duct as it was always worse when he had been crying.

I'm also a 'just haul a boob out' type of feeder. I see other people doing it super discretely so you can hardly tell they're doing it and then there's me with a whole boob out cause I can't work out how to do it any other way 😂. I need to be able to see what I'm doing to help him latch on still (and back on and back on ad nauseam).
