Have been completely unsuccessful re the nap front today. DS barely had 20 mins early. Now he's fed again and we have entered the phase of 'please go to sleep before your next feed is due' - why oh why won't they sleep. If only they realise she how great sleep is!

Ven83 · 17/11/2017 13:13

@Toonewtobehaving2 I really feel for you, days like that are so disheartening. Hang in there, things change so quickly, you just have to push through this annoying bit.

I found out Ewan’s left leg, the womb sounds are a trigger for both DH and me - I had a traumatic labour and delivery, and have been hooked to the CTG for hours. Hearing that sound makes us both really nervous. So that’s out of the tool box :(

Jellybabie3 · 17/11/2017 16:14

Hope your all OK. Its getting dark and its bloody freezing. Almost time to contemplate the night shift makes mental note to charge ewans batteries

Its been a lovely day here. Went for coffee and cake after a nice walk with Mum followed by some lunch. DS has been curled up asleep on me since about 2pm which is just what I needed as hes keeping me warm! Watched a whole season of modern family with drinks and snacks. DH is now on his way home so I will have an extra set of hands atleast for 2 days.

Perfect as I think I am getting a cold. Fx I am just a little worn out.

Hope you got some rest to those that needed it. If not I am sure there will be plenty of hands to hold this eve as usual Smile

Jellybean2017 · 17/11/2017 16:30

Ahh thanks Jellybabie3.

Once again DS fell asleep halfway through his baby class! I would love to know what he finds so sleep inducing! Annoying he sleeps during an activity I have paid for 😂 have managed to get another nap out of him. It will be interesting to see if this has a positive effect on tonight's sleep...

I'm glad it's the weekend too. Think DH is exhausted though so will let him off tonight!

GingerHanna · 17/11/2017 18:07

So first trip out was a success. Too successful perhaps as he slept solidly from the moment we left the house until we got home five hours later! Did manage to rouse him for a couple of shortish feeds so hoping he won’t be too wakeful and hungry tonight. Yeah right... I’m screwed!

Lallypopstick · 17/11/2017 18:22

5 hours! I think I would have been mad that I couldn’t have napped in that time!

Jellybean2017 · 17/11/2017 18:33

See you back here later Gingerhanna 🙈

AMagdalena · 17/11/2017 18:46

OMG DD is actually having some expressed milk out of a bottle and no tears!
I could cry though! Might be able to go out on my own Shock

AMagdalena · 17/11/2017 18:47

And 5 hours! @GingerHanna You so should have been asleep then!

Jellybabie3 · 17/11/2017 19:24

Thats so sods law.

I brought a breast feeding cover today so am good to go for my xmas shopping. Fx for GP sign off next week. Its been a long 6 weeks Smile

GingerHanna · 17/11/2017 19:26

I know! He has never gone five hours before! No where near. Little fecker.

HashtagTired · 17/11/2017 19:47

Here we go again! Roll on the night shift. Hope everyone has a good night!
I’m hoping that the swimming earlier today will mean that he sleeps well tonight, rather than be overtired. I’ll soon find out.

Got my first personal trainer session at the gym tomorrow morning. A little nervous 😬

No doubt I’ll be back here in 4-5 hours

And so the night shift starts...

DH is off to football tomorrow which means I will be on my own with DD till 6pm (he's at work beforehand)...

Jellybean2017 · 17/11/2017 20:39

Good luck everyone, we can do this! 😂

Jellybabie3 · 17/11/2017 21:35

Ds has fallen asleep so I'm gonna have a go at putting him down and getting some rest. No doubt in my mind i will be back before midnight

Lallypopstick · 17/11/2017 21:54

We’ve got a sleep fighter on our hands tonight. Don’t you realise how lovely sleep is little baby?!

Jellybean2017 · 17/11/2017 22:03

Ours is fighting it too. DH and I both shattered. Please let this be a good night for everyone 🙌

theotherendofthesockportal · 17/11/2017 22:40

I am really unsure how to tonight will pan out for us. We had a meal out to celebrate my mum’s birthday, DD snoozed through the evening from 5.30 -9.30. She had a big 5oz feed, the requested a 2oz top up since we have been back.

She is in her crib with Ewan, DH has insisted on being put on playing the harp leg. Apparent the other legs give him a headache HmmDD is grumbling a bit.

I’m also wondering if I feed DD too much, is 7oz over 1 hour too much? Even if she asks for it?

GimbleInTheWabe · 17/11/2017 23:24

Clocking in for the night shift too.
DS has been sleeping all day from about 2ish until 7ish on and off with a couple of feeds thrown in. Really hoping I get another 5 hr stretch like the other night but I think last night qualified as a good night so tonight is obviously going to be a bad night.

On the plus side we had loads more lovely smiles this evening. It seems that me swishing my hair in front of him is the best thing in the world ever and he kept smiling when I did it except when we tried to get a photo and he’d stop.

TheLegendOfBeans · 17/11/2017 23:31

DH on duty tonight, can hear DS massively kicking off already. Long night for all ahead methinks x

HashtagTired · 17/11/2017 23:39

Feed #1
Doing this lying down tonight. My back is too stiff to sit up. Fresh sheets tonight. Love that fresh sheet feeling!

Jellybabie3 · 17/11/2017 23:41

We're up so i was right. Sigh.

GingerHanna · 18/11/2017 00:51

Feed #2 in full flow. DH did feed #1 but as usual didn’t record it in the app so I wasn’t sure on exact timings.

DS started grumbling at 01:00 but I guessed it was a 23:00 feed so trying against all reason to stretch out to his next feed. Why do I torment myself so?

Jellybean2017 · 18/11/2017 01:14

Feed #1 here. He finally went to sleep at about 10.30 after about half an hour of sucking my thumb Hmm

When does teething usually start?

HashtagTired · 18/11/2017 01:14

Feed #2 🙄
1h 45.....
