It's always fun to see if you can spot another MNer on the slopes Wink

Claviere for half term! Only second time skiing in Europe ! So excited ! Just need to keep up with ds 9 who whizzes past me on the blacks as I struggle on the blues!

IwishIwasmoresparkly · 19/12/2011 22:12

Off to Morzine in the morning Xmas Grin

It's not a skiing holiday, it's a family Christmas holiday funded by with the IL's, but the skis are packed!!

snowmummy · 21/12/2011 12:54

Iwish, have a lovely family holiday Wink. Where are you staying?

LemonEmmaP · 21/12/2011 14:49

We're off to Les Gets on Friday - can't wait! The snow has finally arrived and it is looking good. Xmas Smile

snowmummy · 22/12/2011 00:38

It started to arrive a week or so ago! If you're stayin gin Les Gets, be sure to check out Mont Chery :)

LemonEmmaP · 22/12/2011 16:24

That's good to hear snowmummy! We're in a chalet in Les Gets, and from the description I think we're on the Mont Chery side - I fully intend going there, although we'll have two 5 year olds in ski school on the Chavannes side, and a couple of second weeker children with us in the afternoons. But I'm hoping to spend at least one morning on Mont Chery! This time tomorrow, we should be there Xmas Grin

Ungratefulchild · 22/12/2011 22:56

Mont Chery is really close. I love Les Gets and Mont Chery is my favourite bit :)

DaisyFitz · 28/12/2011 17:26

Obergurgl with Esprit at End Feb all being well. Sadly, the in-laws are coming too... not entirely needed since we're going with Esprit, but so hard to find a company that do Chalets or Chalet Hotels, in Austria (for nice toilets), with en suite bathrooms, not too far from slopes, have kids mini ski lessons (3yo child), oh, and doesn't cost £1200 per person. :)

We went with Ski Total, Esprits (almost Adults only branch) and they were awesome. And we've been or Obergurgl before - only I was 6m preg at the time.

V excited.

HarrogateMum · 28/12/2011 17:32

Ardent also on 21st January! IwishIwasmoresparkly - are you going with Family Ski?

OneLieIn · 28/12/2011 21:21

St Anton with Esprit, 5th Feb can't wait. Not even the headmaster at school and his unauthorised leave look will make me stop smiling Grin

LemonEmmaP · 29/12/2011 16:22

Just a quick report from Les Gets, we've had a fabulous week, snow is good but could do with an extra layer. Yesterday was pretty warm so it went quite slushy but we had a bit more snow this morning and it's much colder again. Anyway, hope you all have wonderful skiing holidays, that's it for us until the 2012/13 season!

UniS · 30/12/2011 20:06

Flaine- first week of feb.

Reesie · 31/12/2011 12:46

Chamonix for 2 weeks in March. Going with dh and dd1 who is 5, dd2 who will be nearly 3 and our new ds who will be 4 months. My parents are coming for part of the holiday and mum said she will sit at bottom of piste with ds so I can bf him between runs! At the moment he feeds every hour! Just posted a thread about whether we should drive down there with all the children...

juneau · 31/12/2011 12:50

Les Gets in March. It will be my first time skiing in five long years!

Marlinspike · 31/12/2011 12:57

Font Romeu - Pyrenees. Small resort, but with lots of other fab resorts (Les Angles, Puigmal, Formigueres, Cambre D'Aze) within 20 mins drive. Cheaper than the Alps as well! Going half term week in Feb (luckily French half term is a different week, so should be nice and quiet)

TheGoddessBlossom · 01/01/2012 11:34

Just back from a week in La Plagne, fantastic snow and 1st 3 days were wall to wall sunshine. We had a great time. Now scouring internet for a week in Feb (not half term). Les Gets sounds interesting......

IwishIwasmoresparkly · 02/01/2012 21:13

Snowmummy We stayed with Alpine Action in Chalet Lucioles which was brilliant, so close to Pleney that ds's (6 and 3) didn't moan about walking in their ski boots Grin

HarrogateMum - Yes we are - our 3rd year in a row and we can't wait Grin. Will you be there too?

IwishIwasmoresparkly · 02/01/2012 21:47

No we didn't Snowmummy! We stayed with Alpine Adventure Blush

ItsSnowDarling · 02/01/2012 22:29

Champoluc, Italy in March - fantastically good and quiet resort for the children, this will be our third year with the fabulous Ski2 team!

I love Banff etc, but we won't go back until our youngest is a competent skier, so that'll be another 4 years or so!

HarrogateMum · 03/01/2012 11:13

Sparkly - yes we go on 21st Jan with Family Ski, we are in two chalets, my family is in Chalet Cosy and the rest of our party is in a bigger one, can't remember name! We are a group of 14 in total and there wasn't a chalet the right size for us. Never been with Family Ski before, we went with Ski Famille to Les Gets last year and loved it. Are F Ski good? I am nervous as I am a rubbish skier and Les Gets was perfect for me with some lovely blues to do, not sure it will be the same in Ardent!

TheGoddessBlossom · 03/01/2012 13:03

Can I have any views on whether we should go to Alpe d'huez in late feb or tignes in early march? Price is the same. We are one intenediate skier, one competent boarder, and 2 beginner children, 5 & 7. We will be self catering. Tignes apartment is ski in ski out, but have heard alpe d'huez is better for littlies....

IwishIwasmoresparkly · 03/01/2012 20:15

Ha! We did the same last year with one family in Cosy and the rest of us in Grolets (but they came down to eat with us most nights and their host babysat). This year we're a bit smaller so we all fit in Grolets.

How old are your children? Ours are 6 and 3 so will both be skiing this year. The staff in the childcare team have been excellent both times that we've been with FSki, as have the chalet staff - top notch food with plenty of wine to wash it down!

There is a huge variety of skiing easily accessible from Ardent so don't worry about that. My fitness is rock bottom atm so I can see lots of vin chaud stops with early finishes for a hot tub!

We should have a secret code to identify each other with!!

tiredemma · 03/01/2012 20:16

Morzine on Jan 26th.

Cant wait!!

PatriciaHolm · 03/01/2012 22:26

Just booked flights for another week in St Foy at Easter. Hope the snow sticks around!

HarrogateMum · 04/01/2012 09:07
