Hello, fashionistas.

Stella McCartney and Gap would like to invite 50 Mumsnetters (with or without their children) to attend the Stella McCartney for Gap launch on Monday 2nd November between 5.30pm and 7pm at the Gap Brompton Road store, Knightsbridge, London.

Here's what the guys at Gap say: "As you may know, Gap will be debuting the first ever collection of Stella McCartney for GapKids and babyGap. Launching in stores on 3rd November 2009, Stella McCartney has created a collection for boys and girls from 0-6 months to 12 years. The collection features her signature touches ? a soft colour palette, familiar silhouettes and her unique mix of unexpected pieces, creating looks that stay true to Stella?s unique vision, reinterpreted with GapKids? playful, child-like charm, keeping fun and practicality at the forefront of the design intent."

Stella herself has specifically suggested that Mumsnet members are invited to the preview event, as she is a fan of the site!

Guests will enjoy a tea party and children will be able to take part in a range of craft activities incorporating motifs from the campaign and will also receive a branded gift bag and balloon at the end of the event.

There is disabled access to the store. Baby changing facilities will be available.

If you'd like to come, please fill in this form.

Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. So, if you haven't heard by 1 November, we're sorry but you haven't been selected.

I emailed back and said I was bringing DH.

ImSoNotTelling · 30/10/2009 13:34

Well they have emailed me back and told me I'm not allowed to bring anyone

steaknifethroughtheheart · 30/10/2009 14:17

I can't go after all. So I have contacted MN to let them know to pass my place on to whoever is top of the reserve list or next out of the hat or however they decide.

Hope you all have a lovely time.

AnnieOneForTennis · 30/10/2009 15:55

I'm going. No kids, just me! Yaay.

NormaBatesFeltcher · 30/10/2009 21:43

I am still going, me and DS 10y and DD 3y

Can't wait.

Still stressing over what one should wear to this kind of thing?

Help?

JesusChristOtterStar · 30/10/2009 21:44

mumsnet can you ever do something in the north?

its not grim here you know

hobbgoblin · 30/10/2009 23:58

I'm going but can't remember which children of my 4 i volunteered. defo the baby but not sure which other...how do i find out? or shall i just take them all?

If i did that i'd have to have another adult and it seems that despite the email that might not be possible afterall?

anyone else going into kings cross?

ImSoNotTelling · 31/10/2009 09:11

I think you put all of the children on the form? I only have 2 though so don't know.

I am going to bring someone to help me on the tube and they're going to go and swan around harrods while I look nervous in a corner schmooze.

As for clothes - I haven't got any decent ones as I was waiting til I shink a bit more - baby is only 4mo. So I will be looking a fright in a corner

Horton · 31/10/2009 09:26

I have no decent clothes and am newly pregnant and bloated in the stomach area so none of my normal trousers fit. So rest assured, whatever you are wearing you will look better than I do!!

Probably wearing either jeans or a denim smock dress thing and leggings/boots. Will try to remember to put earrings on and do makeup but may well fail as suffering from severe pregnancy brain.

ImSoNotTelling · 31/10/2009 10:18

I reckon Stella and co are going to put us in a screened off area

Then just select the prettier children to go out and schmooze! While we all hide in the corner comparing eye bags, stretch marks and saggy areas

monkeysavingexpertdotcom · 31/10/2009 11:42

I'm wearing a very plain dark purple dress from GAP and black knee length boots. And beads and stuff. Best I can manage. Hair will look a state but I'll try my best with it.

ImSoNotTelling · 31/10/2009 20:33

i will rush up and say hello monkey

twelveyeargap · 01/11/2009 10:21

My children are full of snot and cranky. I don't think I'll go. Will tell MN/ GAP. Presume there's a wait list?

deepdarkwood · 01/11/2009 10:53

Right, right what's everyone wearing then?
Am thinking black jersey waterfall dress (Kew), with patent shoes. And classy accessories.
Note to self: find classy accessories.

Ds wants to wear his corduroy jacket (which was originally my little brothers ... 35 years ago...) - vintage chic or bonfire guy??

Please can we have a mn handshake

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 01/11/2009 12:55

I cant go!!! My kids arent well and Im feeling pretty crap myself

do i email the lady or does someone else want me place? It says bring print out of invite so I guess i could forward to someone with my RL name (if you promise not to tell)

NormaBatesFeltcher · 01/11/2009 17:47

Oh god, what to wear.

Please please please tell me what you are all wearing?

posieparker · 01/11/2009 18:49

I will be the 5'1" bird with, hopefully, a 6' DH and 4 dcs. I am just going to wear a black polo neck tee with grey woolen trousers, baby in gap grey, boys in whatever makes it through a day in London clean and dd1 in some clothes I designed myself, including her beautiful winter coat with delightful buttons that keep popping out.... always a good look.

They mailed me and said something ambiguous about DH so I'm taking him.

ImSoNotTelling · 01/11/2009 20:15

Anyone else getting nervous?

Where are all the other people going - there's supposed to be 50 of us - is everyone else just really cool about the whole thing?

Wish i could bring someone

Ambiguous sounds fine posie, mine was a definite no

NormaBatesFeltcher · 01/11/2009 22:36

I am getting less cool about the whole thing as time goes on.

I have no idea what the dress code is

Kids will probably look ok

deepdarkwood · 01/11/2009 22:46

Agree - lack of dress code is worrying for those of us who don't go to fashion events ever on a regular basis.

No idea what dd is going to wear - she tends to refuse my suggestion style herself anyway, so is more than likely to turn up in a jeans & fairy wings combo ...

SkivingViking · 02/11/2009 07:03

I'm getting very nervous!

I'll be wearing a black skirt with cream embroidered flowers on the hem, black v-neck top, black tights and black shoes.

Haven't entirely decided on the dc's yet - although I can say that dd (3) will be wearing pretty, black patent party shoes with a splash of fluorescent orange paint on

posieparker · 02/11/2009 07:26

Hey, I'm wearing the only thing that fits following a huge weight gain in pg that I seem to lose by the time the baby is 18 months...dc4 is one tomorrow!!!

I am very nervous!

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 02/11/2009 07:30

I would have loved to go (mainly to meet other MNetterss) but the practicalities of the situation (mainly dragging DS up to London during his suppertime/bath/bedtime) have got the better of my desire to schmooze at GAP. If anyone wants my invite let me know and I will forward to them.

posieparker · 02/11/2009 07:34

Can I have yours for DH, 4 dcs in London alone is far too scary!

[email protected]

posieparker · 02/11/2009 07:34

Please.
