Hello, fashionistas.

Stella McCartney and Gap would like to invite 50 Mumsnetters (with or without their children) to attend the Stella McCartney for Gap launch on Monday 2nd November between 5.30pm and 7pm at the Gap Brompton Road store, Knightsbridge, London.

Here's what the guys at Gap say: "As you may know, Gap will be debuting the first ever collection of Stella McCartney for GapKids and babyGap. Launching in stores on 3rd November 2009, Stella McCartney has created a collection for boys and girls from 0-6 months to 12 years. The collection features her signature touches ? a soft colour palette, familiar silhouettes and her unique mix of unexpected pieces, creating looks that stay true to Stella?s unique vision, reinterpreted with GapKids? playful, child-like charm, keeping fun and practicality at the forefront of the design intent."

Stella herself has specifically suggested that Mumsnet members are invited to the preview event, as she is a fan of the site!

Guests will enjoy a tea party and children will be able to take part in a range of craft activities incorporating motifs from the campaign and will also receive a branded gift bag and balloon at the end of the event.

There is disabled access to the store. Baby changing facilities will be available.

If you'd like to come, please fill in this form.

Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. So, if you haven't heard by 1 November, we're sorry but you haven't been selected.

Did you spot us? And horton and her DD?

No probs not shopping other MNers

I should have said hello shouldn't I.

Horton · 03/11/2009 19:55

I am now kicking myself for not simply wandering around brazenly asking people if they were MNers. Ah well. I will know better next time.

ImSoNotTelling, your DD's hair is absolutely lovely. So silky and blonde. You couldn't tell it was mum-cut!

Megglevache · 03/11/2009 20:04

Ha ha.

Posie is so deluded, she is not tubby, does not have mad hair/make up, I do however suspect she has circus mirrors in her house to make her think these things.

Ds thought her ds1 was so cool

ImSoNotTelling · 03/11/2009 20:12

Hmmm just realised my posts made it look as if i had indetified posie by her description of herself - mad hair etc - when of course I identified her by her 4 children and DH and their respective heights!

Posie you looked very nice I think I was a bit nervous of approaching people as I felt a bit dowdy, everyone else seemed very grown up and smart...

Horton DD currently has 2 fringes as the hairdresser told me I'd done it all wrong A short one underneath and a long one on top, and she won't let me clip the old one back. Never mind, I don't think she cares

VoidofDiscovery · 03/11/2009 21:14

Hello monkeysaving that was me with my DD & DS, thanks for that. I normally lurk, but will now plunge in and post... be gentle. Hope you got back okay.

Posie, I met you at the beginning, when I sidled (sp?) up to you, I have no shame . Think we def. need a secret sign.

And yes monkeysaving, there was one particular waiter who was scrummy and held my gaze for ages and Thoughts Crossed My Mind... and they weren't about poss spinanch in teeth!

Seeing as the DCs were preoccupied with food & crafts, maybe they wouldn't have noticed if I'd dragged him to the changing rooms?

deepdarkwood · 03/11/2009 21:58

LOLOL I got winked at as well. Do you think they were all briefed to wink at all hopeful looking mothers, or was one waiter just freelancing

Doodleydoo · 03/11/2009 22:09

Hey I got chatted up by one but had to run away as it has been a long time since being chatted up (at least i think that is what happened but i could be very wrong!)how sad am I to run off with the excuse "dd is at craft table with scissors....."
Anyway he didn't have any food or drink and just an empty tray so i think he was chatting me up

ImSoNotTelling · 03/11/2009 22:14

None of them winked at me

That's what happens when you are chaperoned by your mum

VoidofDiscovery · 03/11/2009 22:22

lol, ImSo.

I wonder if MNHQ could organise another event with those waiters to help so that we could practice advanced flirtation techniques for the out of practice amongst us, my one was good.

Very good, hmmm, may need to go and have a think about this event.

HalloweLeenie · 03/11/2009 22:39

Hi, just like to say thanks for the invite to attend, took my DS, who although was too young to understand, definately enjoyed the nibbles , balloons and the goodybag, he also took a shine to a few of the ladies, as he walked around grabbing their legs and getting over excited to see all the other children playing, lol,... oh and me and DH enjoyed the champagne, i loved the padded gillet thingy and got that for DS (not sure what its called and really liked the grey and yellow moon boots, but diddnt buy them, spent the whole train journey wishing i had, so sent DH back there this evening to get them, they are sooo cute on,sadly though, there is not alot of the range that is geared toward his age group (15months)
And, best of all we had a sneak preview in Harrods at the Xmas displays, roll on saturday for the Harrods Xmas parade, not looking forward to the early start to get there for 8am though, but it's worth it, for a great day out with the DC's

monkeysavingexpertdotcom · 03/11/2009 22:42

Void! Hello. You seemed so serene - and to think, all those thoughts were going through your head about the waiters....
One winky waiter handed me a glass of fizz with the words "grape juice, madam?" followed by a big wink. I have to say, my only thought after a two-hour journey was "it better fecking not be, mate".
Posie I identified you straight away (small blonde, tall husband, four children) but just grinned stupidly a few times.
