Why aren't threads opening on most recent post

I haven't changed my settings but now when I open a thread I'm on it takes me to an older post than I've read. It used to take me to the most recent. What's happening?

I wondered if this was just me! One thread it's taking me straight back to page one when I have read all the posts and just want to view the 2 new posts.

Have you checked you have not clicked bookmark?

Hi, yes I have the same problem and also started a thread about it yesterday in Site Stuff. Hopefully someone from HQ will answer one of us sooner or later.

Glad it's not just me. It only happens with tio not those I'm just watching.

Is there an easy way to see if I've bookmarked a post apart from scrolling all the way up and down?

• Is it happening on every thread or just some, can you share links to the threads that it is happening on?
• Does it happen when you click on notifications?
• Are you on web or app?
• What device and browser are you using?

Happening to me in a chrome browser on a mobile.

Also being asked to log in several times a day, which is very strange. When I hit 'login' in the message, it doesn't then give me a login page but seems to have logged me in (I checked top right person icon and I'm logged in).

On mobile using the browser. Happens on all threads.

There’s an existing thread on this @whitecarmcr and a number of us are being driven mad by it. It’s been going on for weeks (months for me). Yes, bookmarks have stopped working too, apparently after an update, and we were told it would be looked into but not to expect anything to happen quickly.

It’s beyond frustrating.

It’s so annoying. Only been an issue for the last few days for me. On my iPad on safari but I think was the same on my pc yesterday.

@BeckyAMumsnet @BellaMumsnet @LilyMumsnet It is via TIO and also via Notifications. This thread is one example of a thread it is happening on, although it is obviously more of a nuisance with longer threads. I'm taken to either the earliest posts or part way through the thread, never the most recent posts and never where bookmarked. It has been happening for quite a while. I'm on the web using a laptop and Edge.

Doing it on my iPhone in safari as well and on my laptop.

Same happening with me - Chrome on laptop and mobile.
Used to be some threads but now happens on every one.

@mnhq I've discovered the problem is caused by something to do with the MN Watching and IO functions. If I open a thread from Active or the Talk titles at the top of the page the thread opens normally and correctly.

As aside note there's also an issue with being able to delete tagged names which is why Becky has been tagged twice.

I've also discovered a work around by clicking on the Topic titles in Watching and IO and then choosing the updated thread.

I have had the issue with not being able to delete a quoted name for a while now too.

When I opened this thread just now it took me back to where I last was perfectly. How strange

Hi @whitecarmcr, thank you for sharing this additional info, this is really helpful. We are looking into this at the moment and will post here as soon as we have an update on a fix for this. In the meantime, we really appreciate your patience while we work on it.

Thanks also for flagging the issue with deleting tags. To delete username tags, you can only do this by using the 'bin' icon in the text editor, however please note that this deletes all of the text in the text box, not just the username.

When I open a TIO I am always taken to the first page of the thread, rather than the newest post
