I dont think MN are getting a particularly hard time.
It's also tiring to hear the same old twaddle trotted out about the "vocal few" pro-breastfeeders ruining it for everyone else. There are plenty of vocal people who constantly perpetuate bollox about infant feeding, but get away with it, because, bless them, they can't help their ignorance
There needs to be much more accurate info on infant feeding out there, MN has the resources and support of many many people to help do this, and at the moment they arent.
They are involved in a campaign re care surrounding miscarriages (and I'm really pleased about that, dont get me wrong). They have been asked to write 6 books. I dont think it's unreasonable to be disappointed that infant feeding hasn't been put higher on the list of ones being written out, since I put quite a bit of time of mine into this site and it's a subject I feel passionate about. I'm not suggesting other people's ideas override mine, just that I am as entitled to anyone else to voice it. This is my mumsnet I'm talking about after all - MNHQ can worry about keeping happy the thousands of others .

good god, MN can't do anything right can they
not everyone is against Nestle
not everyone is into reading about breastfeeding
not everyone is bothered about formula advertising
I could go on
this site is for 1000's of people, not a select few who feel they can decree how everyone else should think or feel"
For someone who doesnt care about breastfeeding/nestle/formula etc you dont have spend a lot of time popping on threads to say you dont care OO. I think you doth protest too much
I really do think MNHQ could easily remove all advertising for Nestle subsidiaries. If they choose not to, they are perfectly entitled to do so - it's their website. It doesnt stop me being disappointed about it. It also doesnt mean I'm not pleased that they dont run ads for formula. I just think one step further really wouldnt hurt their pocket. At all. There'll always be another company in line wanting to have their ads plastered all over a website that attracts thousands of people every day, and hundreds of thousands of visitors every month.
