Constantly crashing and freezing.

This started about 3 weeks ago with constant crashing. Now it’s freezing too and taking ages to load,

iPhone 12, Safari.

'Normal' as opposed to private browser seems better for me now. However, the refresh issue only happens in normal, not private too.

iPhone using Safari. iPhone 13 using Ios 17.5.1

iPhone user here, site is virtually unusable unless I go into private mode or use a laptop. Am not tech savy enough to know anything about ad blockers!

Hi, name changed, formerly EmmaPeel. I'm not at all tech savvy so all I can tell you is that I'm using a Huawei Smart phone and I access mumsnet via the app.

I can't access through safari iOS 17.6. Been like this for two weeks not. Freezes, won't load and crashes with same error message.

iPhone 12, safari. It improved after I sent in my video and I got a reply telling me to set it to load fewer messages at a time. I was all set to reply and say that’s it, all fixed … then today it started freezing again 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I've noticed this as well. On Windows 11, using 64-bit Chrome version 127.0.6533.88. Random crashes with or without ad-blocker. The more open tabs on mumsnet there are, the greater the chance of it crashing.

Just to make sure it's not Chrome I also tried Microsoft Edge version 127.0.2651.74. No ad-blocker, never used Edge for anything else. Still random crashes. Edge tends to recover better than Chrome - Chrome takes out all open windows, Edge more usually just takes out one window.

When it's hanging there's a single Chrome/Edge thread that's running at 100% on a single core. All Chrome/Edge tabs unresponsive.

Anything else you need?

I’ve just come on t say it’s now starting on private mode.

Crashing and freezing
Clicking on a thread and a completely different thread pops up. This has happened 5 times now and they aren’t near each other so you can’t click by mistake.
Clicking on a thread and a random advert loads. Again nowhere near each other on the main page.

It’s not causing other sites to load slowly yet.

I’m on the other thread about this and using private mode has been my workaround. Kind of worrying that might be affected soon too.

Not working properly for me either - constantly freezing

This site is quite unusable now and has been for several weeks. Freezes or just doesn’t load. I’m using an iPhone 11, IOS 17.5.1
I think it is something to do with the adverts taking ages to load and it just doesn’t respond until the ad is fully loaded.

This hadn't been an issue with me until today - now the site is crashing my Chrome regularly.

Private mode is frustrating too as you need to log in not only to private mode itself (which is the iPhone feature) but then log in to Mumsnet, even if you have the remember me box ticked

Surely if it’s affecting so many users, some of those users must be from MNHQ themselves and they can take their own videos

This has been going on for about a month now and responses just seem to be send us a video and sounds like they are no further forward than what they were weeks ago

It’s just doing my head in now.

Sick of logging in and out in private which is starting to freeze
Unuseable in public browsing.

It's not as blockers, I don't have any but the site is unusable on my iPhone.

It’s particularly bad for me this morning. I’m not using any ad blockers.
I’ve just had to clear all my browsing history just to get on. It was also freezing all other sites because I had an open MN tab.
Its making it a chore to even come on MN these days.
