Constantly crashing and freezing.

This started about 3 weeks ago with constant crashing. Now it’s freezing too and taking ages to load,

Agree it has been a pretty poor show from @MNHQ considering how quick they are to respond on other topics and deleting threads/posts

Would it help if we provided timestamps for when this problem occurs so you can compare it to your logs?

Still can't use it through safari. I can only access the site through the link I saved to my homepage. Abd if I try to load on safari the next page I try to load then crashes. It's only ever after trying to load MN.

I thought this was an issue with my (rather old) iPhone and I was going to go out and buy a new one, so I’m glad I saw this thread first.

The Safari browser had become completely unusable for me, Mumsnet was the absolute worst but all websites were slow and crashing and it was making my phone incredibly hot. I’ve now closed all the Mumsnet tabs that were open and it’s instantly solved the problem.

I was the same, thought it was my iPad. Nothing would open and my battery was draining insanely quickly. I can still get on using my phone. It’s so weird. Clearly some issue with the adverts loading and not affecting traffic enough for @MNHQ to bother expending any resources on it.

Desktop website on Firefox is virtually unusable for me - and has been for the past few days. Really really slow, nothing loading, major lagging in the comment box... very bad!

Yes me too! Last few weeks just taking ages to load and then freezing. Thought it wa my wife but no other sites affected. Honestly beginning to lose patience and feel like I’ve been transported back to dial up WiFi of the 90s!!

Ok glad I checked. I’m on my phone. Just switched to Google Chrome search and it’s fixed it! Whoop!

Been happening for me for the past few weeks as well. Using Chrome browser on a Win 11 PC. Sometimes a thread will freeze and lock the browser. It may come back and restore control after a little while, or it may not, forcing me to kill the process through task manager. At a guess, I'd say there's a bug or endless loop in some Javascript on the site - either on Mumsnet itself, or in one of the adverts.

It’s definitely something to do with adverts - I haven’t got any ad blockers on but when I access Mumsnet on my iPad the page just freezes - you can’t scroll down or click on other pages but you can see a blank space where adverts are loading.

It is really not acceptable as it affects opening of other web pages too. As soon as you close any Mumsnet pages it’s fine so it is definitely their website causing these problems.

It’s been just awful, unusable, locking up and freezing. I think I noticed it when that ad first arrived, the one where the mum keeps kissing the baby. I’m on iPhone 11, safari.

It’s only mumsnet, doesn’t happen with anything else. I’m not faffing changing things when it’s just one site.

Laptop, Chrome and it's still happening.
Everything's been cleaned and no adblockers etc.

Used to sit there for ages staring at the pc screen😶...(probably to connect to Friends Reunited 😬...)

I thought I had an issue with my phone (which was quite old) so bought a new one. Should have checked here first 🙈 It’s so annoying, I can’t “just quickly” use the platform anymore.

This is happening to me too on my iPhone. The site constantly freezes and/or crashes and I’ve also noticed it’s making my phone run very hot.

I think it's a particular advert, but I can't work out which advert.

I've tried clearing cache and all the usual stuff.

Happens on both laptop (windows 10, chrome browser) and mobile (android, chrome browser). I don't use ad blockers.

I did manage to get into task manager on laptop last time it happened. Chrome had been put into efficiency mode and was unresponsive, even though I have efficiency mode turned off.
