Massive ads taking over screen again

This happened a few weeks ago and appeared resolved. Now it’s happening again. Full screen taken over and a message to rotate screen. I’m on safari on an iPad.

Hi all

If you click on the black or yellow space on the advert, will it take you to the URL? If you don't want to load into the advert, you can turn WiFi and data off before clicking. This will load the URL without loading the landing page.

Nothing happens when I click on the ad, absolutely nothing! No URL, no new page, nothing.

Maybe it’s different for someone else…

ok, I played around with the Ad page when it popped up now and got the URL above. Hope you can sort it @LilyMumsnet, as this came up within an hour of me clearing my iPad, changing my password, deleting my saved Chat and AIBU links.

Happening here too. Safari on iPad. It’s an advert from the Western Australia Department of Education! It’s absolutely maddening - the site is completely unusable.

Here as well, I thought it had been resolved but clearly not. It’s so frustrating.

Yes, I get it too, I’m on safari, so far it’s just on the I pad but between that and the app causing my iPhone to overheat and drain the battery the site is becoming unusable. What is going on?

Same happening here, Ipad safari. Please rotate your device. Rotating appears to get rid of it but I don’t want to use my ipad like that!

I’m giving up tonight….every single thread I look at is rendered invisible, dominated by the same ad (Ipad browser). I can’t keep clearing my history because it impacts other stuff I’m doing. It’s hopeless.

I’ve had it but just yesterday and today. Once it’s there you can’t get it to go away.

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but we're not able to locate external adverts without a link. Next time it happens, could you share it with us? All the URLs are posted further up this page, so I am not sure why you are asking for them again? I have also emailed the URL for the W Australia one, which is black and yellow, and have had an email back confirming it has been received.

I clicked on the advert but nothing happened. It didn’t go to an advert, just stayed as it was.
