UPDATE FROM MNHQ - New OP view

Hi all,

We're currently testing a new topic page layout called ‘OP view’. You may have noticed it already if you've been on the Gardening topic page in the last month. The aim is to make it easier for users to understand what a thread is about.

Today, we're making ’OP view’ available on Property/DIY, Telly Addicts, The Doghouse, Food/Recipes, Housekeeping and Home decoration. This change will only be on mobile and desktop, OP view is currently not available in the apps.

From initial feedback, you told us that you'd like to be able to switch between OP and classic view. You'll still be able to do this by using the icon on the page, but now you can also choose a default view in your Talk settings.

We appreciate your feedback so feel free to add it to this thread.

Keep changing it back and it keeps reverting to OP View and I now don't visit those boards.

Thank you for giving us the option to look at subjects in ‘the old style’.

I confess the new way wasn’t for me.

Awful, thank goodness it's optional will be turning it off permanently, hopefully at least.

I think I'll be turning this feature off once I've figured out how.

I'm dyslexic and find this new change especially annoying when I open a topic now. It's like BOOM 'you need to read the text or else'. There's too many words at once.

It's in the settings. Someone told me how further back in the thread. Display settings I think.

The Christmas topic has been messed with as well. It looks so bad, I thought the site was down.

Thanks for the tip about changing it in settings. Hope it stays off.

Can we have this as an option on the my feed and I'm on tabs on desktop please @MNHQ? I really don't like the current layout. (For clarification, I'd like the compact view to be available please, not OP view).

Glad to know it can be turned off. I’m hating it.

Thankfully just found this as I came to ask what was going on.

I hate it. Glad I’ve been able to change it back to the normal condensed list.

I refuse to believe this is something any MNetter has ever asked for.

Its awful. It’s clunky and ugly. It’s off putting. And stop opening new tabs for me ffs.
