MN needs a closer watch of FWR

There is a concerning growth of posts with racist undertones cropping up on these boards, all under the guise of being proudly 'anti-woke'.

Apparently diversity is 'woke' and worthy of derision.

This is the thread I'm referring to here.

Mumsnet needs to looks at why that board draws such types of posts, and why posters feel so comfortable openly airing their racism.

If this thread and its original purpose have been derailed it's not just happened due to GC posters. Plenty of those who vehemently disagree with such posters in general have plenty put their tuppence in to reply. And then some.

So perhaps let's all be more honest and say it's a bit of both.

From what I've observed I'd agree but it's important to bear in mind that this issue has been "no debate " for a long time. To do so is met with accusations of "denying existence "or "it's Section 28 all over again " .

I'd agree that I've seen a fair few racist comments and attitudes on MN over the years and have reported several. In my experience it's not unique to FWR and when I've seen it there it's often used as a lazy gotcha by a poster who believes TWAW and any opposing other view transphobic, most often to imply that like a TW black women are a subset of woman. Or to accuse GC posters of "being just like white people during the civil rights movement". And of course implying the struggles a trans person may have is at all comparable to the oppression black people have suffered and still are suffering.

I'm not black and would never ever want to overstep into experiences i can't even imagine but I don't think i am by saying those actions and accusations are disingenuous at best and highly disrespectful at worst.

There is no evidence that racism is more prevalent on FWR than elsewhere on MNHQ so there is no need for further additional controls ?

To go one further, given that FWR is more closely scrutinised by trans activists types than any other board on Mumsnet and there appears to be an army of keyboard warriors ready to report the slightest infraction, it's surprising any racism at all manages to slip through the net on FWR.

As a Black Woman, It's bloody disrespectful and extremely racist. The thing is most FWR posters will call it out, for which I'm thankful.

The idea that these so called activists could appropriate the atrocities of slavery and colonialism as some kind of gotcha is racist supremacy. Imagine sayinf a Black woman is the same as someone who "identifies" as a woman. It's dehumanising.

Black women are female, like all other women.

You have been making blanket accusations on this thread. Blanket meaning there being many instances of the activity you claim is happening. Someone has asked you to provide examples, have you? Did I miss those relevant examples specifically relating to FWR?

You asked a general question for posters to answer, and I (stupidly) answered. Now I have to provide you evidence of my right-doing. When providing evidence is hard as I regularly change my emails for MN and no longer have access to ones I have ditched. But mostly, I am not about to post evidence of my ‘reports’. Who the fuck even asks for that?
