'Goady and abusive' posts

I received an email from ' Mumsnet HQ' today warning me that several of my posts had had to be deleted recently because I was posting in an abusive and goady fashion. This is absolutely not true. The only post of mine recently that's been deleted was on a thread that was deleted, and it was not in itself abusive or goady. I'm assuming this was an automated send - but it was upsetting and a little worrying to receive. Could someone at MNHQ please explain what's going on, and perhaps apologise?

Hi there Multivac,

It looks like your most recent post read: "You can fuck off right along with the OP. HTH, you utter arse", which would count as a personal attack. There were other posts that were in a similar vein, too. We're afraid that regardless of whether a thread is deleted afterwards or not, we still would find that sort of post to be a personal attack and delete it.

We appreciate that everyone can get a bit het up from time to time but we do still have to apply the same rules fairly to everyone. We can see that you've also emailed us so we'll drop you a line there and we'd be happy to discuss it further if you want any more detail on why other posts were deleted and that sort of thing.

😆

multivac · 28/06/2023 20:59

So when you say ' several', you mean ' one'? And this somehow deviates from my ' normal pattern of posting?' And suddenly we don't tell arses to fuck off on MN any more?

The next post was from someone agreeing with me, btw (that telling a teacher they are not as important as a consultant is a twatty thing to do); did they get an email, too?

I didn't see the thread, but it's always slightly puzzled me that "ODFOD" usually seems to be allowed to stand but "fuck off" gets deleted as a personal attack. It's the same message.

Lol at your thread sorry but a teacher does not have the same hierarchy as a consultant 😅 not that anybody should want to have heirchy.

multivac · 28/06/2023 21:03

Their opinions are as valid though, right? As a fellow human being?

Yes perfectly valid. Obviously telling some to.... Will draw attention to your post being reported. Did you think it wouldn't?

Can you please find me another example of one of my deleted, abusive posts, given that you've apparently spotted a pattern that necessitates checking I'm ok?

I don't care about it being reported (even though it's fine to call anyone a cunt at any time, apparently) - I do care about being accused of repeated, abusive posts with no evidence.

From MN HQ:

These are some of the posts that we've deleted since we last contacted you about your posting style and you agreed to amend it:

"Is anyone on this thread an actual human being?"

"As I say. Bunch of cunts. That's it, really."

"Apparently I'm not allowed to say that people posting vicious things about people they don't know are cunts. Not sure why, really. Do you know either of the two people involved? In which case, grow up, get a life and wind your stupid neck in. Is that better, Mumsnet HQ?"

"You can fuck off right along with the OP. HTH, you utter arse."

Hebe
MNHQ

I have asked for dates and context. Because I post rarely these days; and the two 'cunts' posts are from the same thread, ages ago. And the first one?!

Not sure this thread is doing you any favours. Hth

swanling · 28/06/2023 21:29

Tbh I think most of us could be painted any way someone wanted if we were quoted out of context.

I'm not really interested in favours. I'm interested in what Mumsnet means by 'recent', 'goady' (a word so obscure I have to override my predictive text to type it), and 'abusive'.

Op. I've been on the wrong side of mnhq on occasion. You have two options: toe the line or leave the site.

You don't have to agree with it but you are also free to disengage if it doesn't work for you.

BarryK3nt · 28/06/2023 21:35

You obviously have been posting goady and abusive things so maybe you should be the one apologising to MNHQ?

CorBlimeyGovnr · 28/06/2023 21:37

😅

LochnessMonsieur · 28/06/2023 21:38

Yeah those posts are abusive unless someone said them first and you're returning fire with fire. In that case, they're still abusive but justified in my opinion. Otherwise, I'm surprised mnhq have let you stay and even written to you. They've suspended/banned people without warning for much MUCH less.

InTheGardenShed · 28/06/2023 21:47

Op it's not as good here since the sensitive souls arrived

Years ago it was more robust and a lot funnier

Not s as by more, it's hun central

LadyWiddiothethird · 28/06/2023 21:50

😱😱😱

Monsterjam · 28/06/2023 21:57

Is anyone on this thread actually human- this doesn’t seem goady ( spell check really hates that word) or a personal attack tbf

booktokbear · 28/06/2023 22:00

Yeah op, your case isn't standing up.

I saw your one on the Consultant post earlier, not great and did feel you were attacking op.

The other examples are worse imo.
🤷🏼‍♀️

TimeToMoveIt · 28/06/2023 22:03

I thought that ops thread was goady tbh

hattie43 · 28/06/2023 22:03

What you've said is vile OP I'm sure I wouldn't want you on any forum I ran either if you can't express yourself better than that .
