Totally inappropriate enormous vibrator adverts now ALL over Mumnset.

What on earth are you thinking of? Is Mumsnet really that short of cash that they have to stoop this low?

Not to mention the ridiculous woke language ie "people with wombs".

Totally inappropriate on ALL levels.

you don’t need to be rude about it, I said I was open for discussion about it but I thought that talking about women’s sex is a good thing. There’s no need for an attitude towards me for having a different opinion to you 🙄

I use Brave browser (which was recommended to me by another MN user).
I have it just for MN and it has made the site usable now.

I can’t see the bit about vulva owners or about sex in motherhood being taboo and obviously that’s not acceptable, but this advert is fine, isn’t it? Isn’t it better to be open about women’s sexual pleasure? Why can’t Mumsnet advertise vibrators? Surely if your kids see it just tell them it’s an air freshener. Sorry if I’m being obtuse but I’m lost on what is wrong with it. I’d rather we were celebrating women getting sexual pleasure than whispering about it behind our hands. But happy to be told otherwise as I may just be being a bit dense!

It’s not the product as such, but the language used in the advert. And possibly also whether the advert should be allowed to pop up on a site where children could be around.

@Hamjam Apologies. But I really do not understand why I need to explain why I do not want to see adverts about sex toys.
Sex toys is not the same as sex. People have been having sex for thousands of years without them.

Maybe there should be an ad watershed. Ie, only be allowed to pop up after 9pm. You wouldn’t have a vibrator ad on daytime tv, and I think the feeling is the same here.

In all seriousness though, I’m so sickened by this whole issue (in particular the fact MN have exposed themselves as trans apologists) that I’m seriously considering leaving, as I don’t want to associate myself with this ‘people with wombs’ utter bullshit. I’ve been a member for 12 years.

Anyone else contemplating leaving with me?

Whoever wrote all that nauseating blurb could have saved an awful lot of time if they'd just gone with the word 'women'.
