Totally inappropriate enormous vibrator adverts now ALL over Mumnset.

What on earth are you thinking of? Is Mumsnet really that short of cash that they have to stoop this low?

Not to mention the ridiculous woke language ie "people with wombs".

Totally inappropriate on ALL levels.

Agree!

LilyMumsnet · 02/02/2023 09:51

Hi OP

Thank you for the feedback - we'll chat about it now.

cunderthunt1 · 02/02/2023 09:52

Hear, hear!

YesitsBess · 02/02/2023 09:53

And it looks like Shreks ear.

Catnary · 02/02/2023 09:53

Yes, it’s grim and I’m quite open-minded.

SalviaOfficinalis · 02/02/2023 09:55

Oh no… now I’ve clicked on this I’m getting the adverts too. It does indeed look like Shrek’s ear.

CoconutQueen · 02/02/2023 09:56

Mumsnet is for Mums. It's called Mumsnet. Thousands of women who may be looking at supportive threads with little ones on their laps or next to them.

What on earth are you thinking of?

So I now have All Star by Smashmouth stuck in my head also. It's been quite the morning.

maddy68 · 02/02/2023 09:57

Use tha app. You don't get adverts

DrMarciaFieldstone · 02/02/2023 09:57

‘For mothers and vulva owners’

WTAF

ZeroFuchsGiven · 02/02/2023 09:57

Where are these ads? I havnt seen any.

AnyFucker · 02/02/2023 09:58

Yeah, not too impressed. Feels like we are getting sex toys shoved in our faces.

And what ? “People with wombs“ ? Sod off.

CoconutQueen · 02/02/2023 09:58

People also look at Mumsnet in public, on trains, at work, in front of other people. As well as when their children are with them. Because it is Mumsnet.

As a person with a womb and the owner of a vulva, I am offended

dirt · 02/02/2023 10:01

What's this about? I use the app and I've no idea

Wailywailywaily · 02/02/2023 10:01

I don’t mind advertising products for personal pleasure but I object to companies like this contributing to the erasure of the word woman but hiding behind the supercilious message that they are “breaking the taboos of motherhood”.

SalviaOfficinalis · 02/02/2023 10:01

“For mothers and all vulva owners” is beyond offensive.
It also makes no sense. It’s really like someone was actively attempting to write the stupidest thing they could think of.

Mumsnet have teamed up with some company and are making vibrators for "vulva owners"

Isheabastard · 02/02/2023 10:03

Yes, I don’t like it either. It shouldn’t be on mumsnet!!!

FeinCuroxiVooz · 02/02/2023 10:04

while we are at it, could we have an option to "hide" specific "promoted by mumsnet" headlines that appear interspersed with real chat threads in the Active Conversations list. I am fed up with coming up with excuses for why I am not going to click on the "toys for the bedroom" headline. I know full well what the article will be about but children do catch glimpses of what's on my screen if I am browsing mumsnet while they have something inane on tv, and kids think its going to be an interesting article about toys rather than all this boring mum sstuff. I can hide normal threads but if a headline is "promoted by mumsnet" there's no way to avoid it being on screen.

So women who've had a hysterectomy are not allowed to use vibrators?

Also offensive to say that sex in motherhood is a deeply held taboo.

Deeply misogynistic.

It also looks like a mini vacuum cleaner.

cunderthunt1 · 02/02/2023 10:06

Do mums actually even have the time to get themselves off? I don't

dirt · 02/02/2023 10:06

Ok so that's not appropriate. I'm glad I use the app.

Hapoydayz · 02/02/2023 10:07

The use of vulva owners is deeply offensive and I don’t think sex in motherhood has been taboo for at least the last 30 years!
