If here’s something that I might also like to read, I’ll find it by using the search function.
These suggestions are just encouraging the posting of the same points on multiple similar threads, and that will discourage healthy normal thread death.

It’s really distracting to look at visually, I really liked the uncluttered ‘clean’ MN format compared to other forums.

Yes, this is irritating - I clicked on one and it was from 2021.

Its horrible and some of the threads are from well over a year ago, its like MN are wanting Zombie threads resurrected

Very annoying. I'm just getting used to the extra scrolling required on this latest site version and now have to do even more scrolling.

Yep another voice saying what nonsense, the last few days have been a bit annoying with that troll resurrecting zombie threads without MN encouraging it too!

Also, if it's working off algorithms I hope it's not being used on sensitive topics.

Thank you! I always scroll down to trending to find a good bunfight but instead, first I’m being served up dated zombie nonsense. Irritating. Especially as the algorithm is a bit shit: I’m currently on a thread about “where will this end” which is about cost of living, and the “might also like” is giving me “where will this end” about alcoholism and abusive relationships.

My thumbs still haven’t got over MNHQ removing the ‘go back to top’ option they used to have at the bottom of the page. Loads of needless scrolling.

They've also started posting a link on the S&B threads to 'best winter coats', etc.

I am not sure if there is any filter - it had loads of smacking threads offered to me after clicking on one.

It is realy weird to think I would want to read five threads all about smacking - I come here for the variety!

This feature is primarily meant for those searching for information - if the first thread they land on doesn't entirely answer their question, they get suggestions for others that might. It's very much a work in progress - over time we'll be able to tweak it to make it more accurate - so telling us where you think it's not quite right is much appreciated. We have underweighted older threads in the algorithm but if it causes any problems with zombie threads, again, this is something that can be easily adjusted.

It's ironic...it's not showing up on the very thread that it's about 😆
So it's possible to have it turned off either on particular sections of the board or maybe even on particular threads.

I would be very concerned if it was used to either resurrect very personal threads, threads discussing emotional issues, relationship issues, health issues that kind of thing.

Can I say MN Admins - just because there might be an algorithm for something, it doesn't mean you have to add it to the site. Likewise, just because there might be an app for something, doesn't mean you have to download it.

Shouting this from the naughty step as I started a similar thread without checking to see if one existed* 🙄

It is just going to lead to loads of people commenting/giving advice on issues that were resolved/died a death months ago.

Can you not put it under where we post, instead of the multi questionnaire.

It's also very arbitrary - the latest low carb Bootcamp thread is linking to all manner of other, different Bootcamp threads, with no obvious logic

May we suggest you remove it until you've done WAY more tweaking on the algorithm?

Aligning teenage boys with female-identifying actors is more of a malgorithm tbh. FWR is trolled enough, without untested wonky software joining in.
